The coming Messiah

actually there is no word for "peace" in Islam when referring to anyone outside of the Muslim faith. Only "hudna" which means cease fire (for the purpose of re-arming).

But I don't think that is a problem. Arafat has always talked out of both sides of his mouth. He'll give a speach in Arabic saying that all jews should be made to drink the Dead Sea, then he'll say one sentence in English like, "I am ready for a cease fire" and the press reports that he's interested in peace.

So a "peace plan" could be sold to the muslims and/or arabs wiht the underlying understanding that it's only temporary.

I hung out with an Israeli businessman last week who told me that they see peace negotiations only in short terms. If they can get 7 years of peace, they'll take it....which tells me they are ripe for a big lie because they think they can always fight their way out of it.

What if the "abomination of desolation" standing in the holy place is the rebuilt temple itself constructed by order of the antichrist through the covenant he makes. The covenant is referred to as a holy covenant isn't it? Would if the covenant were a peace pact between Jews, Muslims, and Christians having as a condition the rebuilding of the temple. Many Jews would then see him as their messiah. Any coments?

the covenant will definitely have to be between the 3 major religions for it to have any weight (if you are of the opinion this is yet future) but Yeshua indicated what the abomination would be when He referred to Daniel.

This is talking about an idol in the Holy Place or possibly unclean sacrifices on the altar. This was fulfilled 150 BC (and Jesus referred to it) as well as in 70 AD (which Jesus already prophecied of)

But I understand that many still think it's coming again. I'm not necessarily convinced either way.

I have a hypothetical to throw out there. I just thought of this so I haven't really researched if it is possible but if it isn't I know you guys will dash it to teeny tiny bits but here goes.

The only scriptural problem I have with that theory is this scripture which I am certain is speeking of the abomination of desolation.

The only scriptural problem I have with that theory is this scripture which I am certain is speeking of the abomination of desolation.

II Thess. 2

4: Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

The rest of what you said is what I believe is going to happen. I just don't think the peace pact is the abomination of desolation. I believe the covenant is a peace treaty that includes the sacrificing and Temple that will be broken. Only then will the abomination of desolation be set up as described in the scripture I quoted which breaks the covenant. And the pease treaty may only be with the Palistinians, not the entire muslem world. By reading Daniel 11 it apears there will be some conflict in the reigon even after the treaty is made.

take care

You mean the "who opposeth....all that is called God" part? This verse isn't a clincher for me because it doesn't mention the abomination but I think you are right about the abomination being set up after the building of the temple. It's a lot clearer in Daniel. However, that doesn't mean that the temple isn't a part of his plan.

it is called the "Covenant with the many" so it could be the world-wide all-encompasing agreement on the status of Jerusalem as an international religious capitol which the Vatican has been pushing for a while.

It would have to include most, if not all, of the Arab nation for Israel to consider it "peace"

I was thinking that if the anti christ is able to set up his rule from Jerusalem, is it possible that the Jews will at first (first 3 1/2 years) think that he is the promised messiah. Is it possible that he could also be of Jewish descent. Many bible scholars believe that Gog the leader of Magog will be a leader of Russia. I think most of us would agree that the Lord's return will be soon and I believe that Alexander Putin's mother is a Jew. Could he be the one? Also the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place, do you think this will be a rebuilt temple or could it be referring to the dome of the rock? Which stands on the Jewish holy place?

The anti-christ will set his throne up in rome. The first 31/2 year has already happened with Jesus Christ being rejected by the Jews. The second 3/12, for the seven promised to the Jews, is still yet to come when the two witnesses go to Irael to speak the Word in Revelations 11:3-13.

Looked it up on Wikipedia.com Vladimir Putin's mother was not Jewish, if she was a Jewish decendent I'M not sure. But in the article it stated that his mother Lyudmila Shkrebneva Putin was an Orthodox Christian. A member of the Russian Orthodox Church. You should read the article on Wikipedia. Though his mother may not be Jewish he sure fits a fine decription of the AntiChrist.

It isn't the antichrist that sets up the abomination of desolation, but Satan.

the anti-christ will be posessed by the devil half way through the tribulation. that's when he requires everyone on the earth to take the mark of the beast.whoever refuses to be marked will be declared an enemy of the one-world-government.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
