The fate of Homosexuals?

The question is not whether someone believes in Jesus, but are they born-again by faith in Jesus? Even the demons believe!

James 2:19

You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe--and shudder!

If one is truly changed (the old nature has been crucified with Messiah) then they will NOT willfully participate in sin any longer. We MUST count ourselves dead to sin and alive in Messiah. If someone is unwilling to do that, then I am not sure they are truly saved.

Romans 6

1What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Wow, there certainly are alot of different takes on this subject. First of all I really appreciate everyones input. It took me like an hour to read through all 5 pages lol. Yes, you are all right in that my Uncle is STILL a practicing homosexual, and isn't doing much to turn from his sin. I really dont see much of any fruits of Christ in his life, other than that he's a 'good person' by human standards.

It's a hard subject to talk about with him because you know with homosexuals, if you question their sexuality you are questioning the very core of who they are. They define themselves by their sexuality, wheras straight people only see that as a fraction of their life.

I'm not sure where to start with him, but prayer is certainly a good place. God Bless all of you for your input, it is greatly appreciated!

Cajunboy::::You are wise beyond measures, child of God !! Prayer and Patience in this area is needed. Many times it's better to just allow God to work into his life and after enough bumps and bruises from life,, some actually do come around. Just as so many come to realize as they grow older and the sexual drive leaves them, they come to find God as well.

We'll be praying with you and for him and soooooo many others in the world as well. Without viewing anything you can pull up pornographic topics and see the hundreds and hundreds of hopeless people who are lost in that sad world!

I'd like to believe that your uncle will go to Heaven. I mean, he's only human, right? And how can it be expected of him not love whom he's going to love. I don't know much about the rules of Christian faith, but I do know that if you love someone, you should follow your heart.

I believe that if a person has accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, That they will still struggle with sin everyday. The key is repentence and acknoledging how much we need Jesus because we cant do it on our own. Like any other sin that plagues a person, homosexuals have a constant struggle to do Gods will and opposed to thier will. I think people get hung up on this one because it makes them uncomfortable, but all sin seperates from God, and its all bad. I can related as I have a homosexual half-brother. I should pray for him more than I do.

I will give you an example of an experience I have had first hand about how this sin gets a different reaction out of people. I met a person who boasts about being a Christian. He says "I read my bible every night", "I say my prayers", " I was raised in church and my father was a preacher" . Once the fact that a certain person was Homosexual in front of him and his reaction was to say things like, "he would beat him up", and "keep him away from me", and the every popular "well, he's going to hell". I came back at him with Judge not, yest you be judged. He looked at me like I was crazy.

So who knows, I try to love them the same as everyone. God does. Because I am not a homosexual, but I do struggle with sin everyday. I have been Saved for 24 years, I still struggle. I guess my point is THANK GOD FOR JESUS!!!!

Aaron, keep loving your uncle. sounds like you have a really good head on your shoulders, as far as both life and God go. you will know what to say, what to do, and how to act when you are around him. God will let you know. trust Him more than the words of men, and know that his soul is not something you can control! i'm impressed with you, your thoughts, and your concern! (i'm thinking God is, too!)

My Uncle doesn't need another debate/argument on the biblical views and dangers of homosexuality. He needs to know that he is still loved dispite his sin, just as Christ loves us dispite our sin.

the passage was written about those who had KNOWN GOD (not had some abstract knowledge of, but had known Him personally), not about those who had never had a relationship with Him. you and i have had this discussion before. if YOU push hard enough, it still won't fit...

known God personally?

you know God through scripture.

plus scripture wasnt written to the romans to know God personally.

and Jesus didnt travel to Rome so they can know Him personally.

Even if someone traveled into Rome and spread the news that doesnt qualify as personal.

Youre right we've had this talk and Paul wrote it criticizing Nero and if you want to fit it to

say homosexuals fit this cause then by all means....swing away.

So I have this question: Do you think that homosexuals, if they believe in Jesus, will go to hell?

I know that 1 Cor 6:9 says "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inhereit the kingdom of God? Do not be decieved. Niether fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulturers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites (male homosexuals).....10 will inherit the kingdom of God."

I always have thought that verse means exactly what it says, until I came across this verse: Romans 14:17 "For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."

Which would obviously mean that a homosexual cannot experience those things while in that sin. Please tell me what you think on this subject. Thanks!

Whether your uncle goes to heaven or not is up to God, not anyone on earth. If one looks at all the sins mentioned in the Bible that are to preclude one from getting into heaven, then none of us will get in. There are lots of people on here who might think they know who will go to heaven or not, but they don't its up to God, not them. Think about it this way, if you had a child that was Gay, would sentence them to everlasting damnation because of it?

I feel very sorry for people who've fallen into that trap of sin, homosexuality. Like all sins we humans find ourselves trapped in, we need to repent and turn away from it. It's very hard to do, especially when it's become a lifestyle. Like making bad eating choices all your life and now you have to live healthy or you'll suffer health problems. Spiritual health should be our bigger concern, and, though not as apparent as our physical health, it is far more important.
