Why do those crazy Catholics have priests anyway?

They seem to think that it is because of the sacrifice during mass. It's not a new one every time people, nobody is recrucifying Jesus. It is the same sacrifice that he made long ago, it just continues to this day. That just seemed to be the first thing I thought I should say I am sure that there will be plenty to talk about before long.

I made this for you guys who seem so interested, HAVE FUN!!!

The WORD says about our PRIEST. . ONLY JESUS IS OUR PRIEST.

Mat 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Mar 15:38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

JESUS the our high priest.... made the way for us to enter in to the most holy place..... beyond the veil

Hbr 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Hbr 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession.

Hbr 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin.

Hbr 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hbr 5:5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

Hbr 5:10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Hbr 6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, [even] Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hbr 7:26 For such an high priest became us, [who is] holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

Hbr 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken [this is] the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

Hbr 9:7 But into the second [went] the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and [for] the errors of the people:

Hbr 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

Hbr 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

Hbr 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Hbr 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once [for all].

Hbr 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

Hbr 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Hbr 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

Hbr 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Hbr 10:15 [Whereof] the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

Hbr 10:16 This [is] the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

Hbr 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Hbr 10:18 Now where remission of these [is, there is] no more offering for sin.

Hbr 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

Hbr 10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

Hbr 10:21 And [having] an high priest over the house of God;

Hbr 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Hbr 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of [our] faith without wavering; (for he [is] faithful that promised;)

Hbr 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Hbr 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Hbr 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once [for all].

Hbr 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

Hbr 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Hbr 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

Hbr 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Hbr 10:16 This [is] the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

Hbr 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Hbr 10:18 Now where remission of these [is, there is] no more offering for sin.

Hbr 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of [our] faith without wavering; (for he [is] faithful that promised;)

Hbr 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Hbr 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Hbr 13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen.

now from what i have read here the office of priest is all given to JESUS.

NO MORE SACRIFICE. IS NEEDED......

WHEN JESUS DIED ON THAT CROSS WE COULD DO MORE SACRIFICES.. NO MORE WORKS.... ONLY FAITH IN THE LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY WE SILL GET TO HEAVEN.

Jhn 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Peace,

Sounds like a provocation and I will have none of it!

If it leads to discord it will be removed! :unsure:

That is fair warning since some think its not fair to pull threads without warning. :blink:

Bless you,

Dave

Well, I can see how those of you who had not been to the thread entitled "Turning over rocks" would have the misconception that there was no interest in this topic or that I had started this thread to beg a fight. Read through the thread, at least 3 times I stated what the topic was, and noone paid attention, this topic was being used as a way to sidestep the topic at hand and not answer questions that pertained to the subject. Finally, I got tired of the PROVOCATION and attempted to remove the discord from that thread by establishing another as a means of ending the discussion about something superfluous to the topic already in play. I will have you look back at the things directed towards me in this thread, think about the way it would be interpretted by the one on the receiving end, and then realize that maybe, just maybe, it's not all the Catholic's fault if there are disagreements on this board. The people around here have a list of their favorite questions to ask Catholics which are typically insulting in some way and are usually from an entirely fallacious assumption. When I was 'found out' to be Catholic(not that I was hiding it), the members of this board immediately changed their demeanor towards me, it went from friendly, to vicious and no matter what kind of sentimental line you put at the end of an attack, the spirit of the action remains, as this is not a live conversation where such an action may smooth over preceeding comments. Just thought I would expound on my thoughts and actions as I had been misread again, try taking off the Protestant goggles(as someone said to the Catholics) and the situation may not seem so bleak.

Peace brother,

I have called you brother many times. There is no bias here. You are entitled to your opinion. Remember it is your opinion though.

Again we see contention here. When you come and say things like only Catholics are the true church you will get feedback.

I did read that thread and the other adnauseium threads.

It's the same over and over. Very well, you have your belief. Don't expect people to stand still and take that stuff about it being the only way to heaven. Straight is the gate and narrow the way.

I have never said that the Catholic Church was the true church, I may have said something which could be construed as such, but I definitely have not directly stated this. As far as it being the only way to heaven I know I never said anything like that since I do not believe this at all, and, in fact, I have spoken against this.

To assume we didn't read the thread is just again arrogant. I saw no one ask for this thread. Only you assuming once again .

I guess my assumption that people would see my post saying I have started a new topic so you can post your comments there and expecting them to be able to find that topic and post about it in this thread and not the other was arrogant on my behalf. My arrogance may have been my attempt at politeness in saying that one might not understand if he had not visited the other thread instead of saying someone is a liar and they know why I started this thread it is because of what is commonly called strawman tactics, or as I like to call it the Chewbacca defense. When confronted by people randomly introducing new topics all the time when the questions posed are obviously clear and well-defined, I never said go take a ritalin and come back in 30 minutes, I chose to allow for a way for people to discuss that topic and for me to try to keep the original topic focussed without belittling anyone if possible, was I at fault in doing so? I hold as proof of my claim that this topic was only being used to stifle the other by the response to it here, and the fact that no (except for Dr. Luke's) new posts on this topic have been made in the other thread since I made it clear that I had made a thread for this discussion.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
