I have no car. I cannot pay the rent, phone, heat, internet, food, etc. Are there any real Christians that will help in an emergency. I will be on the street in 30 days or so if the landlord kicks me out of here. I am serious. I am in the Chicago area. Many people are losing their jobs. No help found yet with agencies here. No unemployment checks coming. No family in the area and they can't help anyway.

Do Not Worry

Matthew 6:25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[2] ?

28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

God won't let you down if you put your faith in him.

Hello. Just a question or two.

First: Where is the "flock" that you pastor, and why aren't they helping you, if you are their pastor?

Second: By saying this: "Are there any real Christians that will help ...", it doesn't come off as being very humble. Especially to a board full of people who you know nothing about personally. If we are "real" Christians, does not depend on whether we send you funds. You might want to re-word that, in case anyone else took it the way I did.

Third: Before sending funds to a total stranger over the internet, usually, people will need to have some kind of proof that you, and the situation are real and not just a scam.

I wish you well, and you might want to put this down in the Prayer Request thread also.

Greetings BQA,

I thank the Lord for this forum. As you can see, He has brought two "wise" ladies (among many others) to it. There are local resources which you may be able to get assistance from. But your first priority is:

James 4:7-10 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

A Pastor of God's will know these things and not question whether there are any "real Christians" available. He is YOUR source IF you are His.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Calamity - My thought was the same as yours regarding the 'Real Christians' comment!

BibleQuestionAnswers - I would suggest that you pray and seek the Lord on this situation I understand finacial hardship and our Lord sees every person in every situation and He will deliver as He sees fit and in His time and in His way. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills and will distribute accordingly.

A 'real christian' would pray for you, comfort you and yes! if the Lord leads help you out financially without you even having to ask! Do you think that a real christian who had very little but gave you $5 would still be a real christian?

Let me tell you a little about a real christian: It is someone who prays with you and shares your pain and burden, it is someone who will take the little that they have in monetary terms and offer that to you, it is someone who even though they are struggling with varying issues in their own lives, will nonetheless comfort you with words of love and impart to you God's Word. It is someone that will continually refocus your thinking back on Christ where it belongs rather than on your outward circumstances. Now I could go on but I am sure you get my drift!

I will be praying for you! I strongly adhere you to do the same and if you have then carry on in thanks and praise to God and go and be a real christian yourself to others who maybe worse off than you.

Well, we can't help you if you don't give us some more info. Like, for example, a mailing address would be helpful. Or, perhaps a phone number where you can be contacted if there were anyone on the boards also in the Chicago area with an extra car you can use.

Please forgive some of us for being a little skeptical. Many of us have been scammed before. And the boards have been spammed with this sort of thing too. I'm happy to pray for you, though!

BibleQuestionAnswers,

Yes Godman is right, please forgive me for being, myself, skeptical because I am/was.

But you know prayer is a very strong tool that God has given us freely to use and wants us to use in all our dire circumstances. It can certainly move the hearts of people into action on our behalf I can asurredly attest to that.

He cares for you and even the hairs upon your head are all numbered.

Romans 8:28

I am praying for you!

friend,

there are many many good Christians, that are in the same boat you are....

several years ago, I was looking at the same situation, no rental property availible, and the previous owner was calling the mortgage on the house, ( 20 year note, and only 5 years into it )..... which he had the perfect right to do, even thou we had never been late, and had always paid more then required for the monthly payment.

he would not even entertain the thought of carrying it any longer, or postponing the time frame we had to have the balance or vacate.....

during this time, the Lord had touched me, had told me that i was not ready for what He ( God ) had for me, and that He wanted me, not just my weekly attention, not even twice or three times a week, but He wanted my all....

wanted my dedication to Him.... in full...... His words were:

" I want you, your all "

I rededicated my life to Him.... and thought i was doing good.....and acouple months later is when the house thing came up....

we searched every thing we could think of to come up with the 26,000 dollars to pay off the house... and kept coming up empty handed....

after a while of this, and the dead line drawing nearer, I was pleading with the Lord to help us out, and He told me : " I said I want it all..... "

ALL? ( i said )

He said "ALL!"

so I went to my knees, and gave the Lord the house, told Him that no matter what He wanted us to do, whether to live here or move on or leave town or where ever He wanted us to live, it would not matter, and if we was to stay here, then I would be happy to be the steward of this property.... until He seen fit for us to move on....

i got up, and God said...... " I SAID, I WANT IT ALL "

i thought, and well, was back on my knees.....

I no longer own a thing,..... this house is Gods, the cloths here in this house are Gods, this computer belongs to the company ( self employed ) which is controlled by God, the truck belongs to God, the car my son drives is Gods, the van for the family is Gods... every thing here belongs to God...... even the rate at which the customers are billed for work is that of Gods control.....

with in a week of turning every thing over to God, giving everything to God, God showed me where the money was to pay off the house...... which has been done.....

the money was not received from anyone from the church, internet, friends or family,, but provided by God.... thru events that God had lead me thru from years before... God knew that we would need the means to cover the house at least 15 years ahead of when He was preparing us for it.....

do not focus too closely on the things that are right in front of your face, for those things may not be of God....

a friend of mine, a family friend from way back in time .... he was laid off from work, she was working a part time para job in a school, and when they was laid off, he was not a pay day to pay day budget, but had a good amount set back......

after looking for work for almost 6 months ( in his 50's ) and not finding any, and too young for social security, their reserves ran low, scraping bottom of the barral.....

they done sold all but one car, and then sold it, and bought a beater for a few hundred to make the money go further, they done sold bunches of their household goods, and now were looking at placing the house on the market ( which was paid for in full, ) so they would be able to survive......

they are a Christian Family..... and did spend lots of time in prayer over this matter....... many many many hours of time praying individual and as a couple...

when they finally gave the house to the Lord, they, figured this was it, and the money for the house would let them survive for another couple years.......

they placed it on the market, and kept it in prayer that a buyer would come along that would pay the market value of the house.......

they had already made plans to move on in with his folks so that they could share the utilities, and other payments....

when there was no more money left, they knew it was over, and the house had not even had a bite....

he got a job out of town, min wage, but that is better then nothing..... but not enough for them to live in the house....

after he turned it all over to the Lord, with in justt a few days, the Lord Blessed them.... for staying faithful.....

God does not just want that of us that we no longer have a need for..... God does not just want the big things, God wants all the things of our lives... ALL OF US,

our entire self...... our entire being.....

we are to surender it all to Him so that He can repair our lives....

the only way God can make us complete again is if we give Him ALL THE PIECES.....

just like the saying goes;

ONLY GOD CAN MEND A BROKEN HEART, BUT HE HAS TO HAVE ALL THE PIECES.....

that goes with all areas of our lives... to include our finances......

Blessings to all.....

mike

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
