Hi there Saints....

I attended a Women's Bible study in our church last week. Before we ended our session our leader made a comment that Satan controls the world. I was in total shock when she said this so I told her it's not Satan who controls the world but God. She said it was in the Bible that God gave Satan a power to control the world and that Satan is the prince of the world that's why everything that's happening around us is being controlled by Satan. I totally disagree with this. Although I've been a Christian for so many years now, I haven't really studied the Bible thoroughly that's why I felt so helpless that I can't even express what I really believe in. I was completely surprised that some of the women present agreed of what our leader had to say.

I'd appreciate your wisdom and enlightenment.... Please pray for me as I really want to know God more and grow spiritually.

May you all be blessed!

A little truth but Be of good cheer!

As much as he would like to be, Satan is not God

Jesus Won!

Mind - Blinder

"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." (2 Corinthians 2:3-4)

Roaring

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:" (1 Peter 5:8)

Smack Down

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12)

Stand Fast

"Neither give place to the devil." (Ephesians 4:27)

His Name - Satan Bane

"And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name." (Luke 10:17)

Destroyed

"He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." (1 John 3:8)

Swimeth

"And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." (Revelation 20:10)

Looks like they got it part right and a lot wrong.

"Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre." (Psalms 45:6)

"But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another." (Psalms 75:7)

"But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased." (Psalms 115:3)

"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation." (Isaiah 12:2)

Love, Joe

Where the Bible says satan is the 'god' of this 'world,' the Greek text has the word 'cosmos,' which really means: 'the system.' Paul is not alluding to the physical world, which God pronounced 'good' and never retracted that statement.

Unfortunately many, many Christians confuse 'the system,' with our beautiful planet, because of a carryover from 2nd, 3rd and 4th century Gnostic pollutions. The earth is GOOD, and the universe is God's.

Did you know the Scripture tells us EXACTLY why Jesus came? It says "For THIS PURPOSE was the Son of God manifested: that He might destroy the works of the devil." Do we believe Jesus failed? Of course not. The works of the devil ARE destroyed; WERE destroyed 2,000 years ago!

When the Scripture speaks of Jesus 'defeating satan,' 'crushing his head,' 'triumphing over him,' and 'putting him to an open shame,' that is extremely powerful verbiage. Don't the people in your Bible study believe in the supreme VICTORY of the Son of God?

Besides all that, Jesus also made the astonishing claim that ALL POWER IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH WAS GIVEN TO HIMSELF! If Jesus has it ALL, then satan has NONE.So we must ask ourselves, how can the devil, with his 'crushed head,' and NO power, do anything to us?

There is only ONE POSSIBLE WAY. The Lord Jesus has so loved and trusted His people, that He has made it so that the ordinary way for His power to be mediated to the earth is through.....THE WORDS, SPEECH, AND BELIEVING OF HIS PEOPLE! By our own words, we can mediate Christ's holy power for good or for ill. When people foolishly speak of satan as a powerful being, THEY THEMSELVES prostitute the power of Christ to satan, and BUILD UP THE ENEMY'S KINGDOM, and enable him to do his wicked acts against us. God's people must learn to stop speaking such foolishness.

In fact, if you remember, the 'false prophet' of the book of Revelation 'gives power to the image of the beast.' Well, the words False Prophet in the Greek text simply mean 'Forthteller of Lies.' When we speak against God's word, WE OURSELVES ARE 'forthtelling lies!' When we disagree with God, that False Prophet lives RIGHT IN OUR OWN MOUTHS! If you get rid of THAT False Prophet, you will need have NO FEAR of any false prophet to come..........

I haven't written here in a long time but this is a subject that does interest me and I believe I have some biblical knowledge of this subject so I will add what I can in hope for more responses.

Joe wrote "god of this world," this very arguably refers to Satan in my opinion. (2 Cor 4:4)

Though he may be the god of this world. The God we serve is the one true God, Creator of and Master over all the universe. Though He is this immense his eye is on the sparrow (Mathew 10:29) and we know his great love for us because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Satan showed Jesus all the kingdoms of earth when He was being tempted in the wilderness and he said he would give Jesus all of it if He would worship him. Jesus' response was "Get thee hence Satan for it is written that you shall worship the LORD your God and him only will you serve." He did not rebuke him by saying that he was lying (though he is the father of lies) only by refusing to do what he said. Could he have given the world to Jesus? The world was meant for Jesus to rule and He knew that, hence the deception, but thank God Jesus knew what his first mission as the suffering servant was (Daniel 9:26)(Isaiah 53:5) and He did not forsake it but fulfilled his mission.

Satan goes to and fro on the earth (Job 1:7) (1 Peter 5:8) and sets up thrones (revelation 2:13)and sets himself as a king (Ezekiel 28:12-19). Now these two verses in consideration, we all know that evil men are in power on the earth, the extent of the evil in control is not yet known by most people. We know that world leaders network through the United Nations. I don't know much of what the EU is about personally, but it is apparently an emerging power. I don't know what will become of the world from now until the antichrist rises to power, but this world will never be completely under the control of the evil one as long as there are some of us there to resist, willing to fight and die for what we believe in. (Daniel 7:21) (Revelation 13:7)

This world is not our home. The world system is dominated by Satan. We just live here as salt and light, taking back from that kingdom of darkness as many as will come to Christ.

I agree with Leonard. It is Gods earth and universe and He hath declared it good!

The Bible is talking about worldy, meaning things of this system, not things of earth.

The cult of the J witnesses actually teach it is satans world, they give him far to much power and control than he really even has, and talk more of him than God. They deny Jesus as God and Gods rule over all the earth now. It is God's earth and universe. That was indeed a "Bible Study" that I would not go to, they are not teaching correctly and it is far too similar to the false cultic teachings I have seen before.

You know, some people will call something a "Bible Study" ; but, they aren't really studying the Bible it self , but taking verses out of context to teach false things. Sometimes so called Bible studies are realy only some other book study and not even real Bible Study at all!

I think you need a real Bible study and better one for sure.

I am glady you stood your ground and did not go for that false teaching, too!

Jesus has all power. :emot-questioned:

Blessings,

elkie

It wasn't false at all. We are at war, and we battle principalities and powers here. This is Satan's domain we are living in. We are the light and salt to this dark world. We must be careful not to teach that "pie in the sky" notion that the devil is absent. He is not. He is a loser, yes, but he is still working to deceive. It is up to the Lord God and His army here on earth to take back what the enemy has stolen.

Ephesians 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

ummm yeah...i'm pretty sure without reading anything about it in the bible, that God loves us too much to put satan in cahrge of us. because if satan were in charge of us, he'd make life miserbale. there'd be like zero good in the world. i don' think satan's in charge of us. sure he tempts and manipulates people every now and then, but he doesn't completely control those people unless they chose to let him. and everybody in the world doesn't chose to let him.

Wow Leonard! I totally agree with all you have said. I know my Savior is coming back to this earth and will take out of it all that offends and he will set his kingdom up from Jerusalem that is on this earth and from there He will rule and riegn all the nations for 1000 years.

I do not know why some denominations still hold on to some Gnostic beliefs. I can see you have truly done your homework on this. I myself have been studying Gnostic beliefs and can see where I have been taught some of what they believed and taught.

You are right! God made the heavens and the earth and declared it was good! The physical earth is good. The spiritual corruption brought about by satan is what is bad. But, Jesus said be of Good cheer. He has overcome the world meaning the worldy system.

And I do not need to take back what the devil stole. Jesus already did that for me. He has redeemed me by His blood, He is my pearl of great price.

Plow on Leonard! Wonderful post my friend

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
