Word of Faith doesn't TEACH anything. It is not a doctrine with a credo. What you discredit are individual leaders and their individual beliefs. I believe you do a disservice by labelling many men and women in God's service as WOF, lumping them together as members of some body of some kind.

Further, I have Googled and read some of the opinions of those who call it a "movement" and, having read some Mission Statements, the detractors evidently come from a spiritual lack themselves! It is detractors like them who are so noisy about WOF and I reject them.

Word of Faith is a "movement" and all movements have tenents of belief. If there were not uniting principles there would not be a movement in the first place. Spiritual movements subscribe to a set of doctrines, and what I have presented are doctrines espoused by those who embrace the movment.

I'm not misrepresenting anyone, I'm not misrepresenting the movement and I'm certainly not spiritually lacking. YOu should be as adament at rejecting the doctrines taught and standing up for the truth instead of picking nits with terminology.

Great thread Lady Raven. And thanks for the reminder about us pentecostals.

If only Christians would wake up, be like the Bereans and once again realize the importance of Doctrine.

hr.jr..............................and everything you just said is NOT in the Bible. It is based on a so called new revelation that can only be obtained by super spiritual knowledge that even the early church Fathers did not have.

Where does it say in the Word that Jesus suffered in hell?

Where does it say in the Word that he died spiritually?

Where does it say in the word that he became Born Again?

One thing you have failed to see is that "the Word became flesh and dwelt amoung us" The Word is God and it is not possible to become one with sin and the devil. To say so is blasphemy. These are the dreamers of Job. God said "where were you when I laid the foundations of the Earth?"

God is God and he is in control and we are his children and not "little gods"

In his love,

Brian

Heresy changes the nature of man the nature of God and the nature of salvation and the atonement. So far I've posted two areas where WOF falls solidly outside of orthodox teaching. Here is another.

Heretical Understanding of the Atonement

The Truth:

1. Jesus Nature Can't Change: According to the Bible, Jesus is God's only son, God in flesh, wholly God and wholly man. Jesus therefore had everything a good diety would have, including omnipotence, omniscience, eternalness, immutability, etc. In the incarnation, he didn't use all them, but he still retained them. One of God's atributes is that he is immutible. This means that God is unchangable in his person. Though he acts in the realm of time and he chooses to change relationships with men in time according to his plan, His essence, which includes His perfect and holy attributes, never changes. God does not change (Mal. 3:6) and neither does Jesus. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever" (Heb 13:8).

2. Jesus Cannot Die Spiritually: Again the unchanging God-man did not die spiritually, but physically. 1 Pet. 3:18 says Jesus was put to death in the flesh but made alive in the Spirit. Jesus did not need to die spiritually. The physical death was enough to work our salvation. Colossians 1:13: "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son"; Hebrews 13:12, "therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood"; Hebrews 10:10, "Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.". Was Jesus lying when He cried upon the cross, "It is finished" (John 19:30)?

3. Jesus Did not Need to Suffer in Hell: Since the death was enough for our salvation, there is no need for Christ to have done any more. Satan had already been defeated and conquered (Col 2:14-15). Also, Jesus was not, nor ever will be, a mere mortal human being. To be a mere mortal, He would have to stop being God, and that is one thing that is against God's nature and attributes.

4. Jesus is NOT a Born Again Man: Jesus had no need to be born again He is the Almighty, Eternal, and Holy Son of God and not a sinner in need of regeneration.

These are the LIES:

1) On the cross Jesus took upon Himself the nature of Satan.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the serpent is a symbol of Satan. Jesus Christ knew the only way He would stop Satan is by becoming one in nature with him. You say,

he does not say we are "little Gods." He says we were created to be "little Gods." Huge Difference. (QUOTE)

Sorry Hr.Jr forgive me for being dense but I cannot see any difference whatsoever.

This is exactly the same lie that satan decieved eve with "Ye shall be as gods"

It is also exactly the same belief as the Mormons that we can become gods, have our own planet and share it with hundreds of wives so we can copulate throughout eternity and raise thousands of spirit children, who will then become gods etc..etc..

Now according to the mormons Satan & Jesus were brothers who both had to present a plan of salvation for the earth to a panel of god's. And Jesus won by presenting the best plan. This to me sounds exactly the same as some of copeland's teachings that God lives on a planet. and that He is remarkably like you and me. And that you and I could have atoned for the sins of the world.

God is unique. What makes Him unique are His charecteristics of Deity i.e

He is Omnipotent.

He is Omnipresent.

He is omniscient.

and He is Eternal. from everlasting to everlasting.

Untill we share those same characteristics (which we never will) we are not even in the same ball-park.

I await with baited breath for you to show us scriptural proof for these teachings like you said you will.

A couple of the points are just common sense. When His Spirit was restored into fellowship with the father, it was "born again." If you will listen closely to Copeland, he does not say we are "little Gods." He says we were created to be "little Gods." Huge Difference.

"You're all God. You don't have a God living in you; you are one! ... When I read in the Bible where God tells Moses, 'I AM,' I say, 'Yah, I am too!'" (Ken Copeland"The Force of Love," Tape BBC-56).

"Don't be disturbed when people accuse you of thinking you are God ... They crucified Me for claiming I was God. I didn't claim that I was God; I just claimed that I walked with Him and that He was in Me. Hallelujah! That's what you're doing ..." (Ken Copeland"Take Time to Pray," Believer's Voice of Victory, 2/87, p. 9).

"He allowed the devil to drag Him into the depths of hell as if He were the most wicked sinner who ever lived ... Every demon in hell came down on Him to annihilate Him ... [They] tortured Him beyond anything that anybody has ever conceived ... In a thunder of spiritual force, the voice of God spoke to the death-whipped, broken, punished spirit of Jesus ... [in] the pit of destruction, and charged the spirit of Jesus with resurrection power! Suddenly His twisted, death-wracked spirit began to fill out and come back to life ... He was literally being reborn before the devil's very eyes. He began to flex His spiritual muscles ... Jesus Christ dragged Satan up and down the halls of hell ... Jesus ... was raised up a born-again man ... The day I realized that a born-again man had defeated Satan, hell, and death, I got so excited ... !" (Ken Copeland"The Price of it All," Believer

As well as false teaching perhaps we should also consider false prophecy:

KEN COPELAND ON ISLAM

"And there are going to be multiplied millions upon millions, there's going to be close to a billion people that have been trapped in that religion, that over the next few months are gonna to come into the kingdom of God. (cheering) That's gonna happen, you watch and see what I'm telling you. Because its been ... I'm telling you Satan's fat is in the fire he pushed it over the line, and God has moved, and for over a hundred years the United States has been an instrument of judgment in the hand of God. That's one of the reasons we're blessed, amen? I'd like to get in there and walk around a while but I don't have the time but I can tell you this, that thing has come to an end, its over, I'm talking about Islam and every, all that that stands for. That's over with. Now, God is making His move."

Kenneth Copeland, Word of Life Christian Center, Honolulu HI, Dedication Celebration Service, Evening, Dec. 2, 2001

It must have happened without me seeing it.

Acording to the Bible test of a prophet in Deuteronomy 18:20-22 Copeland fails that too.

2 Cor 4: 3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

7But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

8We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

9Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

10Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

11For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

12So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

hr.jr........The god of this world, not Earth, simply means that the people on Earth who do not worship God are followers of their father the devil. The Bible also says "their god is their belly" do we then say that God gave the Earth to Adam and he gave it to bellys? C'mon bro........this false doctrine has been exposed and there should be nothing else we need to say.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
