Matt. 12:31

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

What does that have to do with discouraging cultists from coming to your door?

After I voted I thought of something; the man that used to come and give me rehab was a JW! We agreed not to discuss religion during our sessions, and I told him he's welcome to come to my church.

My father in law is a JW from birth.

I studied with the JWs and Mormons before becoming a Christian 14 years ago.

In the case of the JWs it is truly a brainwashing and then a control issue of the fear of going to hell if you leave or cross them, and no more love from their people, no more fellowship, you are entirely cut off. This is particularly difficult for them to bear because they are usually people who are already lonely and sick and need serious help when the JWs come to their door. Then they receive all this attention and love and more of both. Then it slowly turns into a controlling thing. My mother in law would get calls and visits from them when he was out of town, to make sure she didn't cheat on him or leave him. They would hang up on her and then call all hours of the night. She insists that it is also the JWs publishong house that keeps them in business, and the 10% mandatory you must give to be in good standing. They must buy the literature that is published by watchtower and then give most of it away, usually asking for donations. I used to donate and buy the books from the JWs that came to my door.

JWs can be converted, but it takes love, time and patience. I don't always have those, and fell VERY strongly about my faith and the doctrines which I believe in from scripture.

The Mormons are not allowed to ccome back to my home because they are not reaching their intended purpose.

The JWs stopped coming a while ago.

No way! When they come a-knocking, I love the opportunity--after all, they have come to MY door! They don't know what they are in for! The gospel of Jesus Christ! I usually tell them they need to bring their lunch when they come to my house! :emot-fail:

When they knock on my door, my son yells from the other room. "Hurry up mom, it's time to sacrifice the goat".

They make a hasty retreat.

I know BAD Bad Bad of us.

My fault...I meant Mark 12:31.

I had been looking at Matt. just before that...again my bad...sorry.

Just out of curiosity Marnie, why did you quote Matt. 12:31?

Peace

CJ

That was my fault....it was suppose to be Mark..not Matt.

I fixed it.

I didn't, "man" did, and he meant to quote Mark 12:31--

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Which, in my mind, has nothing to do with turning away a cultist missionary. Now, if a JW or Mormon came to my door, starving or hurt or something, that's different. Compassion knows no label, however, as I said in an earlier post, they dont stand a chance of converting me, nor I them, so why waste eachother's time?

Throwing up a sign that states no JWs or Mormons does nothing but cast a shadow on the Word. To those who do not believe, there is no difference between JWs, Mormons, and us. The only message that you're getting out is that we are more hateful than the JWs and Mormons.

Think about it...Our God is suppose to be a God of love...by showing our hatred to other denominations who also preach Christ...who do you think the nonbeliever is going to listen too?

While I don't generally recommend opening up to JW's, there are times when God might be calling us to witness to them and we lose the opportunity.

I agree. :help:

Mark 2:16-17 - "And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
