I've heard the story that my grandfather put up the Monopoly game. Why? It had dice!!! Of course, he also thought that JFK was the AntiChrist and he saw the devil working out of Elvis too!

Hi Angels, I do agree with you that cards are not for christians, they came from the tarot deck of cards originally, I believe that when the Lord teaches us from his word that is when we have a decision to make as to wether or not we will follow him, or our own ways, God says in Proverbs 23: 23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

God does not want us to be of this world, he wants our hearts to be his completly, and as we learn to walk in Him we see the things in our lives that are not pleasing to him, I played cards for years, my cousin however did not and she knew they originated from the tarot deck of cards, through her stand against them in the Lord I drew encouragement from the Lord and did my own search, and had my own decision to make, it was not a conviction from the Lord, but a decision to do what is pleasing in the Lords eyes, whether it is playing cards or anything else this world has to offer, Proverbs 23:23 buy the truth in God's holy word, seek his wisdom to make the decisions you need to make in this life, follow his instruction to keep you from the things of this world that cause our relationship with God to be altered in to how we want our relationship with him to be, rather than how God wants it to be, and with understanding, Proverbs 16 23 22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

Proverbs 2:11-13 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: 12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; 13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

Don't like 52 pick up.    Hey Neb, I will play jack with ya though. I even like sitting in the floor playing jacks with the grandkids. 

LOL, I haven't thought about jacks in years. I'm afraid right now, if I was down on the floor doing that, I might not be able to get back up so good, LOL!

With all you do you would not have any trouble getting up. It is after you get up that you would have a problem.

I had forgotten about that one. We have a solid black cat right now that is 13 years old. Our daughter gave him to us when he was six weeks old. He never did anything satanic that I have seen in all these years.

We named him TC because if we are not looking he will drink our iced tea or our cokes. So, his name is not Tom Cat, but Tea Cat.

Gary might tell a different story since if Gary is petting him and starts talking to me, TC gets jealous and attacks Gary.

back in my younger years, during my first marriage, prior to having children, i had a cat named LS. (i won't say what the intitials stood for!) why did we call him that? he would drink our alcoholic beverages, race around the apartment like a lunatic, and then pass out drunk in the bathroom!

(obviously this was during my not-so-close-to-God days)

I grew up playing Jacks with my mom and my 2 sisters. I got so good at it that I won the boys Jack Tournement in Junior High School. If the Lord tarries, I plan on teaching my local grand daughter to play jacks when she is old enough. She is only 3 now, so I've got a couple years to go - I think.

absolutely correct. we are not to be of this world. but we ARE to be IN this world. for the record, i just had an enjoyable evening out with my husband. we dropped a few coins in a slot machine. it was a video poker game, an electronic rendition of playing cards. i don't feel a bit guilty, and i don't think God's the least bit upset with me.

but i didn't stick around long enough to witness to anyone, either.
