I submit this as an appropriate apology the Pope should make:

I extremely sorry that Muslims misinterpreted the quotes I read from a 14th century monk and applied the violence, brutality and non productive contributions to civilization he attributed to Mohammad and his followers to their own behavior.

I am deeply saddened that Muslims are now engaging in violent, brutal and non civilized actions to demonstrate their misunderstanding of what I purposely quoted in my thoughtful and carefully considered remarks.

No my criticism of you was for yor gleeful little response with your invented quotes, if you can give a source for them, then go ahead and rebut me.

I did. Now admit you were wrong and realize that you generally are.

Here's the quote "How dare you call us killers and intolerant! If you don't apologize for that we'll kill you!" show me the link to it.

lol

Poor ole' iman amor...I wish you could think. Then again, if you could, you'd be pro-Israel.

That was a summarization of how the Muslims have been acting. *sigh*

So you can't source your "quote", when previously you intimated that you could. The response to being challenged on this is pathetic sarcasm.

You are absurd Iman. I just explained that I was mocking their actions. Regardless, you have ignored the article I supplied with the source because it proves you wrong. Not going to let you twist this one Iman.

Why do you resort to insult? I reallyt don't know which article your refering to, if I missed it then I'm sorry. Point it out to me and I'll look, but as it's past my bed-timeI'm not going to trawl through 70 odd posts looking for it.

Oh Amor, does a cat have your tongue or are you just unwilling to admit you were deathly wrong?

Angry Muslims have bombed a church. Why? "We carried out this shooting because of the pope's statement, and he must apologise," a man, who refused to give his name, told AFP.

So there you go Amor...you said I can't predict tomorrow's news, yet here we have my prediction coming correct. Uh oh....and I it wasn't a lucky guess, I merely looked at past and recent events. So Iman Amor, what say you?

You missed this?

My stance is that as a Christian, my primary aim is to try and put my own house in order, because until I do that I can't see how I can minister to others outside. Christianity is in a mess and has moved far from the teachings of Jeus as my postings above highlight. I'm not an authority on the Koran and whether Muslums follow it or not, I do know however that many who call themselves Christian including posters on this board do not follow the Bible. We are told to love our enemies as we love ourselves yet look at the hatred being spewed up against Muslims here, and indeed those of us who question this hatred. Looking at other posts on this board we have a Christian posteradvocating the mass murder with nuclear weapons of people.I see no condemnation of that here. How is that poster's mentality, his commitment to death and destruction any different or any more Christian than that of Bin Laden? How different are Christian and Muslim hate-mongers?

If you believe in ministering towards Muslims instead of vilifying them, how do you think all your angry hate-filled posts here help that? Look at Jesus look at Paul see how they ministered to non-jews be they Samaritans, Romans or Greeks. There attitude was not your attitude. Jesus bought the Centurion's daughter back to life, would you be any where near as kind to the child of a Hamas or Taliban member. Paul preached sensibly and sensitively to the Greeks in Athens he did not indulge his hate like you do.

Amor,

I think I understand what you are saying here and your position. As we would approach any individual Muslim (or anyone else) you are absolutely correct. The problem I see, and the fault that others make reference to, is that you seem to condone the actions of militant Muslims while finding fault with Christians who abhor Islam.

Certainly, we are to always question our motives in reference to what Jesus taught and the Bible teaches. We are to do good to others, love our enemies, etc. But that does not relieve us from the duty to stand against evil when we find it. I can speak out against homosexuality while praying for the sinner and trying to bring about his repentance. In other words, love you enemy but hate the sin. Love the individual Muslim but hate Islam.

As to actually helping our enemies when they are wounded in battle or lie sick I think you will find that Israel has done just that. I can give posts and references but it will take a while to find them again. I suggest you go to the site of Brigitte Gabriel and listen to her testimony, a Lebanese Christian caught up in the war of the 80

Sorry I have to say this,.......If a layperson had have said similar to what the pope said at a public meeting, he would either be dead or in hiding. At least didn't kiss the koran like his. predecessor. I'm not a pope fan, but he only said what a lot of bigwigs haven't the guts to say and I applaud his remarks.

I can see why Christiandom has been so quiet about Islam. We are taught that if our actions cause our brother to stumble then we must resist that action. At this point our silence and constant tongue biting has been our undoing. The Islamic world again perceives Christianity as week and passive. While violence is never the answer, we should never be afraid to speak the truth. We are called to be beacons of truth and love to those around us are we not? There are too many people around the world walking around in a cloud of disbelief and misinformation. When we stop holding our tongues and find within us that same fire that Jesus had when he witnessed the money changers in his fathers temple, perhaps the followers of Mohammed will have to think about who they are dealing with.

Well said, some of you people on here.

Death to islam. islam is an evil and dangerous false religion.

I said death to ISLAM, not death to muslims. God loves muslims and wants them to repent and be saved.

mohammed is a false prophet. I spelt his name in lower case letters because I don't want to offer him the honour he gets from his followers, by the way.

Just yesterday, in an article related to the pope's speech, muslims have stated that "Jesus is the slave of allah"

....rubbish!

Death to islam!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
