Men of the Bible

Hi!

If you could have been one of the men in the Bible, Who would you have been?

Please tell why?

Abraham - Friend of God

David - Man after God's own heart

Daniel - Beloved

Enoch - Walked with God

Elijah - can't recall any titles, but he sure must have been something awefully close to God!

John - The disciple whom Jesus loved

Peter and James - also close friends with Jesus

Enoch. To have loved God that much that he walked with God and was taken up to be with God and still has not died. I believe he will return to be one of the two witnesses in tribulation. I know there are those that disagree with me. It will either be Enoch of Elijah from the Old Testament.

My second one to be would be John the disciple whom Jesus loved. I don't believe he has died yet either and according to Revelations, the way I see it, he will be one of the two prophets in the tribulation. John actually walked with God in the flesh and was taught from His very own mouth.

It is a toss up. I really can't make up my mind but it would be one of the two.

Paul, because of his drastic conversion and his boldness for preaching the Gospel

John, because he lived so long, saw so much, and was so close to Jesus

Elijah, because he was used by God in awesome ways!

Normally i would have said Elijah because he was such a hoot! However, Moses would also be a hoot. Look at all the things he saw. What a diversified life, from the palaces to the ghettos to the wilderness. Ah - and the mountaintop with God. How awesome is that!

He stood for what was right and good from the time he was a young men until he was old. And he saw God do mighty work in protecting himself and his friends.

I just want to be me..... with Christ in me..... with the Spirit guiding me....

I love the men of the Bible, their lives are great examples of how we are to be, each has his own strength, and each has his own weaknesses.... we can learn from them all, even amos, and nahum, we can learn to expect and accept blessings as elisha, we can literally rock this world...... we can raise the dead, heal the sick, provide for those in need, love those that hate us, just by being our own selves.....

If I understand you correctly, you would have been yourself back during the early Christian times.

Or did you miss read the question?

My question was Who would you have been, tells us what man in the Bible.

I know it is hard for everyone to keep the topic of the thread on line.

I am just trying to understand your reply.

Your question as I understand it was "who would you have been", not who "would you have wanted to be". In that case, I would have been Simon Peter. Peter was regular guy who was the first disciple to recognize Christ's divinity but expressed his faith initially with a sword. Peter showed the most growth I think because he was able to overcome his guilt of denying Christ and actually became a fearless voice of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
