Greetings C.D.Light,

And this famine of hearing seems to be sent by God.

You hit the nail on the head with this one. I believe that for those who are TRULY "listening" to what God is saying, there is a cornicopea of food waiting for them. To them that have much, much more will be given. But we must also admit that this runs the gamut of the entire body of Christ. I am sadly aware that too many elders and too many pastors and too many evangelists get so sidetracked with the world or their own personal agenda that they are not seeking what the Lord wants for His people. So they are not listening as well. We EACH need to get a hold of God and get the Word straight from Him, unINTERPRETED, unPROCESSED, and full of LIFE. The "body" has forgotten this, otherwise we would find unity and one supplying to another for the building of the whole body.

Keep up the good work.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

"But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

"

Here is a recent revelation I had about this verse:

Psalm 3:7  Arise, O Lord

              Save me, O my God!

              For you have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone;

You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.

We don't have to strike our enemies back when they strike us because THE LORD IS FIGHTING OUR BATTLES FOR US! We just need to call on Him!  If an enemy smites you on the cheek, the Lord will smite him on the cheekbone.  Trust in Him and call on Him.

Greetings Tsth,

I would also like to add if I may, that in regard to hunger and thirst, we should feed and refresh, by the giving of the Truth of the Word.

That is AFTER you finished being a "good samaritan". A person does not want to hear the gospel when s/he is starving or half dead from frostbite. Otherwise you are making the gospel to be the "last rites", instead of the "good news".

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

VERY well put....and about as honest an answer I've ever heard given to that type of statement!! :thumb:

Dear Wisdom,

I take it that you took offense?   :noidea:   Truly, there was none intended.  I just believe that the Word is truly a River of Life, and that it is First in priority.  John 4 and the Samaritan woman?

Matthew 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Matthew 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

I am only speaking of freely giving to those in need.  I was not speaking of neglecting serving, or kindness, I was speaking of the power of the Word, and what is possible through the Truth.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Suzanne....

Don't worry sis.  I didn't take offense at all, and actually understood your point quite clearly.  Let me apologize to you if it appeared otherwise.   :)

In addressing DE's post I was only saying he took it to another level of clarity which I had never look at in such like minded fashion.  I'm going to start using his breakdown illustration (and give him credit ONLY the first few times I use it...after that.... )

No sis, your post was received very well on my part. :thumb:

Dad Ernie,

I want to thank you for your excellent responses here. You show so much of the Christ-like humbleness that I aspire to, and that I see so little of in today's Christians who are more into their "rights" and what they "deserve" than trusting in God.

The verses provided here are excellent for most circumstances where one is being "smited". If only people would put their faith in obeying them.......*sigh*.

Thanks again, brother.

I saw on the 700 Club a story about a woman who was attacked and she was praying so hard but was raped anyway, does it mean she didn't have enough faith and was afraid?

Greetings Tatie,

Somehow our "faith" always plays a "part" in the events that happen around us. Joseph had great faith and readily spoke to his family about the visions God had given him, which only got him into hot water, to the point he was almost killed by his own brothers. Then later in Egypt he was thrown into jail for a crime he didn't commit and then he was forgotten by those whom he had befriended when they were finally released. But ultimately his conclusion was that "Satan intended evil but God allowed for His own purposes."

Jesus was hung on a cross, the Apostles were all killed in some terrible manner, except for one. Do we deserve any less? Consider the Christian martyrs throughout the last 2,000 years. Read the Book of Martyrs, it will open your eyes. In our bodies, we live in a world that wants to see them killed, but in our "spirits" (the one we are to worship God with) we are seated in heavenly places with Christ. In the last days there will be terrible persecution of Christians like there has never been before, even worse than it is now. The world loves its darkness and they don't want the light revealing them as for who they really are - sons of the evil one.

I like this verse:

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Keep this always in rememberance no matter what the trials and tribulations and look to your redeemer as He will draw nigh unto you.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Is it right to defend yourself or your children from criminal attack? And can a Christian be a police officer and defend others from criminals?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
