Grace to you,

Silent S,

The Lord made it very clear that we will not the day nor the hour of His coming. No one knows save the Father in heaven.

However we can know the time it draws near and we can prepare ourselves in Christ for that day.

Matthew 24 is a very good read on this very question.

Read it and ask the Lord to give you understanding. Also get some Good Christian Commentaries on the subject of Matthew 24. Spend time in prayer and draw nigh unto God. Ask him for Revelation.

A quick answer for you would be that when the sky darkens and the clouds begin to roll in. As well when you hear the crack of thunder. You know that there is a storm rolling in.

Be Blessed. :(

Peace,

Dave

The phrase "sign of times" is not actually in the Bible. Most people use it when referring to events that are really, really bad to indicate that "the end is near." Most believers point to the discourse in Matt. 24 as being full of "signs of the times," namely earthquakes, wars, rumors of wars, etc. Most bible scholars would say that Matt. 24 is concerned with the times during the Tribulation, in which we don't have those things as "signs" per se right now, since we are not in the Tribulation.

As Dave said, we will not know the day nor the hour but reading Revelations might help you understand what is about to come. I personally believe we are living in pre-tribulation days. Since we know not the hour, be ready SilentSon to receive Him. Also... if you hear trumpets coming from no where and hoofbeats? I think you'll know :emot-hug:

My understanding has always been that wars, and rumors of wars, and shortening days, weather changes, and other things like AIDS outbreak etc. are a sign that the end is near. Although as the others have said we will never know the exact time. Do I have a good perception or have I been misguided? Please reply as I am trying to learn.

There are many signs through the years and I believe one of them, a big one is this war between Israel and Lebanon. The weather is changing, there is so much violence and poverty and people starving. The Lord will pour out His Holy Spirit so that all can hear His word. I personally believe we are in pre tribulation times and the end is coming but we can't say when. Noone knows that but the Lord. Just be ready, be repentant and praise Him. Be joyful!! :emot-handshake:

people have a habit of seeing the end times in any and every situation...how many years have we seen street preachers carrying boards saying repent the end is near ??

However we do need to be ready , Gods time is not our time and althought we may say "near" we have no way of knowing if that "near" is moments away or centuries away we are just called to be ready at all times not to waste our time in speculation about Gods timing. :taped:

The simple rule of thumb is:

There are no signs preceding the rapture of the Church

There are many signs preceding the Second Advent

We have been living in the "last days" since the death and resurrection of Christ. Only the Father knows when Christ will return. And above all, remember this verse:

An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign--Matt. 12:39

The things you mentioned are some of the signs. The condition of the church is another sign. Notice the countless denominations. All the different beliefs. All preaching Christ but different from one another. This is one of the signs that should be closely watched.

In Proverbs we read...Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge...Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Christ says "ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it will be opened onto you".

When you pray, pray the Lord's Prayer in Jesus' name and ask God for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Ask Him to help you understand His Word.

There's a million books out there that will tell you how to get closer to God. But believe me when I tell you this...the only book you need is the bible. The answer to all your question's can be found in that book.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. But don't take people at their word. See what the bible has to say. Stick with that book and you'll never go wrong.

Prayer plays a big part in the learning process.

Draw near to the Lord and He will draw near to you.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
