What is "Holiness"?

Shalom,

Isaiah asked what is holiness.

I believe the Scriptures do say that we are to BE holy, as in actively walking in holiness.

I believe those who think outward actions alone make us holy are missing holiness.

I believe the Bible says that it is our HEART that is submitted to G-d, that makes us walk in holiness.

And, we are to not WILLFULLY choose sin. We must be dead to sin and alive in Jesus.

Romans 6:

1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

As for "just", some people need more answers.

I agree. But those answers would seem to be there in the Gospels. Is there anything about Jesus' life that would lead someone to think He was similar to "Goth" people? See, question answered.

I simply remember something in the other thread where this question was brought up. Someone even went so far as to say you couldn't find an example of the definition anywhere in the bible. I was pointing out that, yes, there is the ultimate example of holiness defined in Christ.
