Grace to you,

River,

Knowing God and being one of His children.

Do you believe that us pitiful human beings can really have that big of an impact on the Eco Systems of this beautiful Creation? Yes, I understand we are to be stewards of this Creation and this sector of Gods Creation. However at this current time we are behind enemy lines and are really agents of Gods Kingdom. We are travelling through here to our final destination. Not that we dismiss our stewardship either. It would just seem to me that the way to change the course of History and to help make Good Stewards. Is to make Good Christians. To actually Preach the Gospel and Create new Disciples.

I also believe that as the Bible states. This world is fading fast like a sinking ship. This does not alleviate us of our obligations as Stewards. :) Yet I also believe that as the condition rapidly deteriorates. We ought to be more so about our Fathers business.

I honestly don't believe that we humans and our activity, for all our barvado, can destroy the earth. Our sin certainly has tainted Gods Creation and we are responsible for this. :) The only way out in my sincere belief is through the atonement of Jesus Christ. ;)

He is coming to make all things new. Even now His desaire is to re-make all of mankind in His image. Removing the marring principle of sin.

The Lord Bless you River.

Peace,

Dave

And Global warming is a just a Liberal created myth.....

The fact that we (mankind) is the sole cause of global warming is most certainly a myth. CA's problem is not the environment, but years of liberal policies concerning the production of energy, price controls, regulation, and so on.

Grace to you,

Marnie,

While I tend to agree with your views.

I do also see that in part we are responsible for the situation. As we humankind unleashed sin upon this part of the Creation by agreeing with satan and not our Heavenly Father. We took part in the Rebellion and spread sin all over this part of the Creation. Over which God gave us agency. We simply gave our agency to another. Thus the continual degeneration of the earth. Until the Lord comes.

Thank God He is Merciful. :hmmm:

Peace,

Dave

We agree: sin is ruining this world. It will not, however, destroy the world; this the Bible does not teach. Nor do I believe that "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" is necessarily sin. In other words, I do not think our North American prosperity and lifestyle is to blame. We need only look at the third world nations belching out pollution in unthinkable amounts to see where the damage is coming from.

We have no argument, Dave.

Yes, it is a scientific fact that our globe is warmer than it was about 30 years ago when scientists were threatening global cooling leading to another ice age.

The debate, though, is the cause - is it natural or man-made or a mixture of both.

Temperatures have been this high before; unfortunately we didn't have the global monitoring back then that we do now to compare accurately.

I have also heard that the reason we are seeing a rise in ocean waters has more to do with a "warping" if you will of the globe - that is the African continent is rising and the American continent is falling. I'm not sure where to find verification for this, but it would be interesting to check out.

That being said, there is a verse in Revelation mentioning God's judgment against the evildoers, and in the list of judgments is the phrase "destroying those who destroy the earth."

So, there is that element we do need to consider.

As for California, I do recall from the last time CA had a power outage problem, as was mentioned above, that CA has a lousy power grid system. It seems, then, they haven't fixed the problem yet.

no, we didn't have monitoring devices a few centuries ago...but we CAN tell temperatures from past millennia, incidentally. ice core drilling can be used to check CO2 levels (which, incidentally, goes hand in hand with climate fluctuation), and more direct evidence comes from geological evidence (like glacial moraines), pollen checks, etc. so we know enough to know that climate change IN AND OF ITSELF is the exception rather than the rule.

where scientists have disagreed in the past is, as you pointed out, nebula, whether the current warmer trend has anthropogenic origins.

at this point, the evidence points to yes. climatologists and meterologists will almost all tell you similarly. the fact is that since the industrial revolution, there has been an upper trend that is much more severe than other historical trends.

and if you think about it, it makes sense! we are emitting all kinds of gases in huge quantities in a way that has never been done before, gases that we KNOW trap heat in the atmosphere. oceanic temperatures are rising, flood stages are increasing, and glaciers are melting - very severely in many places. it is a problem that must be addressed - and the US is one of the main culprits in the problem. i personally believe that it is our responsibility to not only work on addressing the issue of GHG emissions with green technology (which by the way has the upshot of reducing our dependence on expensive foreign oil...) such as hydrogen fuel cells, but to assist rapidly developing nations such as india and china in implementing this technology, so that they don't make the same "mistakes" we did.

in any case, even one of my very republican military uncles (who happens to be a meterologist) admitted to me that he thinks it's time to step up and address global warming, which i consider to be a small, although somewhat bitter, victory in our ongoing argument about environmental policy.

if we accept that God granted us stewardship of the planet, how can we not respect the earth enough to make conscious decisions in order to protect it? God entrusted humans with his greatest work - Creation. let's try to prove ourselves worthy stewards by showing His love to the world that has been granted us.

SORRY - what i meant to say was that climate change is the RULE RATHER THAN THE EXCEPTION!

duh. that was an important part of my point! oops...

PS: as an environmental studies major, i feel it is my duty to recommend "an inconvenient truth." please put aside your feelings about al gore, remember that he actually was criticized by democrats when he served as vp for pushing this too much - this is an ETHICAL cause rather than a political one.

peace

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
