Hello all, new to the boards and comming in really late on this topic, a very HOT topic at that.

I certainly agree that we can give up our salvation and I am not totally sure we can lose it but there is scripture that comes to mind in Revelation in chapter 3:14-22, where the Lord is talking to the Laodicean church:

"The Lukewarm Church

14 "And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans[6] write,

"These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:

15 "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.

16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,[7] I will vomit you out of My mouth.

17 Because you say, "I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'--and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked--

18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

22 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.""

It sounds to me as though the Lord really does require us to do good works....His works....being zealous in those works and, knowing that we are going to sin, to repent always, even though Christ died for all sins past, present and future we still need to acknowlege them so we can be clean vesels for Gods work. If we just rely only on our faith and not do what He calls on us to do then we are worthless to His cause....He paid a price for us and expects us to do something. Even though His love for us is unconditional it is true that we are required to be obedient children. David sinned Greatly but repented continually. He was always Hot for the things of the Lord, never lukewarm. King Saul on the other hand knew the things of the Lord and chose to be disobedient and suffered greatly because of it. God does what is necessary to accomplish His plan, and chastes those that He loves. As we come closer to the time of His return our hearts are getting colder to the Lord and His works.

I don't know about you but I don't think I want to be vomited out of His mouth. That can't be good...even though that doesn't say we lose our salvation...it speaks volumes as to what is required of us as believers.

God's blessings and revelations on all.

And of course those who got vomited out had to be in there. like those whose names were blotted out of the book of life had to have had them entered into the book, but of course this is too simple for some to understand, because a lot of us can not accept the fact that there are things that we will not understand until we get there.

Because they are lukewarm...they will not answer His call to repentance ..which is the requirement for re-birth. They are NOT depending on the Lord Jesus, but feel they need nothing.

They "go to church", but are not the church. Lost to repentance.

In order to have "white garments" one must be born of God.

Obviously the Laodiceans are un-saved.

Vomitting out of His mouth is obviously a figurative of His disgust with such behaviour and unrepentance.

If you study about the book of life you will see that every person is written in, don't get saved, then blotted out.

Continuing is a fruit of being re-born...the state of being resulting from receiving the GIFT OF GOD, not of works lest any man should boast.

We are created unto good works...We continue because we are saved

We don't continue to get saved.

All of you who have been lulled into a false sense of security go back, and take out all the additions from your posts in regards to what The scriptures say, and your argument is nothing but private interpretation. Your attempt in this post is pretty sad. Works are the evidence of faith, hope, trust, obedience, righteousness, regeneration, restoration, rehabilitation, and love.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
