In a recent thread I came across this statement by a believer which I found absurd.

Ozzy seems like a very nice guy---I 'd love to meet him !.................I'd be willing to wager...that his funeral showings, will be larger than the pope himself......I've actually felt the goosebumps from his music......and yano.....all that mention of the devil.....you should acctually "read" the lyrics to "war pigs"...they're actually quite God glorifying. "oh lord yea!"

I think he...and not unlike many before /after him.....enjoy "shocking" the christians.

Having a desire to shed a better "Light" on the matter I wanted to supply some other lyric snippets to Mr. Osbourne's "glorifying" music for your review...

From"Denial"

You are my only daughter, I guess I made you twice

You look inside my other, he'll give you bad advice

I will tell you I'm OK, but deep inside I'm afraid

I don't drink holy water, I'm not a son of Christ

I ain't no black messiah, and I don't load my dice

You can tell me you're all right, but why you so afraid?

You're in denial, you never will believe it's you

Denial, you always hide behind the truth

You'll never believe it, you never believe it's you

I don't think I'm amazing. In fact I'm quite insane

To live inside my bucket, with all my plastic chains

People tell me every time, I look at the wron all right

From N.I.B.

Now I have you with me under my power

Our love grows stronger now with every hour

Look into my eyes you'll see who I am

My name is Lucifer please take my hand

Follow me now and you will not regret

Leaving the life you led before we met

You are the first to have this love of mine

Forever with me 'till the end of time

Your love for me has just got to be real

Before you know the way I'm going to feel

I'm going to feel

I'm going to feel

Now I have you with me under my power

Our love grows stronger now with every hour

Look into my eyes you'll see who I am

My name is Lucifer please take my hand

Oh yeah, and the ever "glorifying" War Pigs, which I've included Ozzy's original lyrics.

Walpurgis

(Walpurgis is the original name of this song - and it had totally different lyrics back then, but the same music. The only place where this version of the song is (legally) available is on the Ozzy "Ozzman Cometh" Greatest Hits CD.)

Witches gather at black masses

Bodies burning in red ashes

On the hill the church in ruin

Is the scene of evil doings

It's a place for all bad sinners

Watch them eating dead rats' innards

I guess it's the same whereever you may go

Oh Lord yeah

Carry banners which denounce the lord

See me rocking in my grave

See them anoint my head with dead rat's blood

See them stick the stake through me

Oh

Don't hold me back cause I've just gotta go

They've got a hold of my soul now

Lords got my brain instinct with blood obscene

Look in my eyes I'm there enough

Yeah

On the scene a priest appears

Sinners falling at his knees

Satan sends out funeral pyre

Casts the priest into the fire

It's the place for all bad sinners

Watch them eating dead rats' innards

I guess it's the same whereever you may go

Oh lord yeah

So how is this disgusting lyric considered "God glorifying"???

Its not.

We as Christains should read the word of GOd, and be able to disern from this kind of Junk and the Real word of God.

Just because a song says God in it does not make it Christain or Good at all. SOme people worship satan as thier God, and if your not worshiping Jesus CHrist as your lord and savoir, then you are.

Ozzy is a Nice guy, but being nice, and being Christian are two totally differnt things.

We as Christains must not fall into the trap of even hearing his music, that kind of musis is not worthy of hearing.

WE must disern and honor God. Use your mind and think wisely.

Only a Fool would fall for the Evil things of this world.

ugh...ok I am only gonna say this one more time, you CANT just judge somebodys personality over some dumb music lyrics! I don't even listen to Ozzy but I don't make snap judgements about him just cause of the way he looks..until you people actually get to know him IN PERSON, don't be calling him a "Satanist" just cause of some dumb tv program you saw about him or w/e....

Really? Have you ever heard of a musical artist who writes his own lyrics write something that he didn't come up with through personal experience? What about "Slim Shady"?

What...?

My point was, just because somebodys lyrics arent christian doesnt mean they arent nice people..there ARE nice non-christians out there.

Oh sure. I agree completely. But then the devil doesn't come in a black coat with a pitchfork and a spade tail either. He comes in whatever shape or form we find most attractive. Hey, the devil's a "nice guy" after all.

Actually, I am a writer, and have written song lyrics for friends. I many times use other people's experiences in my writings. I've written many fictional children's stories and none of them came about because of my own personal experiences. I do enjoy incorporating fantasy along with real life experience. Lyrics, poetry and prose often do come from one's inner thoughts of the heart, yet should never be mistaken for always coming from personal experience.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
