When Paul continues into how this may look in interpersonal relationships he addresses them in very different non authoritarian language than what they are used to. He uses a metaphor/analogy of "head OF" and "body OF". (not OVER). This is a picture of interdependent relationship rather than authority. The wife is to view her husband as her metaphorical head and the husband is to view the wife as his metaphorical body nurturing, protecting and caring for her as he would his own body. Head of and body of are the picture of a one flesh relationship, the two together form one new entity = marriage.

Again, only you are using the word "authoritarian". I agree with this portion of what you're writing. I would point out though, that the "of" versus "over" doesn't really change much. Does my head not tell my body what to do? My body tells my head certain things, and then my head makes the decision regarding what to do with that information. The feet do not tell the arms to move, or the head to shake. The head itself does that.

I would also point out that the admonition is that the husband is the "head" as Christ is the "head" of the church. Are you suggesting that we are equals with Christ? That the church could just as easily make the decisions for itself as let Christ do it? No. Christ is naturally the leader of the church, just as the husband is naturally the leader in a marriage.
