Thanks for the advice, but I will worry about my motives. The biggy is my Book and what is wrong with studying evil anyway? It brings me closer to God. It a stimulating subject for me so even if I wasn't writing a book I would be interested. If you arn't then don't reply to a demonology thread. Saying it is a pointless for you is fine, but you cannot speak for me.

I was, in part, refering to weaknesses in the translations, but in the actual texts aswell. I do not believe there are any though. The problem is my weak perceptions and understandings of the Bible and other texts like Enoch, lead me to incorrect conclussions which always turn out to be wrong if I look hard enough when the text is given the chance to support itself.

Gidday me old mate Gary. Hey bro you know it's not my scene to be rude to anyone, but the forum to discuss demonology is 'spiritual warfare' not 'doctrinal questions'.

If I misunderstood your post eariler, then I ask for your forgiveness. I agree that this subject should have been in the spirtiual warfare forum.

So why scare the sox offn yerself by readin up on demons and stuff.

Are you saying that you are never tempted or have any strongholds in your life? Are you saying that you never have to resist the devil or tempations? Even if you never deal with demonic forces in your own life you should be able to help deliver others that under demonic bondage. So aslong as you live here in this flesh you will deal with demonic forces.

I think one of the greatest problems in the Church today is that we nolonger believe there is a Devil, Demons, therefore we do nothing about them but let them control us and others. The bible says God has given us authority over them but what good is this power over demons if we do nothing with it. When was the last time you cast out a demon? When was the last time you got victory over your besetting temptation?

If by me talking about there being a real devil and demons scares people then it should. Maybe they should wake up and smell the coffee. Maybe if people relized that there is a real devil that is seeking to destory them then maybe they would be on their gaurd to resist him and take authority over him.

Why do you think you have to be called into the "deliverence ministry" to cast out demons. Can you show me where in the bible it says you must be called into a special delivernace ministry to cast out demons or is this the authority of all believers?

Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

You dont have to be called into a special ministry to cast out a demon. All you have to do is be a believer in the Lord Jesus unless you can show me otherwise with scripture. "These signs shall follow them that believe."

you guys..... I'm not impressed.

As for the deliverance ministry thing I say that is way off topic but I think, like all gifts God can bless anyone. Infact I would say that along with

Preaching the Good News

and

Healing the sick

that demon delivering is the only gift that all believers can do any time by God's grace. Teaching, evangelism and prophesy take time, practice and learing. I also think that occasionally God uses a new Christians or those weak in scripture for any gift as He likes, but tends to wait till they reach spiritual maturity first so they can cope with it better.

BUT........ all those attempting it should observe and learn about it first before trying it so noone gets hurt, but anyone CAN do it, it is now a matter of SHOULD.
