The article was not about global warming. Again, not news, unless you change the title.

Sorry Ovedya. The point I was trying to make was that this is to say that global warming is just a fantasy.

It was a news item so I put it under "news".

However, you're absolutely right, so sorry again.

Buck, would you mind a suggestion for your news postings? It would help immensely if you would also post the title and the first couple of paragraphs of your news article. That way we can see if it is something of interest to us without having to click the link. For some with dial up, this can be especially frustrating.

For example, with this article, please post it something like this.

Huge icebergs near NZ

An armada of about 100 icebergs was just a few hundred kilometers from Southland last night, prompting warnings for shipping and raising the remote prospect of the first iceberg sighting from the mainland in decades.

The surprised Whenuapai-based crew of an Air Force Orion, on a routine southern patrol looking for illegal fishing, spotted the first of the icebergs about 260km south of Invercargill late yesterday morning.

But how do icebergs in this region directly relate to global warming? As I understand the current debate, the main issue of contention is whether global warming is just part of a natural cycle or directly linked to excessive carbon emissions caused by human consumption.

In the North Atlantic, increased icebergs support the idea of a warming earth. That is, the increased icebergs means the ice sheet is melting, causing the chunks of ice to be broken off and drift into the ocean currents. Perhaps that is what is happening here? I dont know in the case of your article.

You've got a good point there I guess. I just read the article and thought "oh we're supposed to have global warming, then how come we're surrounded by ice'? I will have to admit that I was just "clutching at straws" with this article.

It would seem that there is evidence that global warming does exist but there is also evidence to suggest that it is just part of the earth's cyclic changes.

I saw an article about a proposal to foist a "carbon tax" on the people of (I think) California. I can't find it now which is infuriating, but I was really angry when I saw the headline (but unfortunately had to go to work and didn't have time to read it). I am immensely glad that America hasn't fallen for the line of "all this is man made, give bucketloads of money to the government and it will all go away".

It seems to be trendy for politicians to talk about global warming and "what we should do about it" because it is a "safe" and "emotive" topic and draws peoples' attention away from more pressing matters.

Maybe this is one of those "Woe is me, the sky is falling, lackaday, lackaday" topics, you know like 30 years ago: "panic, we are heading for another ice age", later: "panic, the 'millenium bug' is going to wreck all computers and any electronic gear", and the latest "panic, bird flu' is coming". All of which "paying more taxes to the state" will fix of course and all of which draw attention away from increasing world government intrusiveness which is far more important.

Thank goodness, every day, that America rejected the "stupidest thing of all time" Kyoto protocol. One of the biggest scams of the century.

My personal belief is that global warming is a combination of the two. That is, it is cyclic, but we are exacerbating the cycle with pollution. Not sure how much it really matters though, since we know He will return and the world will end at some point.

Before anyone jumps on me lol, just because I believe the world will be ending soon doesnt mean I think we should disregard proper stewardship of the earth and lay waste to it.

I don't believe what they are saying about global warming...you really have to watch the media, they are biased

I live way up in Northern Canada. Our winters are just as cold now as they have ever been. This year in fact we are getting alot more snow alot earlier than usual and the temps are way below normal. We have alread had 35 inches of snowfall and we usually only get about 2.

This fall so far is proving to be the coldest is many years

In the 60's and 70's they thought the world was going into another ice age because of "global cooling"

So don't get all worked up about global warming...it means nothing, it is cyclic, period.

Vex: Read and learn. The scientific community by and large considers 'global warming' an utter hoax. A few whose pay depends on government grants to 'study global warming' are oddly VERY INSISTENT against all data that it REALLY is happening.............

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
