back, you're missing the point. whether tent revivals are not allowed, or whether permits for feeding large groups are required, does NOT prevent us from doing the work of God...

we can still do God's work, we can still witness, we can still provide food, unless we're so caught up in the "can't do's" that we unilaterally ignore the CAN do's.

it is our choice to decide that because of a few restrictions regarding size or location it's suddenly too big a job to fulfill God's commands.

oh, wait.... i said i was stepping out of this discussion. someone slap me.

I agree with you LadyC but when are we a Christs Body going to realize who we really are and stop Satan in his tracks. Don't you feel a mighty Wind coming and we will rise to the occation and take a stand! Look we let Satan take prayer out of schools and look at the mess. Then ten comandments taken down plus dozens of other things or rights Given to us by God. When are we going say enough is enough and bruse the head whom is responsible for all this? We are past due! :emot-hug::huh:

as to the post you made just prior to that one, again... the issue up for discussion, the laws regarding feeding people, have NOTHING to do with sheltering them. perhaps we could start a second thread discussing ways to shelter them.

No, I think you just realized that you got caught.

You said that these churches can feed these people on their own property, after all, these homeless people will travel miles to do so. The problem with this is what if the only giving church that is offering food on its own property, so to avoid this unconstitutional law, is 5 miles away from where the homeless designated zone? The homeless people move toward the church, en masse, but hark, there's a mighty problem here! The homeless are leaving their designated zone...this means the church without the resources has to bus them in, which they can't do to begin with. But hey, for the sake of argument, let's assume the homeless are finally able to reach the church.

Unfortunately, the church grounds are not big enough to fit all the homeless people coming in, and now you have a bunch of homeless people in a non-designated zone. Time to fine the church!

The problem is, when you use a pragmatic method to issue the law, you end up with massive problems such as this. In fact, to ensure a complete solvency to the crime rate, why not put the homeless into forced labor? Of course, they could be paid minimum wage, be put into housing, etc...but they could do meaningless jobs that no one wants. Why not pass that as a law?

That is the problem with pragmatism for the sake of civil rights - at some point, you devalue the people you are dealing with. Furthermore, you are supporting a law that puts limitations on churches, regardless of how manageable it is. Again, if they made you get a permit in order to witness on the streets, you'd be throwing a fit. I remember once in Mexico, our church had to pay a fine for witnessing to people on the street without having a permit. Is this what you want in America? No? Then don't support laws such as this.

People have compared Jews in the Holocaust...to the homeless.

Our government is compared to Nazi Germany...for protecting its law abiding citizens.

This is a satanic scheme...to hurt end-time Christians who don't have the MOB.

Some people have implied they CANNOT serve God properly if they need a permit.

If God can't "conjure" a hamburger...then He is certainly unable to help the homeless.

Are you guys hearing yourselves??? Ya'll gotta quit making excuses. I live in a warmer locale. My city is FLOODED with homeless right now and there are A TON of laws/regulations concerning them. They are not allowed to congregate (I think 10 in one area is the max.) They are not allowed in city parks (thats straight to jail.) They are NOT allowed to stand in medians, or solicit for money. And, of course, there are rules about where/how food donations are done. This is for the betterment of the whole city.

It hasn't stopped me (or the local church) from assisting the homeless. I work for the local gov't. As I said before I deal with the homeless almost daily. I routinely find myself in situations where I am simply someone they can talk to. Last week, I assisted a homeless man in finding a shelter (that is run by a local faith-based org.) About a month ago I assisted a nurse in cutting away an old mans socks...he had worn them so long that when he tried to take them off, his skin came off too. All that and the BIG BAD GOVERNMENT signs my paychecks.

I am TOTALLY in LadyC's corner on this one. Anyone who thinks they can't work within the confines of the gov't rules to help the homeless is just making excuses. I'd also be willing to bet that the gov't spends more each year to assist the homeless than ANY CHURCH.

No i am making a point that in WW2 the church of gemany said they had to obey the government.

and now when you might be fined for feeding a homeless guy you guys are saying the same thing.

so what is to stop it from developing into the same type thing? and please dont give a answer "O you know that wont happen" becuase that is just plain arragance

AK, i didn't get caught, good grief, you're chasing down a rabbit trail. get back on topic. the designated zone is for where you are allowed to feed them, not where the homeless reside. homeless folks are on every corner. this law is about feeding large groups. churches are not, and have not been in the past, a place of providing beds to sleep on.

i'll put it bluntly for you one more time. the only thing preventing you from doing God's work is your own stubbornness in doing it the way you want. open your heart, your arms, your pocketbook, your pantry.... whatever you wish to open to help these folks, do so in the name of Jesus. but to break a law that does not prevent you from doing God's work, in His name, is something that you must take up with God. i will follow God's calling as you must. and God doesn't call ME to defy the law of the land to get my own way.

my opinion of this is that city ordinances preventing the feeding of groups larger than 25 outside of a 2 mile radius defined as a designated area without a permit, while NOT preventing feeding fewer than that within or without the boundaries of that designated area, AND while NOT preventing feeding the homeless on private property within or without that designated area, is a LONG LONG LONG WAY from being a second holocaust.

as to the post you made just prior to that one, again... the issue up for discussion, the laws regarding feeding people, have NOTHING to do with sheltering them. perhaps we could start a second thread discussing ways to shelter them.

at which point do you not listen to the government?

when the government requires me to DENY MY GOD. that is the only Biblical reason to disobey the government. and this law does not require me to deny Him.

Really??? I think thats rubbish. So now you're of the opinion that ANY church, can do ANYTHING, it wants...and the gov't has no say. Sounds to me like you are not very clear on how much the church and government work together. A VAST majority of ALL funding for most churches and faith-based organizations comes from the federal government...you can't seriously think that Christians are tithing that much.

Let your church do something unfair, illegal, or even publicly questionable...and you will see how involved the gov't is. The whole purpose of the gov't is to regulate...since when did a nutjob who starts a church get a pass on that?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
