Exodus 3

1. Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.

2. And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

3. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

4. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

5. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

6. Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

7. And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

8. And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

9. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.

10. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

11. And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?

12. And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.

13. And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?

14. And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

15. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

16. Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:

17. And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

18. And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The Lord God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.

19. And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.

20. And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.

21. And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty.

22. But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.

Exodus 3

## Moses worked for his father in law Jethro and was keeping his flock and on this particular day Moses decided to lead the sheep to the backside of the desert where Mt. Hored is at and it is interesting to note that this Mt. Horeb it is refered to as the mountain of God.

## But Moses went to the backside of the desert and came to this mountain Horeb. And when he does the angel of the Lord appears unto Moses within the flame of fire out of the midst of a bush so basically this bush is on fire and Moses sees and angel of God in the middle of the flame that is burning and as Moses kept looking at this sight he notices that the bush is burning with fire but the bush is not being consumed by the flames of fire and destroyed to ashes.

3. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

4. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

## Now Moses is intrigued by what he is obviously seeing here and he says that within his self that he would turn aside to see this great sight more closely to find out just why this bush is not being burnt to ashes and it is a very strange thing. And when the Lord sees that Moses is turning aside in order to see what is going on with this bush. The Lord calls out to Moses twice calling out his name from the midst of the bush. And Moses answers this voice that is calling out his name and says, Here am I.

## Most people wouldn't stop if they hear their own name being called out in the night time or the day time they would just ignore the calling of God and even if they did hear their name being called their would be few that would actually speak back to the voice and say, Here am I as so many of the people in the bible did when they were called by name.

7. And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

## As Moses is still approaching this burning bush the Lord tells him to not come any further but for him to take off his shoes from his feet because the place where he was standing on was holy ground. The Lord proceeded to tell Moses who He was that was talking with him and it was the God of thy father the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses got afraid and hid his face and didn't look upon God in the bush.

## And the Lord begins to tell Moses that he has surely seen all the affliction of his people that was in Egypt and how they was made slaves because they were a blessed people and they have had to endure afflictions just because of it. But he tells Moses that he seen their afflictions and has heard their cry by reason of the taskmasters and that he knew their sorrows. And that is a very comforting thought as God knows our sorrows.

## The Lord tells Moses further that I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land a land flowing with milk and honey the land of Canaan. I also like the words that it says God heard and seen what they was going through he knew their sorrows and that he had come down to deliver them out of the Egyptians hand. Just as he promised to father Abraham in Genesis 15:13-14 God had come down like he promised and now was going to deliver the children of Israel out of Eyptian and that he would judge that people for what they done to them.

## Then the Lord tells Moses that the cry of the children of Israel is come up unto me and I have seen their opression from the Egyptians. I want you to come now because I want to send you unto Pharoah so that you can bring my people out of Egypt. Now if you don't want to be sent then don't answer the call when you hear your name because God surely has a purpose for you and will send you forth to do it for him. And Moses is finding this out and he says back to God who is he that he should be sent to Pharaoh and that he should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt. Now Moses here could also been afraid for his own life as well as it was know he killed and Egyptian and Pharaoh wanted to kill him as Moses probably had no knowledge that that Pharoah had died. Just a thought but Moses is very insecure here to accomplish what God wants him to do.

## The Lord assured Moses that He would be with Him and gave Moses a token to him personally as proof that the Lord had sent him and was with him. that token would be when he brought them out of Egypt that he would lead them back to this same mountain Mt. Horeb and serve God there.

## Then Moses says to God whenever he goes to the children of Israel as tells them that the God of your fathers has sent me to you then they are going to ask me What is his name? so what do I tell them. And God reply was to tell them I AM THAT I AM just tell them I AM has sent me to you.

15. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

## God further told Moses that you tell my people that the Lord God of your fathers the God of Abraham the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob has sent you unto them and this is my name for ever, and this is "MY" memorial unto "all" generations. A memorial is set up to celebrate a commemorative event in order to honor something. And surely what God did for these children of Israel was indeed a "Memorial" to all generations to honor the great I AM when they were made slaves just because they were growing in number and oppressed and afflicted because of the blessings of God enslaved and had to serve with hard rigour.

## God instructs Moses to go and get the elders of Israel together and tell them I have appeared to you and tell them I have surely visited you and have seen all that was being done to them in Egypt.

And as I foretold Abraham Isaac and Jacob that I would bring you out of Egypt and bring you into the land of Canaan to a land flowing with milk and honey. It is just like God when he came to us while we were yet sinners without God the Lord heard our cry when we called out in faith for forgiveness of sin he saw our sorrow and afflictions and heard our cry and came to us as the great I AM and delivered us from sins bondage.

## The Lord told Moses that the elders would listen to him and that the elders along with him should go to the king of Egypt and tell him that the Lord of the Hebrews has met with you and you are to let us go and we beseech you urgently to let us go three days journey out into the wilderness so that we may sacrifice unto the Lord our God.

19. And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.

## Then the Lord tells Moses that he is sure that the Pharaoh will not at all let his people go not without seeing the mighty hand of His.

20. And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.

## Then God tells Moses because Pharaoh want let my people go without me showing my hand to him. I am going to strech out my hand and smite Egypt with all my wonders that I am going to do in their midst and it will be afterwards that he will eventually let my people go.

## God goes on to say I am going to give my people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians and it is going to come to pass that whenever you go out of Egypt that my people are not going out empty handed. But when that time comes I want you to tell all the women to borrow from her neighbour and from them that lives in the house with them jewels of silver of gold and raiment and you put them on your children to wear and you are going to spoil the Egyptians as you go out of the land.

I'm posting 2 chapters today because I will be out of town tomorrow for my 24th wedding anniversary.

Exodus 4

1. And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The Lord hath not appeared unto thee.

2. And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.

3. And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

4. And the Lord said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

5. That they may believe that the Lord God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.

6. And the Lord said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.

7. And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.

8. And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

9. And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

10. And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

11. And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?

12. Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

13. And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.

14. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.

15. And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.

16. And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.

17. And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.

18. And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

19. And the Lord said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.

20. And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

21. And the Lord said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

22. And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

23. And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

24. And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the Lord met him, and sought to kill him.

25. Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.

26. So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.

27. And the Lord said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.

28. And Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.

29. And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:

30. And Aaron spake all the words which the Lord had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.

31. And the people believed: and when they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

Exodus 5

1. And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.

2. And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.

3. And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the Lord our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.

4. And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens.

5. And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens.

6. And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying,

7. Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves.

8. And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.

9. Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labour therein; and let them not regard vain words.

10. And the taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spake to the people, saying, Thus saith Pharaoh, I will not give you straw.

11. Go ye, get you straw where ye can find it: yet not ought of your work shall be diminished.

12. So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble instead of straw.

13. And the taskmasters hasted them, saying, Fulfil your works, your daily tasks, as when there was straw.

14. And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore?

15. Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants?

16. There is no straw given unto thy servants, and they say to us, Make brick: and, behold, thy servants are beaten; but the fault is in thine own people.

17. But he said, Ye are idle, ye are idle: therefore ye say, Let us go and do sacrifice to the Lord.

18. Go therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks.

19. And the officers of the children of Israel did see that they were in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your daily task.

20. And they met Moses and Aaron, who stood in the way, as they came forth from Pharaoh:

21. And they said unto them, The Lord look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.

22. And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?

23. For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.

Exodus 4

## Now Moses thinks he knows more than God here about the the Egyptians and Pharah as he says to God that they are not going to believe me not listen to what I have to say and surely they are not going to believe that you have appeared to me.

## As Moses is thinking more than likely back how that he himself was brought up in Pharaoh's own house and has killed an Egyptian and is probably pretty much rejected by the Pharaoh now and mud in their eyes. So Moses is believing for whatever reason that the king of Egypt is not at all going to believe God appeared to him.

## So God then asks Moses what does he have in his hand? And Moses said a rod. Seeing Moses was keeping his father in laws flock the rod was more or less a shepherd's rod he has in his hand holding at the time. And God tell Moses to throw it down to the ground and Moses throws his rod down to the ground and when he does his rod becomes a serpent and Moses fled out of the snakes pathway. (I would have fled from the scene and not came back snakes ewwwwe big fear of them myself)

## Then God tells Moses to reach down there and to pick the serpent up by the tail. Moses then does what God says and reaches down and catches the snake by the tail and when he does the serpent turns back into the rod in which he was carrying in his hand. What an encounter with God this man Moses has it's amazing.

## God further tells Moses after the serpent turns back into his rod. For him to put his hand into his bosom and he did and when Moses took it out again his hand was leprous as snow now the serpent was pretty scary and amazing but to put your hand in your bosom and take it out again and have leprousy on it so bad it looks like snow that's a pretty serious case of leprosy I can't even begin to imagine what is going on in the heart and mind of Moses. But God tells him to put his hand back into his bosom again and he does and pulls it out again and his hand is like normal again.

## God then tells Moses that if they will not believe you and will not listen to what you tell them by the first sign of the rod becoming a serpent when you cast it before Pharaoh then they will believe the voice of the latter sign for sure.

9. And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

## God further said if they want believe both of these first two signs of the rod turning into a serpent and your hand turning leprous and back to normal again in their site then you are to take some of the water from the river and pour it out on dry land and the water in which you take out of the river and pour out before Pharaoh it will become blood as it pours out on the dry ground.

## Now Moses is all stressed out it seems by this undertaking here that the Lord is asking him to do and he begins to speak to the Lord and says hey Lord I am not eloquent and I haven't be eloquent since you have been speaking to thy servant but you know I am slow of speech and have a slow tongue as I have been talking with you. And God asked Moses three questions one Who had made man's mouth? answer it was He God Himself that created the mouth of man. two Who made the dumb, deaf or the seeing, or the blind? answer once again it was God Himself that create the dumb, the deaf, the one's who could see and the one's who couldn't see and were blind? then the third question Have not I the Lord? answer yes it is the Lord God who created man individually as he saw fit to create him physical flaws and handicaps and all.

## Then God says to Moses now this being the case you go, and I am going to be with thy mouth and I am going to teach you what you will say for me.

## Now Moses is really still distraught by his slow speech that he asks the Lord if he would send someone along with him in order to speak for him in his stead. And God gets angry at Moses for this request and was unhappy with Moses. Then God asks Moses is not Aaron the Levite his brother? because I know he can talk well and behold he is coming forth to meet you and when he see's you he is going to be glad in his heart to see you.

## And when Aaron comes out to meet you then you tell him the words that I speak to you and I will be with your mouth and tell you what to do. And Aaron will be thy spokeman unto the Egyptians for you in your stead. And Aaron will be to you a mouth piece and you shall be to him my voice instead of me speaking to Aaron directly.

## Now God told Moses to take the rod with him because with it he would do signs. So Moses returned to his father in law Jethro no doubt a changed man after seeing the angel in the burning bush the bush burning but never is consumed then he comes closer to the bush to find out what is going on and then God begins to speak and make his self known to Moses and then his shepherd's rod is turned into a snake and his hand turns leprous and God instructs Moses what he wants him to do on his behalf.

## So Moses is a changed man at heart as he returns and tells Jethro who he is working for to let him go so he can return back to his kindred that are in bondage in Egypt to see if they were yet alive. And Jethro tells Moses to Go in peace.

19. And the Lord said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.

20. And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

## Again God tell Moses while he is in Midian to go and return to Egypt and let's him know that all the men who sought to take his life for killing the Egyptians are all dead now so that he doesn't have to worry about that. So Moses loads up his wife and his sons and returns back to the land of Egypt and Moses took along his shepherd's rod carrying it in his hand.

21. And the Lord said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

## God further tells Moses when he gets to Egypt for him to see that he does all the wonders and signs before the Pharaoh which he put in his hand to do. But then he tells Moses straight outright that the thought of me is going to harden Pharaoh heart and he is not going to regard me and let my people go. In other words he will be hard toward me and not heed to what my will is over his own will and will not listen to you nor let my people go.....and when he does this......

22. And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

23. And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

## you tell Pharaoh thus saith the Lord that Israel is my son, even my firstborn: and I tell you to Let my son go, that he may serve me and if you refuse to let him go behold I am going to kill thy son even thy firstborn. Now that is a pretty stern and serious warning that the Lord was going to give to Pharaoh if he did not let the children of Israel go the firstborn among nations that God redeemed. The chosen nation that came from the sons of Jacob that were being held captive because of the blessings of God upon them as a people. A people who were held in bondage and not able to serve the God of their forefathers like God intended for them to do.

## So God is going to tell ole Pharaoh if you refuse to let my firstborn son Israel go then I am going to slay thy son as well and it will also be thy firstborn son that was born to thee and you will not be able to save or redeem him back either. Romans 9 & Hebrews 12:23 But the nation of Israel is special to God as they are literally the firstborn out of all the nations of the earth that God brought into existence on the face of the earth. God is redeeming them showing them His mercy and his mighty hand of deliverance as they were the first nation to cry out to God on the face of the earth because of their oppressions upon them and God hearkened unto their cry and now is going to redeem them and deliver them out of slavery.

## And while Moses and his family was staying in an inn over night while on their way to Egypt the Lord met with Moses and seeks to kill him. And Zipporah Moses's wife takes a sharp stone and cut's off the foreskin of her son (ouch) and throws down at the feet of Moses and tell him that surely he was a bloody husband to her. And after Zipporah circumised her son the Lord let him go and then Zipporah says again that Moses was a bloody husband because of the circumicision.

## As all the Hebrews were circumised in their flesh on the eighth day Genesis 17:10; 21:4 but the other nations did not practice this as the other nations are considered the uncircumcision. And Zipporah seemed to know why God was going to kill her husband as it was because of the circumcision and Moses never circumcised his own sons so she circumcised her own firstborn son and threw his foreskin at his feet. As Zipporah was a Midianite woman and not Hebrew as the children of Israel. But what she did saved Moses life as God was going to kill him and Zipporah was mad at Moses because of this practice.

## God visits Aaron and tells him to go out into the wildernes to meet Moses just like God told Moses earlier Aaron was going to do. And Aaron obeys God and goes out and meets up with Moses and kisses him. And Moses tells Aaron about all the words of the Lord and how he sent him and about all the signs that the Lord told him to do. And then these two go to the elders and gets them together and Aaron tells them all the things that the Lord told to Moses and he did the signs in their sight being the rod turning to the serpent and the hand in the bosom turning to leprosy and then back to normal. And they believed Moses was sent by God and that the Lord had indeed visited the children of Israel in their generation and was looking upon their afflictions as they had cried out to God and God had indeed heard their cries and was responding to them and had sent Moses to lead them out of bondage and when they realize and believe this to be true they all bow their heads and begin to worship God.

Exodus 5

## Now after the elders finish worship God Moses and Aaron go in before Pharaoh and tell him thus saith the Lord God of Israel let my people go so that they can hold a feast to me out in the wilderness. But Pharaoh did just what God said he would do He hardened his heart to God and would not listen to Him. Pharaoh attitude was Who is the Lord that he should obey his voice to let Israel go? Pharaoh say I don't know this Lord you are speaking about nor will I let Israel go.

## Now it was because Pharaoh did not know who the Lord God really was the God of the entire universe here that was speaking to him here that he was not at all going to regard his words so Pharaoh is hard towards the Lord's voice and refuses to let the people of Israel go because of the words Moses and Aaron brought to him.

## But Moses and Aaron went on to tell Pharaoh that the God of the Hebrews had met with them and to let them go for three days in order that they may go out into the wilderness and do sacrifice unto the Lord their God lest the Lord fall upon them with pestilence or with sword.

## But Pharaoh's reply was that they only wanted to let the people go out to the wilderness to take the people from their work. and for them to get back to their burden. And Pharaoh said that the people of the land are many and ye make them rest from their burdens.

## And later on after all of the in the same day Pharaoh gives the order for the taskmasters and their officiers telling them not to give the Hebrews any straw to make bricks with to let them go out into the field and gather it for themselves instead. And tell the Hebrews that they have to make the same tale of bricks that they made before without fail because they were idle crying out wanting to go in the wilderness to do sacrifice to their God. So let more work be given to them so that they may labour therein so they want be regarding vain words or idle talk among themselves.

## The taskmasters and officiers go out and do as they was told to do by Pharaoh as they tell the Hebrew children that they was not going to give them straw anymore and that they had to go out into the fields and get it wherever they could find it at. And that the tale of bricks they made had to be the same as before. So the Hebrew children were forced to go out in the fields and gather up stubble instead of the straw that had been given to them before. And the taskmasters road their backs trying to make them fulfill the same tale of bricks each day as they had made when straw was given to them.

## Now when the Hebrews could not put out the same tale of bricks each day as before the officiers that was over the children of Israel which the taskmasters of Pharaoh had set up over the Israelites were then taken and beaten and it was demanded of them to tell why the same tale of bricks were not being made as before? They had to give account of why they were not getting the job done that was commanded by Pharaoh. After they was beaten they came and cried out to Pharaoh telling him that he was dealing with the very harshly because there was no straw that was being provided unto his servants and you say to us make bricks and beat us but the fault is not ours but the fault is in thine own people who don't give us straw but make us gather but stubble from the fields it is impossible for us to do what you ask of us to do.

## And they was no reasoning with Pharaoh and he said ye are idle, ye are idle because you say let us go do sacrifice to the Lord in your idleness and talk. So go and work for no straw will be given and you shall make the same tale of bricks. And the officiers that was beaten that was set over the Israelites knew that they was in a evil situation here after Pharaoh still said no straw will be given and the same tale of bricks are to be made daily in their tasks.

## So the officiers leave Pharaoh's presence and on their way out they meet with Moses and Aaron who was on their way to meet with Pharaoh themselves. and the officiers tell them the lord look upon you and judge because they had made their savour to be a thing was abhorred and depised in the Pharaoh's eyes and in the eyes of his servants to put a sword in their hand to slay them by reason of the work that they was responsible to see the Hebrew children got out as they were responsible and set over them to see that it got done and it was an impossible task to do. And they had already been beaten and was afraid for their lives if they didn't get the same tale of bricks out.

22. And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?

23. For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.

## So after Moses hears this he returns to the Lord to pray and he asks the Lord why had he dealt with the people in such and evil way and why is it that he had sent him to them because ever since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name he has only done more evil to your people and you have not delivered your people at all. as Moses is scratching his head not understanding his purpose in all of this and is entreating God in this regards why things are not panning out like he thinks they ought to be and it seems only things are getting worse instead of better. (I have been in that spiritual state myself before not a good place to be at).

Exodus 6

1. Then the Lord said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

## Now as Moses is telling God that things are not getting any better but worse since he got back to Egypt God speaks to Moses and tells him that now you are going to see what I am going to do unto Pharaoh. For with a strong hand he will let my people go and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.

2. And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the Lord:

3. And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

4. And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.

## And further tells Moses that I am the Lord and that He had appeared unto Abraham, Isaac and Jacob by the name "God Almighty" but by my name "Jehovah" was I not known to them. I had established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan which was the land of thier pilgrimage wherein they were strangers at.

5. And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.

6. Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:

## God tell Moses again that he has heard the groanings of the children of Israel in whom are kept in bondage and he has remembered his covenant of promise. And God tells Moses to tell his people "I am the Lord" and I'll bring them out from under their burdens and take them from the bondage and will redeem you with a stretched out arm and great judgments.

7. And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

8. And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the Lord.

## Then God says how he will bring them out he tells Moses to tell also what he will do with them and that was God would take them for a people and I will be your God and you will know that "I am the Lord your God" that brought you out from your bondage and burdens. And God further told Moses to tell them that he was going to bring then to a land that he promised to give to Abraham, Isaac and to Jacob and I am going to it it to the children of Israel for an heritage "I am the Lord."

9. And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.

## Then Moses goes back and tells the Hebrew children what all God had told him but the people didn't listen and believe Moses for anguish of spirit and for the cruel bondage that was placed on them before having to make the same tale of bricks without any straw being given to them.

10. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

11. Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

12. And Moses spake before the Lord, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?

## The Lord speaks to Moses again and tell him to go in and talk to Pharaoh and tell him to let the children of Israel go out of his land. And Moses say the children of Israel did not listen to me and Pharaoh will not hear me either, who am of uncircumicised lips.

13. And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

## So then the Lord speaks both to Moses and to Aaron and gives them a charge unto the children of Israel and to Pharaoh to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt which are listed in verses 14-25 below........

14. These be the heads of their fathers' houses: The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel; Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi: these be the families of Reuben.

15. And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman: these are the families of Simeon.

16. And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: and the years of the life of Levi were an hundred thirty and seven years.

17. The sons of Gershon; Libni, and Shimi, according to their families.

18. And the sons of Kohath; Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel: and the years of the life of Kohath were an hundred thirty and three years.

19. And the sons of Merari; Mahali and Mushi: these are the families of Levi according to their generations.

20. And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were an hundred and thirty and seven years.

21. And the sons of Izhar; Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.

22. And the sons of Uzziel; Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Zithri.

23. And Aaron took him Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Naashon, to wife; and she bare him Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

24. And the sons of Korah; Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph: these are the families of the Korhites.

25. And Eleazar Aaron's son took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bare him Phinehas: these are the heads of the fathers of the Levites according to their families.

26. These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom the Lord said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.

## All of the above are the ones God gave both Moses and Aaron charge to speak unto the Israelites and unto Pharoah to bring out of the land of Egypt according to their armies or clans

27. These are they which spake to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron.

28. And it came to pass on the day when the Lord spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt,

29. That the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, I am the Lord: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee.

30. And Moses said before the Lord, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?

## So both Moses and Aaron obeyed God and went and spoke to the children of Israel and the Pharaoh like God commanded them to do. And on the day that the Lord spoke to Moses in Egypt on that same day the Lord spoke to Moses and told him I am the Lord tell Pharaoh all that I tell you and Moses still feeling so inadequate and says to the Lord Look I am of uncircumcised lips and Pharaoh will not listen to me.......

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
