:D Calamity, I was raised to be a hindu untill I was about 9 years old. I only prayed to god 'coz mom and dad wanted me to. Finally figured god didnt exist because the hindu religion/god didnt make any sense to me. I loved science. Which made me a well rooted atheist untill I was 23. Science made me stand up on my legs about life, but stripped me viod at my heart. Thats when I met Jesus, He brought me to my knees but filled my heart with love. I have been following Christ since about two years and been reading the bible asking Him for guidance. I wouldnt pose my questions just to mock your beliefs or to test mine. I diligently seek the answers. I have been wrestling with these questions since the past two months. I ask them at my Church with the same zeal as I am doing on here. I just type up what I think in my head. So if my posts come out forceful or sarcastic I apologize 'coz it's not intentional :x: . Forgive me if I have stepped on your toes posting the way I do. with love :D BigD

A little science estranges a man from God. A lot of science brings him back. (Francis Bacon)

That sounds sincere, BigD. I've answered the best I can. If you haven't read the whole thread, you might want to. Also, like I said before, there's others here who know a lot more than I do. You could even start a new thread asking your questions, and probably get a lot of responses.

I know, it's hard for some to understand how God, could punish like that for eternity, but that's what the Bible says, and God is just. I don't think we should question Him if it's clear in His Word. As far as I can tell, it's clear. There is an eternal punishment, and it should make us want to tell others about Jesus all the more, so they won't be there after they die.

I belive that people that havent taking jesus into there hearts during there lifetime who are not generally evil will be given a chance to repent when they first die. However i think that unless saved during there life time the evil go strait down.

Because there is many refrences in the new testament to the fact that when we die we come before god and are judged. I think that when people get to that point the oppertunity to repent for there sins will be given. Why do i think that? because i know many non belivers who are very good people and live a christian life style but do not belive in god.

Rev 20:10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Rev 20:11  And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

Rev 20:12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Rev 20:13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Rev 20:14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Rev 20:15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The criteria for whether or not you are cast from the presence of G-d...is whether your name is written in the Lambs Book of life....the only way to get our names in it is to be covered by the blood of the Lamb...and just as the Israelites were passed over when the Angel of Death slew the firstborn in Egypt..so will we be redeemed by the blood that avails for us through Yeshua HaMeshiach/Jesus the Messiah the firstborn of the Father.

John 1:29  On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world!

Heb 1:6  And when he again bringeth in the firstborn into the world he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

So your saying that someone who does good all there life donates everything they have to charity and works constantly with them will be cast into hell just because they did not welcome jesus into there hearts in there life time?. I do not belive that god would do that why simply because if he punnish's someone for doing good doenst that make him evil?. God it many things and righteous is one of them but blinded isnt he sees peoples souls and knows there worth.

That is why i belive that certain people are giving a last chance for redemption.

Isa.64

[6] But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Rom.7

[18] For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

John.14

[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Only those things we do in Christ, are fit. Nothing we do on our own, has any merit in God's eyes.

Jesus certainly said it was eternal:

Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Mat 25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

Mat 25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

Mat 25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

Mat 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

Mat 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Blessings....

Eternity is forever and that is a very long time. It is so long that we can not fathom how long it is.

Aye, we cannot fathom. Eternity is actually a state of being outside of time. We, in this universe, are caught in this time-capsule continuum, but God is not. God is eternal. To Him a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day.

In eternity, there are no "minutes, days, or years." It just is.

Therefore, since we know only how to refer to things according to the confines of "time," when the unrepentant have been in hell (gehenna/lake of fire) for "billions of years" they will be no closer to the end than they were the instant they got there.

Frightening, indeed, to think that God's holiness requires this as payment for a lifetime of rebellion. This should stir us all unto a deeper level of humility, reverance, and obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ.

It should also give us a burning desire for the souls of others. Getting the gospel out is the Great Commission.

Blessings...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
