I will never vote for a candidate who supports the taking of innocent life, I don't care what party he is.

McCain is really the only winnable and acceptable option in my opinion. Although some question his strength on life issues, he does publicly claim to be pro-life and I believe him. Giuliani publicly says he supports the right to kill an unborn child. Brownback is good on the issues I care about, but he can't win.

hmmmm...I serve a God who can do anything...especially take a little nobody and change a nation. God has a way of taking the "underdog" and changing things...look at David...i am sure people said "there is no way he is gonna win" about him also...the odds didn't look good for a young man up against a Giant...but with God...all things are possible!!!

Phl 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

The one thing i do know is that God has a plan...and whom ever He has appointed for this time will be the President.... I also know that no matter who is in office...some will love him and some will hate him....some will think he is doing a great job and others will won't to burn him at the stake. Most will not stop long enough to realize that we are in the end times...and prophecy is being fulfilled. okay...i will shut up about all that before i get some long debate started...that is not my intention.

This is my stance... prayer MOVES God...it opens up the heavens....it is powerful enough to help Sam...the "underdog" win! I ask that many don't simply say "it's a long shot...he won't win..." and give up on him before he even gets started. The power of the tongue is a mighty thing....let's use it in a positive way. With our prayers and support...he DOES have a shot...with God on his side...He is a Victor!

Am i a hopeless optimistic??? I don't think so...i just take my bible and the promises within it at face value.

God Bless, Jenny. :)

any one so far that has talked of putting their name in the ring, except the clinton lady......

she gets in and well....... the USA will not be the USA anymore.....

we already lost a good portion of it through NAFTA when her other half (neither one of them are the better half) was in the seat...

anyways....

each and every person had better forget about the party lines and look at what each person is about...

being a devout methodist does not mean she is a CHRISTIAN......

we have to look at the fruit of their labours, dont just go with whether a democrat or republican....

personally, i thing some one in the WIG party would be much better....

H would have my vote too. However he is a longshot. I'm learning that this country is tilted to the far left and really don't want someone like him in office. It breaks my heart too. People want to be able to have abortion on demand, be able to let gays be married anything that is ungodly this country seems to grasp. I'm amazed at how many Christians are behind Hillary and how many stood behind Bill Clinton when he was running. It's sad.

Psalm 2

The Reign of the LORD's Anointed

1Why do the nations rage[a]

and the peoples plot in vain?

2The kings of the earth set themselves,

and the rulers take counsel together,

against the LORD and against his anointed, saying,

3"Let us burst their bonds apart

and cast away their cords from us."

4He who sits in the heavens laughs;

the Lord holds them in derision.

5Then he will speak to them in his wrath,

and terrify them in his fury, saying,

6"As for me, I have set my King

on Zion, my holy hill."

7I will tell of the decree:

The LORD said to me, "You are my Son;

today I have begotten you.

8Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,

and the ends of the earth your possession.

9You shall break them with a rod of iron

and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel."

10Now therefore, O kings, be wise;

be warned, O rulers of the earth.

11Serve the LORD with fear,

and rejoice with trembling.

12Kiss the Son,

lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,

for his wrath is quickly kindled.

Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

I know virtually nothing about him so I'm just going of his "Issues" page on his website. If I don't mention something it's because I generally agree with him or don't know enough to comment.

1 - He opposes all tax increases and wants to simplify the tax code with a flat tax. It seems unrealistic to think that there is never a need for raised taxes so I don't like that part of his platform.

2 - He says he will tackle energy independence and reduce oil consumption by 2.5 million barrels a day in 10 years. To do this he will use a "market-based approach." My question is whether he would put his foot down and use the force of law if necessary. If not, there will hopefully be more environmentally-friendly candidates.

3 - I don't support his will to ban gay marriage.

4 - His concerns about "activist judges" seem unfounded. By and large our judges do a good job. I fear he will put judges on the bench who will inhibit civil rights as we now know them.

5 - The blurb on religious liberty seems to be pretty paranoid. Our religious liberty seems to be right where it should be.

6 - It seems his stance on abortion is pretty absolute, i.e., every abortion is wrong. I doubt I would be in agreement with him on this issue. I also wonder what his stance is on stem cells since he claims to value life at every stage. If he is against research involving embryonic stem cells then that is another turn off.

Nothing is really knocking my socks off with this guy.

Hi Tubal,

Those are the reasons I agree with him. :noidea:

Anyway politics is politics and we can agree to disagree. I really do think you should reconsider your views about embryonic stem cell funding and abortion though, it really is a scam and immoral in my opinion. But that is neither here nor there.

But he is not going to win, not even close.

For me I don't like Sen. Clinton for a number of reasons, but I don't consider the horrible boogey man that some do. In fact Tom Delay made the comment that she could actually be very good for the conservative movement in this country by providing focus and a contrast, in the same way her husband basically ushered in the Republican takeover of both houses of Congress in 1994. Bush has been such a disaster just on basic competency issues that maybe we do need a break and a chance to re-focus.

Wow...i am shocked...these are all the reasons I will be voting for him. okay...on your #3...i personally don't know any christian that is against the ban of gay marriage. How can we be for it if God was against it???

Okay...to me...your stance raises a lot of alarms to me. Seriously...i am so over the gay and lesbians going about all this civil right junk. They were not born this way...it is a LIFESTYLE...do alcoholics get civil right protection...what about drug users...hey...how about ppl who like to pick their nose while we're at it.

Come on...this is just too much...it totally trashes what civil rights is...and who it is for...it is for the blacks...the hispanics...etc. I see it as a degrading of those who truly went through tough times for things out of their control...(i.e. their skin color.) Those it protects...fights for are those who endured many things...many hardships...for who they were...not because of their lifestyle choice.

This is becoming such a sad world to live in...I am joyfully waiting for the Lord to come back. I do not agree with abortion either...the Lord can take ANYTHING bad and use it for His good...every child...every person is planned ...maybe not by us...but definitely by the Lord.

I do not support stem cell research...i do not support cloning... there are many things i am against...many you and i will not agree upon. This thread was not started to discuss that...and i have gone into all of this too far already... I will close for now.

You are truly in my prayers! ....sorry for getting off the original topic...

God bless. :whistling:

I don't want to get into a debate over homosexuality and the Bible but it is necessary to briefly describe my views. First, there is nothing inherently unethical about homosexual relationships. When I speak of ethics I speak of interactions between creatures (human or animal) that can be deemed right or wrong on purely secular and objective grounds. Unless something quite unethical is occurring I don't think the government should intervene.

Second, I differentiate between moral commands from God and ritual/religious commands from God. For example, there is nothing inherently unethical about eating pork but it is a ritual/religious prohibition for Jews to eat pork. If homosexuality, as we know it today as opposed to temple prostitution or pederasty, is a sin then I would have to classify it as a religious command from God. Since I am a strict proponent of secular government I cannot support the government making a law for purely religious reasons. I am unaware of any convincing secular argument for banning gay marriage so I can't support such a ban.

Finally, my views on homosexuality and the Bible are not firm. But I have no desire to force those views on anyone else.

Seriously...i am so over the gay and lesbians going about all this civil right junk. They were not born this way...it is a LIFESTYLE...do alcoholics get civil right protection...what about drug users...hey...how about ppl who like to pick their nose while we're at it.

Whether gays are born gay or choose to be gay is irrelevant in determining whether homosexuality is moral or not. And alcoholics, drug users, and even those dreaded nose pickers all have the right to marry and other civil rights.

Civil rights are for everybody.

I do not agree with abortion either...the Lord can take ANYTHING bad and use it for His good...every child...every person is planned ...maybe not by us...but definitely by the Lord.

Note that I am neither 100% pro-life nor 100% pro-choice. If it were up to me abortions would be legal before the central nervous system and brain were working and illegal afterwards (except for if the mother's life is in danger and possibly some other extreme situations). There have been plenty of Jews and Christians who have held similar views throughout history. Brownback's apparent desire to ban all abortions would quite literally result in women (and the unborn) dying.

I do not support stem cell research...i do not support cloning...

I support embryonic stem cell research because it does not involve killing any living being with a brain and nervous system. Since they offer great promise in healing diseases I must support it. Cloning can be good or bad. It just depends on how its used.

You are truly in my prayers!

Thank you, although I don't think I'm in the dire straits you envision that I'm in.

Most abortions today happen after the brain and nervous system is developed the question is when is it "good" enough to be human? I don't think we have the right to make that determination and thus dispense with a life based on our vision of when a human life form is human enough. Under your idea we could logically kill humans who were developmentally delayed, and of course this is one of the reasons people do abort.

The Christian Church has been uniformly anti-abortion from the very earliest writings which we can document.

But you are right we could go down an endless rabbit hole on the abortion issue and totally derail the thread.

But since you are posting on the inside forum you do believe in Christ as the Lord and Savior of the world and your personal Savior as well correct?

I don't see how since even the "developmentally delayed" have brains and nervous systems.

Yes.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
