I frequent a couple of fansites with message boards for my favourite books and tv series'...also, the distance-ed course I'm taking has a message board that I have to frequent and post at in order to get class participation marks. Worthy is definitely the one I keep tabs on the most, though.

I've been involved with several "secular" sites over the last couple of years related to guitar effects, but have stopped visting them. I still frequent a Christian musician site that has a small group that has been together for years. It's not as active as big boards like this, but the discussion is all "in the family", if you know what I mean. It's a nice refuge from the world & the constant debate with skeptics that goes on at most Christian sites.

I'm involved with a local community site that is cool because it's (almost) all people who live in my area, so it's got a very different feel than most internet boards. People tend to know each other IRL, which changes the dynamic considerably. If fact, we just got back from the site owner's house - they picked up some honey for us in return for us picking up some fresh corn for them last week. :emot-hug: There a few Christians on the board, but I'm one of only 2 really "conservative" Christians, so I get a lot of abuse there. :) I get burned out debating the skeptics over & over....

I visit carm.org from time to time when I'm in the mood for intense discussion, but lately I've been looking for something "lighter" that's more Christian fellowship than argument. Christianforums.com was overwhelming to me - just WAY too much going on! I gave up after a few minutes. Too much like a mega church for me. :24:

There's more here than I can keep up with, but I enjoy popping in a couple of times a days & participating a little here & there.

And remember, don't feed the trolls! :24:

Well, worthy boards is actually my "other site". I come here occasionally and post once in a while when i see something that I think needs a further explanation The main forum that I post on is (edited by moderator) - link removed) unexplained-mysteries.com (link), which I'd highly suggest if you are interested in anything related to unexplained events (including spirituality and religion, which is the section I generally enjoy the most, though I go all over the boards). It's a non-Christian board but you can speak freely about almost any matter, as long as it's legal and done in a respectful manner.

Oh, and for KeilanS,

Other boards are a lot harder to get the hang of. They expect you to already understand the intricacies of things like internet fads and chatspeak.
I've never had that problem on unexplained-mysteries. The forum Terms and Conditions specify that you cannot use chatspeak....... though we don't usually police a simple "lol" or some such, it's only when an entire post is filled with "I c u h8 me den u luv me, roflmaobbq" *example only - this sentence was made up*

Hey Keilan!...Great pictures  ,..one can see sooo much of God's love in creature, can' they!? :o

You would'nt have a pic of a Sparrow would you?,..it's for a "worthy" project,..if so would love to explain

Kindness and truth

Usually while I'm at worthy I have the other social board I frequent open in another window. And well, worthy boards certainly is a tame place compared to the rest of the internet

Does anyone else go to message boards besides worthy? If so, which ones?

i go to one other forum, but i hesitate to mention it, for fear someone will pick it apart!

I won't pick it apart, tell me!! Tell me! :emot-hug::emot-hug::emot-hug:

I can't stand it when someone says "I know something but I can't tell you". :emot-hug:

I go to two other boards that cater specifically for political discussion, because this is my "thing". But one of them gets too "heated" so I stay away from it for long periods until it "cools down". It ends up quite good because the moderation is pretty strict and they have a separate board for "conspiracy theories" where the rule is "no swearing" and "no personally attacking someone". And people actually adhere to those rules on "conspiracy ..." :emot-hug: , but on their main board the moderation rules are supposed to be the same but these are practically never enforced and I get sick of all the swearing and I'm thinking of deleting it for good.

I can't stand "one purpose" discussion boards or boards for discussion about "celebrities", soap operas "entertainment" - they are incredibly boring - in my opinion anyway.

This is the only Christian board that I go to though, and I think it is so wonderful now that I've got to know some of the people on it and can fellowship. :emot-hug:

I went to a couple of others where I got the address from Worthy Boards, but one closed (pity that was a really good one) and I gave up trying to register on the other, it kept coming up with "somebody with that name has already registered" and I used to get so frustrated. So it looks like you lot will have to put up with me for a while yet. :emot-hug:

(PS I just love the emoticons)

I go to a forum for a certain Webcomic that I follow. It's a whole lot quicker to check that forum than this one, for sure! (Usually only three or less active threads per day over there.)

Interestingly, that forum and this one were getting identical spam posts for a while. Both forums have now come up with ways to deal with the spammers, for which I am profoundly glad.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
