Mormons and JW's profess Jesus as their Lord and Savior, from what the ones who come knocking at my door tell me. I've heard they both are unsaved cults. I know they believe some crazy things, but can someone tell me why they aren't saved?

For one thing they both deny the Deity and Divinity of Jesus, they deny the Trinity, there is more. The Mormons even go so far as to say that Satan and Jesus are (were?) brothers and, if I recall correctly-I may be wrong here, they were both born mortal and attained status as gods through works. The JW's deny Jesus as God, and even their 'translation' labels him as A god (lower case) in the first Chapter of John.

Therefore, they don't really believe in Jesus, not the Jesus of the Bible anyway, so they can't be saved.

There are many other doctrinal areas where they differ from traditional Biblical views. I know that the JW's believe there are only ever 144,000 saved people at any one time, and only saved people have the Holy Spirit. All other JW's are in a kind of 'waiting list' til someone dies and makes room. The Mormons believe that women have only one purpose-forever, and that is to bear young-EVEN in the next life. They also believe in Baptism of the Dead, if you pay enough or atone enough you can save a person who died unsaved ??. The list goes on.

For more information on problems with the Mormons go to the Living Hope Ministries website www.lhvm.org, they are a Salt Lake City based evangelical group trying to help mormons come to know the real Jesus. You can also search the Smithsonian site for information on them (and the JW's). A good Google search will yield lots of good information too. Like how Joseph Smith plagerized at least 3 books to make up the Book of Mormon (the King James Bible being one of them)

Hope this helped

The reason Mormonism is not Christian is because it denies one or more of the essential doctrines of Christianity. Of the essential doctrines (that there is only one God, Jesus is God in flesh, forgiveness of sins is by grace alone, and Jesus rose from the dead physically, the gospel being the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus), Mormonism denies three of them: how many gods there are, the person of Jesus, and His work of salvation.

Mormonism teaches that God the Father has a body of flesh and bones (D. & C. 130:22) and that Jesus is a creation. It teaches that he was begotten in heaven as one of God

Is the Jehovah's Witness religion Christian?

The answer to the question is, "No. It is not Christian." Like all non-Christian cults, the Jehovah's Witness organization distorts the essential doctrines of Christianity. It denies the deity of Christ, His physical resurrection, and salvation by grace. This alone makes it non-Christian. To support its erring doctrines, the Watchtower organization (which is the author and teacher of all official Jehovah's Witness theology), has even altered the Bible to make it agree with its changing and non-Christian teachings.

Typical with cults that use the Bible to support its position is a host of interpretive errors:

*Taking verses out of their immediate context.

*Refusing to read verses in the entire biblical context.

*Inserting their theological presuppositions into the text.

*Altering the Biblical text to suit their needs.

*Latching onto one verse to interpret a host of others.

*Changing the meanings of words.

*Proclaiming some passages to be figurative when they contradict their doctrines.

*Adding to the Word of God.

Additionally, the Jehovah's Witness organization requires of its members regular weekly attendance at their "Bible Study" meetings where they are repeatedly indoctrinated with anti-Christian teachings. This is done by reading the Watchtower magazine, following along with what it says, reading the questions it asks, and reciting the answers it gives. In other words, the Watchtower Organization carefully trains its members to let the Organization do their thinking for them. For confirmation of this, please read Does the Watchtower organization control the JW's thinking?

The Witnesses are told they will be persecuted when they go door to door teaching their doctrines. They are further told that this is simply the enemy fighting against God's organization because they are in "the truth." So, when someone disagrees with them, they are conditioned to reflect on what the Watchtower has told them. They then feel confirmed in being in God's true organization on earth (like all cults claim). They are strongly encouraged to have friends and acquaintances that are only JW

The Board is right on time. It has been bothering me, because this woman that I work with who's classroom is next door to mine, is a JW. She is always talking about Jehovah God. She says Jehovah in front of God to let me know that she isn't talking about Jesus, because they don't believe in the Trinity. They don't believe in hell either, but that doesn't mean thier not going there, if they don't change thier way of thinking. I was just telling my husband this weekend that I need to look up some info to show how false thier beliefs are, because she brought me one of those things they read and it said "The End of False Religion is near! I wanted to tell her so bad that she and all the other JW's are blind, and if they don't open thier eyes and see the light they are headed straight to HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Both Charles Taze Russell's Jehovah's False Witnesses & Joseph Smith's Utah-based cult are ringing examples of only-since-the-19th-century philosophies in direct opposition to essential biblical teachings re God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, eternal destiny, heaven & hell, etc. Their plans of salvation are plans of damnation. They constitute perhaps the two major false cults in the world today which claim to be Christian but are not. The Lord Jesus warned, "By their fruit ye shall know them." Take His words to heart.

Hi jesusaveslives77, I've witnessed to JWs before and I had them look up a few scriptures in their bible. These that I'm showing really made them think and have no answer. Give that lady these and have her look'm up over night.

Is 43:10Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

11I, even I am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

Is 9:6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

John 8: 58Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

The thing ya wanna do is show JWs that there is only one God and Jesus claimed that title in John 8 and Is 9 claims the son given is "The Everlasting Father"...........and if they believe Jesus was of God then they have to acknowledge from there own text that he is God.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
