This brought back the tragic killings of Luke Woodham at the Pearl High School shootings back in 1997. he killed his mother then sat at the table and ate then took a rifle hid it under his long coat and shot up the school.the principle went to his car and got a gun and held him down after he(luke) had went back to his car to reload.big stink about the principle having a gun

I pray for thoses families that are waiting to see if their kids are dead or alive.

There needs to be people on campus at every school with guns to prevent such things from occuring. Either we need to have armed security officers, or give guns to the teachers as well as the Dean or Principle. Then the casualties would be reduced as the shooter could be taken out sooner.

I take it you like western movies.

while our boys are in the middle east fighting allah, satan has a heyday in America promoting domestic terrorism. :th_praying:

Look I know you hate this country as you continually run it, us and it's leaders down. But I think you have crossed the line in this remark. To bad you can't find in that Christian your heart of yours to pray for these family and friends of these murdered souls.

While my response above might have been some what harsh you have to understand that since 9-11 Americans have been very touchy about people from other counties making comments like you did. We are not responsible for every kook with a gun. I believe this is all a sign of the end times. It just seems that America has had it's share of heartache in the last several years when it comes to things like this.

My comment that you took exception to was not a shot at Americans, but an observation that while all the shenanigans is going on in the middle east, satan seems to be having a party here. Canada is involved with all of this too you know. I support the troops in Afghanistan and I believe America should pull out of Iraq and let them fight amongst themselves, then America can concentrate on wiping out the Taliban in Afghanistan. Iraq is obviously a lost cause and fighting your enemy on a different front is better than cutting out all together. Bare in mind that the world at large does support our efforts in Afghanistan while support in Iraq is all but dissolved. But getting back to today's situation, I have to ask why you can buy a handgun when they are so easily concealed? Why are people allowed to buy automatic weapons? I can understand people owning shotguns and rifles as they are difficult to conceal and they are appropriate for hunting game. I fear things will only get worse before Jesus returns and we just have to deal with it. :emot-hug:

The situation in Iraq has nothing to do with what happened in Virginia. To make such a comparison is absurd.

So you don't believe satan plays a role in the violence occurring within our own borders? You don't think that the deaths of 30 plus people is an act of terrorism. you believe that the citizens of our respective countries are being adequately protected by the security forces of the countries in question?

How can you justify America trying to fix Iraq when Americans are killing each other in huge numbers. I am not attacking America because it is also happening here. Crime is running rampant and excelling daily. who will protect my children when our forces are all falling in the middle east.

HOPEFULLY someone who is well trained and legally authorized to carry a gun.

our troops, american whether from the USA or canada, aren't going to be stationed wherever your children are. so you'd better pray that God will utilize whatever means necessary to protect your kids, even if that means with a gun.

It's not as easy to get a gun here unless you're a criminal. :th_praying:

Why isn't anyone praying with me?

Why does everyone prefer to fight an bicker?

I posted a prayer in the pinned Prayer thread. Am I alone? Am I the only one who believes it would please the Lord for us to stand in the gap?

Is there anybody out there? Does anybody care? Are the people really there?

Is there anybody seeking?

You're right Neb. As Christians we should be praying for our leaders to start taking care of the people. I doubt if Jesus would see the need to arm everyone on the planet. It would make it difficult to love our neighbors if we were always drawing a bead on them.

To me these comments attacking those over debating the use of firearms and making it out as if they are not spiritual for lack of public prayers are being extremely judgemental. Jesus taught us to go into our prayer closet and pray in secret, and not to do as the Pharisees who pray in public to be seen of men. I am not the least bit sorry for taking a stand in favor of arming the teachers or the dean of every college, and don't feel the need to prove my spirituality to anyone.

You da cowboy. :th_praying:

what makes you assume that we aren't praying? neb and ger, i DO pray. as do most of the rest of the people in this board. you're not alone!

ger, i gotta ask though.... yes, we should pray for our leaders, and for the victimes and their families, but... "pray our leaders start taking care of the people". who do you consider to be a leader? if you're referring to the government, do you think they are able to do any more than anyone else who wasn't at that campus?

to me, that statement, that our leaders take care of the people, INCLUDES the leaders of that school. which is exactly why they should have been armed. if that den-mother, or residential assistant, or whatever title that person had, had been armed, it's quite possible that only ONE person would have died and instead of having 33 people killed and another 28 or so wounded.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
