Thousands of people accept Christ everyday and then walk away from the faith because no one is discipling them. What are you doing to disciple?

Thousand of people are dying from AIDS every day - what are you doing to help their suffering?

Thousands of children are starving everyday- what are you doing to feed them?

Not saying that evangelism isn't important, but there is more to being a Christian than just telling people about Christ.

I agree.

Too often we cast Seed onto bad soil that is not capable of receiving the Seed. We must work the soil first, breaking up the hard ground and removing the rocks. How do we do that? BY allowing the love of Christ to shine through us. It is a way of life saints. ;)

Believers Battlecry, I am all for raising awareness and challenging the saints of God to do more in reaching out to those in darkness BUT I must admit I get a bit annoyed when someone new comes to the boards with the assumption that they are the only ones doing a work for the Lord. Brother, don't assume you know the folks here.

Secondly, you are speaking to the Body of Christ. Do not call the hand to be a foot or the foot to be a hand. Let God speak to each individual and prepare them for HIS service according to HIS will. He knows the babe in Christ as He knows the experienced warrior in Christ. You do not so be careful to not call the babes into battle without God's Armor and some preparation.

I appreciate your passion and praise God for those like you. Just do not assume and let God be God. For He alone is worthy. :P

May the Lord Bless you richly,

wayne

I have never been big on trying to motivate people to share their faith through laying death statistics on them. God knows when and how people will die. God is also the one who will open their eyes. It is our job to get on board with what God is doing. If we do not share, God will bring along another who will. We just miss out on the blessing of sharing in Kingdom work

Discipleship, feeding the poor, helping the ill are all great, and can and should be effective ways to share the news that Jesus died for them. The church should play a greater role in Discipleship, feeding the poor, helping the ill. Use every opportunity to share your faith.

 Discipleship is for believers, not unbelievers.

Battlecry, if the Lord put evangelism on your heart, that's great! Please understand that not all are called to be evangelists, and there is more to God's Kingdom than the gates. OK? I praise God for your burden for the lost. The Lord so desires for all to be saved. :) But He also wants those who are saved to grow deeper in perfection and knowledge of Him. Some workers are meant to to work in these areas. Sure, we do what we can to bring the lost to Christ that we encounter, but that might not be our ministry focus. It truly takes a gift to evangelize. (I know, because I certainly don't have that gift!)

I love your zeal for the Lord and your heart for the lost. Go for it! But do remember that some people require more than a tract to get saved, if you know what I mean. Some people, for instance, might need a faithful friend to soften their heart. OK?

Don't mistake my zeal and desire as a criticism of anyone on this board or that I don't realize that God calls each of His own to different tasks. My only point is that we must maintain a focus on the fact that there are people dying daily and what are we doing about. Each task that we have been personally given from God is a blessing but also a responsibility. Remember the parable of the talents? Matt 25:14-46. Don't be the one that buries your one talent. Evangelism is not just preaching the gospel, it is using every opportunity that the Holy Spirit allows us, (something as small as a warm smile or a cheerful good morning to someone at work) being keenly aware of our surroundings and looking for that opportunity to share the gospel. Let's commit together that in no matter what we are doing we realize what is at stake and be a willing vessel in the kingdom of God. Remember that JESUS is coming back soon!

We are all called to be evangelists, nebula. We are to preach the gospel to every creature...no special gifting is required for that, although the Holy Spirit does come along and anoint many people with the gift of the evangelist. We are all supposed to disciple also, and yet the Holy Spirit does gift certain people with a great ability to teach and exhort as well. But we are never off the hook in these callings. I am sure you do not disagree with this, eh?

Mate, we don't feed the poor, disciple, or do any of these other things as a means for reaching a goal - we do them because they are good in and of themselves.

If the goal of winning the lost at all cost is not your primary focus, we may need to realign our priorities, mate.

We are watchman according to Ezekiel 33:8, their blood will be on our hands.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
