ok I see what you mean....but Pastor Joe and Pastor Bob were also taught by man...in whatever college etc...they went too. So couldn't you say that their views and belief systems are based on the ones who taught them?

This was a really good saying actually :wub:

The Catholic Church believes Christ instituted Her as a teaching authority (whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven etc..)and we have been taught by Christ Himself from an unbroken line of Popes since the time of Christ.

Yet, when you have 30,000 different denominations, started by ONE man who decided to revolt against said teaching authority, well, you get belifd systems based upon man and man's own personal interpretation.

Well since Jesus Himself established the Church, and Jesus Himself is present body, blood, soul and Divinity in the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist, and Jesus is the way, then I guess you said it best.

ok the point I am trying to get across isn't working...let me see here....

I guess what I am trying to say is that Angel you believe your last post about the Catholic church being started by ONE man....so it is the only true church...others are flawed....ok for arguments sake lets say ok the Catholic church was started by one man...but through the years there have been many many men in the Catholic church.

I was trying to make the point that the Unbroken lines of Popes are just men...I see alot of room for human mistakes to be made.

By the way Pam I was not trying nor did I itend to imply that I agreed with the Catholic church....I just have a terrible time trying to get a point across.

from what i have been reading, all i know is if i was looking in, not knowing what I know, i would be running,

JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO THE FATHER, and until you get rid of man made doctrine, you will be bound by it.

Jesus did not create doctrine, nor form any, other then rule number one: To love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, all they might, all thy soul.....

rule number two: love thy neighbor as thy self.....

do I see love here? no..... I see strife, hatred, discontent, self pride ( my church, my church, my church )...

it is not about us, nor the denominations nor the church building nor the method of worship........ IT IS ALL ABOUT THE LORD, IT IS ALL ABOUT WHAT GOD DID FOR US, SO THAT WE MAY HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM!!!!

I do not agree with much of the teachings different denominations, nor with teachings of the catholic church ( teachings, that do not exist in the bible ).... and cramming them down peoples throats only makes them puke... and when something makes me puke, i tend to shy away from it......

I know i am just as guilty as the next person, bringing Gods word into arguement, Questioning Gods word, not obeying His word.... for this I have repented, and have asked and gained forgiveness....

I hope that we can stop questioning Gods word, argueing over Gods word...... this is not only upsetting to some people that are reading these thread, but i would say beyond a shadow of a doubt, that it does not please God to see us all fussin over things as this.....

Salvation through Jesus Christ is the only way last time I checked. I will follow the Bible before I follow an organized religion.

Did an organized religion compile the books of the bible? How many times must you be told to read history before you will get it. Organized religion is the only reason we even have a bible, and the only reason a bible has been sustained through 2000 years.

He can freely leave his congregation, and start a new church, (church planting I believe it is called) with their own "divinely established" scriptural doctrines. He will call his church "Open Bible Church".

This chaos has plagued the reformers since the nailing of the thesis to the door!

It goes back much farther than that....

The first rebellion was against the Church at Jerusalem. Antioch started the first "denomination" by breaking off from the ORIGINAL church.

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
