If there was a way to protect the privacy of the mother, I would be for this idea. As it is currently however, I don't see how that could happen, therefore I don't support this proposition.

When abortion is viewed as a crime in America I will agree to making the mother's personal information public record, but until then as long as abortion is a legal operation I see no reason to make the mother's information a matter of public interest; the mother should retain the right of privacy at this point in time.

You seem to go by what the USA says not what God

This is not some Fundamentalist Christian version of Iran. Our laws do not compel religious beliefs in this country. Do you believe that God wants us to legislate Christianity, or do you believe that God wants Christians to choose to obey God rather to legally compelled to do so?

why not clear this issue up by tellin us your stand :D

Because the thread is about being in support of or opposing Death Certificates on Abortions, not about being in support of of opposing abortion itself :th_frusty: I would rather keep my specific abortion views private for now.

Ok then i ask you the same question.

Will you go against God? (I go by the same rules if you avoid the question I assume yes)

I think it is safe to say that as a man I will never have an abortion, and as someone who is not a physician, I will never perform one.

What do you even mean by going against God? Do you mean in voting? What do you mean?

Virtually every time you vote, no matter who you vote for, chances our you are supporting someone who only partially advocates a platform that is line with the teachings of the Gospels. I can't think of a single candidate that I have ever had the choice of voting for that had a consistent ethic of life in that none of them ever articulate or support a coherent social policy which seeks to protect the rights of the weakest and most vulnerable in our society, the unborn, the infirm, the refugee, the homeless, and the poor. Neither party is opposed to abortion and capital punishment and economic injustice and assisted suicide and euthanasia and unjust war.

This one issue does not define Christian values. It is simply one of many. Abortion and homosexuality are not the only issues that are of concern to Christians, they don't even get that much mention in scripture. In fact, poverty, injustice, peace, and being good stewards of God's creation all get far more mention in scripture. When people become one issue voters, as a consequence they end up disregarding much of the teachings of the Bible. It is not so black and white as you paint it. We all must weigh the issues and take the route that our conscience and faith leads us. Some might see abortion as the issue that defines that route, but for me that is not the case. For me what defines that route dictated by conscience and faith is the true costs of war, our poor stewardship of God creation and the cost that lays upon our children, the health and welfare of children who are among us, and the poverty and injustice in this world.

Maybe concience and faith will lead you in a different direction as to your beliefs on society, but don't assume that yours will be any more Godly than the directions that concience and faith leads others, just as they must face the grey areas and hard choices of this world, so will you.

I am aware of that, but I think that most people see a difference between a handful of undifferentiated cells and a new born baby.

Is that what you think a fetus is?

Forrest - the cells are only "undifferentiated" for the first few weeks. I don't have time to revisit the exact time frame. But the tissues and organs are formed fairly early on in the pregnancy comparatively to the 9 months.

And once again, I say, abortion is not just killing physical cells (and extracellular material), it is killing a real soul.

You know . . . like in your C.S. Lewis quote: "You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body."

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
