Hi...

I am whiteeagle0's mother...and I had a question that I am very worried about. I just read something on another website, that if you do not keep all the commandments that you are going to hell. My father was saved....he read his bible, sought after God, prayed daily but, did not I think understand about keeping the Sabbath. He went to church on Sundays...and when he was not feeling well could not make it. He did not know about keeping the Sabbath. I know somewhere in the Bible, maybe James, that if you "knowingly" find out the truth, and do not do it...then you are held accountable...hence lose salvation. But is my father in hell for not knowingly keeping the Sabbath? He accepted Jesus in his heart..and loved him dearly. And I felt God putting upon my heart when I get worried about my dad,....that my dad is with him. But now I feel like what if I made it up in my head? What if he is not there?

Anyone that can answer me...I would appreciate it...right now I am very distraught.

God Bless,

Rachel

Oh, no, Eagle's mom. :) Someone's been filling your head with legalistic bull! :P

All that's required of us for salvation is recognizing our sinfulness, and asking the Lord to be our Savior. :36: There's nothing more we have to do than recieve. We can add nothing. People who go to hell are those who won't admit they can't save themselves or who deny there's anything to be saved from. If your dad was saved, he's in Heaven.

My dad was on the fence until his deathbed. He'd heard the Gospel, but I don't think he ever accepted until he knew he was dying. The commandments he didn't keep! :39: But I'm looking forward to seeing him again in Heaven. Just like you'll see your dad. :41:

Dear Rachel

I truly believe God's Word does not lie!

I also, think this passage is written to, among other things, heal a daughter's heart!

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

(Romans 8:1)

And, Rachel, here is another love note to you from your Jesus.

"He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it.........." (Romans 14:6)

Love, Joe

First of all, the Sabbath day was given to the Jews, never to the Gentiles. Secondarily, Paul write to Christians who were squabbling about THIS SAME ISSUE 2000 years ago: "One man esteemeth one day above another, another man esteemeth all days equally; let each one be fully persuaded in his own mind, and let us live at peace...." One would think that clear advice would have been heeded by all! But alas those who love legalism, and do not think Christ's death is enough for atonement, keep wanting to bring you into bondage. "I would that they were even cut off, who torment you!!"

I want to assure you that your father had done all that was needed for salvation. it is all about Jesus. Jesus + nothing else will get you to heaven. It is not Jesus + law; it is not Jesus + baptism and it is not Jesus + Sabbaths. Wipe your tears now and know that there will only be joy when your dad welcomes you home.

Leonard has given you one scripture that will soothe your soul and there are others. Be content my sister and may God bless you.

Never give heed to anyone who says this person or that person is in hell or going there.

Nobody knows the mind of the Lord. It doesn't matter how much schooling you have, how many times you've read the bible, how many of your prayer's were answered, nobody totally knows the mind of the Lord.

If anyone tells you they do...shake the dust off your feet and walk away.

Dear soul, a much better argument could be made that someone who claims they have kept all the commandments is going to eternal punishment. The Law of God is not a remedy for sin and those who claim they have kept it make God out to be a liar. If a man has faith that Jesus has died for his sins he is assured of appearing before God perfect and justified. The primary purpose of the Law is to expose our sins and drive us to Christ. It can do nothing for us before a holy God except condemn us.

Well, I can tell you that anyone who never repented and confessed the Lord Jesus is definitely in hell if they died already. But what nobody can tell you is exactly who's who. Except possibly some names mentioned in the Bible.

Pay no attention to those dooms day prophets!. God knows the heart :whistling:

Its not up to us to decide or guess who is going to heaven and who isn't .... but I'd say that God's reason for commanding us to love one another and forgive each other, has ALOT to do with whose gonna be in heaven.

Rachel,

You said in your post that your father was saved, that he received Jesus in his heart. You have nothing to fear dear sister. Your dad will be in glory, I believe.

I'm sorry, but you don't know that.

If you wish to make an issue out of this...let's not do it here. That is not what this thread is all about. If you must continue this...out of respect for the OP, start another thread.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
