    • I am indecisive on most things and don't know what I would do except look at it for a while.

In answer to your question: No.

In response to your other statement, I quote Jesus Himself:

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are." Matt. 23:13-15

Marnie,

What you have quoted here is where Jesus is chastizing the Pharisees of Israel, these were the leaders who lead Israel to the National rejection of the Messiah, they were the generation which committed blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, the unforgiveable sin, the sin of Israel.

I'm not certain how you tie this verse in with th JW's and Mormons?

They neither teach the Law or abide by it.

Peace

CJ

I thought it was obvious. Another poster insinuated that to not let JW's walk all over you is akin to not being Christ-like. My point was NOT the Pharisees, but how Christ treated them. Jesus wasn't all meek and mild; He did have another side, a judgmental and decisive side.

Would Jesus have ever said "Please, No JW's or Mormon's?" I don't think so. If we close our door to them, we may as well close it to everyone? When they come to your door, you have a captive audience.

Recently, two young men from the mormon church came to our door, on a sunday afternoon. i was napping on the couch, and woke up when i heard the doorbell. I heard my husband speaking to them outside when if I finally got up and joined the conversation. We spoke to them for quite a while. They finally said they would like to get together with us and 'study' sometime. So, I invited them back to my house the following Sunday to our cell group. Our pastor came that same night. They were really drawn into the contemporary worship. I havent seen them since that night, but our pastor sees them frequently and is building a relationship with them.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling, but why would we close a door that God has opened by rejecting them before they even get to the door?

There needs to be a new one. "Warning to all JW, Christian in the house, if you want to learn the real truth about our Lord, Please Knock."

Personally, I constantly strive to carry God's Good News of everlasting salvation TO Mormons & Jehovah's False Witnesses by knocking on THEIR doors, and even offering their "missionaries" carefully-selected, clear-cut & applicable Christian literature at their church or "Kingdom Hall" (which isn't here yet!) doors. First, get their names & addresses, then place them on your own Contact List. Jesus said, "Go ye," and this must also include cultists of whatever stripe...even on their own turf! MarketPlace evangelism indeed!

I know I am talking to space here, but, again I quite JESUS HIMSELF here:

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are." Matt. 23:13-15

My point: they are a captive audience on a mission to convert you. You do not have be to quite as tough as Jesus was, you can be polite and say "No." Look at what our Lord did, He called them names and called them "sons of Hell!" I am not saying we should do that, but I am saying there are more effective way to share the Gospel than to argue with a cultist missionary. I wouldn't waste my time with them or an insurance salesman or the Fullerbrush man, or either. My home is what it is.

Eh, I give up. I guess you're all saints. :24:

Amen! :24:

I wouldn't recommend a new believer to attempt to confront a JW or Mormon, as they have a knack for being able to instill doubt. As a believer who knows what JW's and Mormons are genarally about, and have entertained JW's in my home for a little "study", my aim is to sow a little doubt in them!

I think that non believers would buy it.

I think that lukearm believers would buy it, and especially if it read "Please, no solicitors, including religious- thank you."

And obviously 1/3 of stronger believers would, according to the poll.

Heck, hardware stores would make a killing on these and so would Christian bookstores.

Hi, I'm a Mormon and about to depart on a mission for two years, what advice would you give to me before i leave?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
