It's amazing how the greed for money can cause even professed Christians to cheat our FATHER.

I thought this was goinh to be about the tighing. You think there are a lot of Christians that get overwhelmed by greed and cheat on their statements? I can't imagine that. What standards are we to apply in business dealings, perhaps you mean much higher standards than plain honesty?

Wisdom: I'm 100% behind tithing and believe in offerings (such as those given to charities) as well.  For me, giving isn't   burdensome.

I do, however, employ a tax consultant and try to get every single deduction and tax break I can get. Hope that isn't considered unChristian. If it is, I'm in big trouble... -Cat

DO YOU prayerfully keep HIM first as the "auditor" of ALL your business transactions (bills, tax returns, purchases,etc)?

Another way to ask this would be, Is He Lord of your WHOLE life, or just the parts you aren't ashamed of? (Or maybe that is a topic in itself WISDOM?)

As long as we are talking about Christians and their money, I would like to ask:  Are we living within our means?  Or, are we trying to accumulate things we cannot afford, and in the process cheating our brothers out of what they are owed?  If, we are purchasing luxuries for ourselves, when we have not paid the workers their wages first, what have we done?  (cell phones, DVD's, cable tv, computers, high dollar cars, jewelry, .....etc.)  If, we are not paying our debts to the workers that are owed, and we are not tithing, what does that say about us?   Maybe our priorities need some rearranging?  Maybe we need to come to a point of discerning between "wants" and "needs"?

Jer. 22:13 "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness And his chambers by injustice, Who uses his neighbor's service without wages And gives him nothing for his work,

Lev. 19:13 'You shall not cheat your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of him who is hired shall not remain with you all night until morning.
