The OP is dealing with astronomy and not biological evolution. Of course every scientific theory will change if new evidence is presented that challenges the status quo. This is a good thing.

Exactly. Biological evolution and cosmic evolution are completely different things. And progress comes from revision and observation, it isn't a bad thing that scientists rework their theorys and ideas when trying to find truth.

I have perused your website but did not see any clarification or rectification for the many serious problems associated with the philosophical agenda that you wish to push - the concept that humans are the result of a long evolutionary journey that originated (how

I'd like a Christian to answer my question: Why do we have organs in our bodies that are no longer of use to us? Like, the appendix, the coccyx bone, etc. I am a Christian, but I don't have enough information to support a complete creationist point of view. We were talking about organ removal at our ladies fellowship, and when I think of that conversation, it would seem that I have only evolutionary views on the subject.

All of our organs have a function, it's just we can live without some organs. This shows more design than anything else. We have organs that, when working properly, allow for optimal function within humans. However, if some of them were to shut down, we could still live. That is the beauty of a designed system. It's like if the radio in your car breaks - your car will still run, but you've lost a luxury.

It's interesting, but as usual with AiG, it's just plain wrong. It claims 180 vestigial organs have become zero. That's simply nonsense. Where did that figure of 180 come from? I've never heard any such claim, nor indeed anything near it. To be sure we now know what the pineal gland does, etc etc, but the coccyx is still useless to us and has no function. Maybe HorizonEast can tell us what exactly he does with his? Interestingly, the human embryo does form a full tail, with about 10 vertebrae, most of which die off later in development. If they didn't die, we would all have short, waggable tails. Maybe HorizonEast has a recessive gene which gives him one? :24:

The appendix has no use to the human body with our current diet. It is a vestigial organ that used to be used for digestion of cellulose from rough vegetation. Yes, it does have antibody protection mechanisms, but they are secondary to its original use. These antibodies are not required - we also have them elsewhere in the gut.

Another vestigial leftover is body hair, which has no function. Most of us just have very light hair, and when we get cold we get 'goose-bumps', whose function is to keep us warm by standing our hair on end. Very useful if you are a hairy mammal, a waste of effort for humans.

I really don't see the need for the personal attacks that are getting more and more frequent here at Worthy. Like the one above. :24: It would seem that one who cannot debate throws insults.

I think you're being far too sensitive, Glory2000. It had a smiley after the comment, indicating humour. No offence was intended.

THE FAITH OF EVOLUTION

.....what I learned here.....

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1 Timothy 4:1-2

A careful examination of the changing reasoning and the twisting apologetics of the evolutionist at Worthy leads me to form a few Evolutionary Facts and Theories of my own.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Galatians 6:7-8)

A pattern quickly emerged from within these misty boards of elucidate hyperbole.

The learned defenders of an absurd tale of men losing tails and scales and puppy dog nails still gleefully ignore factual science.

No excuse for people who's vocation is science.

Mixing their precisely measured work with science-fiction seems silly but there you are!

Some even resort to childish jeers and sneers and making sophomoric anatomical jokes about a fellow's gene count to further explain their "weird science" called evolution.

In their defense, this may be the very same humor they use with their friends and family.

Although this did seem to happen just as young Christians were receiving a proper scientific education with correct scientific facts to discredit the fairy tales of evolution.

Hummmm!

Wonder if this was a random happy accident. :36::wub::36:

Some evolutionary zealots even use $10 dollar words to evangelize 10

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
