Isn't Ten Commandments Jewish Law?

Yep.

But if you obey the 2 laws that Jesus said to hang ALL the law on, then you cant help but keep them.

Love God and love eachother.

If you love God you will not take His name in vain.

If you love your brother, you will not murder him or covet his belonging,or steal from him etc....

Did the "Jews" write the ten commandments or did God? So, are the 10 commandmenst "Jewish Law" or Gods Laws?

Jesus gave us a fuller understanding of the 10 commandments. He did not change them. They are still Gods Laws.

No one obeys the Ten Commandments. They were created to point to sin!

In Matt 22:34-40, The Pharisee's code of morality consisted of countless minute rules and regulations. Jesus summed up ALL moral obligations in the word love, expressed in the two-fold direction of God and neighbor. The quote in verse 37 is from the Jewish Shema (Duet 6:4, 5) and it says-

"Hear Oh Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is One. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words (commandments) which I command you today shall be in your heart."

Israels Obedience was to arise from a relationship based upon Love. Verse 5 is considered by Jesus to be the 1st and Greatest commandment. The Heart was considered the seat of the Mind and Will.

When Jesus quotes this passage in Mark 12:30 and Luke 10:27, He adds "MIND" to emphasize "UNDERSTANDING".

Jesus gave us a fuller understanding of the commandments. Thats whats meant by He came to fulfill the Law and the prophets.

The law of God is good provided one understands its function, which is to reveal sin AND to teach what is Right.

The Law is powerless to produce holiness of life. But the fault is not with Gods law but with the law of Sin, the indwelling depravity of human nature which rebels against Gods laws.

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is NOT SUBJECT TO THE LAW OF GOD, nor indeed can be.

But if one has the Spirit of God, Loves Him with all their heart, soul, strenght, mind, and loves their neighbor as themselves, then all the other laws of the 10 commands follow.

This is having the Laws of God written on our Hearts. This is obediance to the 10 commandments, out of a pure heart towards God and towards our neighbor.

True, but I hate using the word "Christian". It sounds too religious. Instead, I like to say, "the important thing is that you meet your Saviour; I know you'll love Him..." :)

I like that description. There are too many self-professing "Christians" out there now who sure don't know the Jesus spoken of in scripture. Instead they are following a false idol that they have created within their own minds and have named it Christianity. They are carrying G-d's name in vain.

The laws are in place to show the wicked that it is impossible to appear righteous before an all knowing G-d. We are all like filthy wrags according to the law. The penalty of the law was paid by Christ's blood and if we are His, our desire should be to observe the law to the best of our ability, although we won't be able to fully comply with the law since we are not perfect.

The Torah is the root of Christianity and as such, is still just as valid today as it was in the beginning. You won't find anywhere in scripture where Jesus or the Apostles did away with the Torah. Paul observed all of the Jewish feasts.

My family and I are just starting to learn about the biblical feasts and the importance of them. Not so that we can do some cold dead religious ritual, but because we have a desire to press further and further into G-d's presence. Our church is moving slowly in that direction, but it takes a lot of time for such things to transform as these things are new to us. I mean, I just explained to a friend not too long ago that dancing was something that I was taught as a child to be sinful and certainly not something you did in worship, which is actually a pagan rooted belief that has nothing to do with scripture....lol

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
