Because there is not a jot of evidence to say that it is.
Actually that is not true.

Mogog was a son of Japeth and according to Josephus (Book 1, chapter 6) the Magogites were also known by the Greeks as Scythians. Scythian burial mounds have been found in Russia and evidence of the Scythians has been found in the Ukraine. The City of Belsk in the Ukraine in the area known Poltava is believed by archeologists to be the ancient captial of Scythian empire.

I don't participate in, dangerous, infantile millenarian speculation. I focus on living my life as a Christian not participating in absurd fantasies cobbled together from tenuous and abusive readings of the Bible. There have passed nearly 20 centuries since those texts were written, and through those centuries folk on the crazy margins of Christianity have sought to to what you do now make them fit their own world view, they were all wrong.
The problem actually lies in your inability to admit that God is going to supernaturally defeat an alliance of nations that may include Islamic nations. You do not participate on much of any thread on this message board that has nothing to do with Islam. In particular, you are against the fact that God is going to supernaturally defeat them as they attempt to destroy Israel which you hate. That God is going to stand for Israel against your Islam greatly offends you.

You don't get it, do you? You made the initial claim that you had scholarship on your side. I merely asked you to prove it, your response is to go onto the attack. This would seem to highlight the weakness of your argument.

Amor - you attacked me first. And again, I did not make my statement to present an argument nor counter anything you had previously said. I truly do not understand your antagonism in this.

And I am tired of your many false assumptions of me being spoken as fact. Why should I grant your request if you cannot discuss the issue with civility?

I fail to see the connection between Ezekiel 38-39 and trying to foretell "the day or hour" of Jesus' return. :taped:

The connection is that it is the text upon which which your eschatological house of cards is built.

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 "Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of [a] Meshech and Tubal; prophesy against him 3 and say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. 4 I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army

Better to speculate and be wrong than to not speculate and miss its fulfilling, don't you think?

If something is going happen it will happen whetther you have been speculating about it or not. Better to be prepared for anything than spend time playing fortune teller.

I see you are in libel mode again, it's ages since you last started frothing at me. I've quite missed you! However I do not hate Israel and I am not a Muslim. I do however have a low opinion of crazed extremist however they denominate themselves. It is true that I don't like the present Israeli government or indeed the Bush regime, I don't like Hamas or Fatah either. I however know that there will sooner or later be a peace settlement qhich will lead to the establishment of a viable Palestinian state alongside Israel, most Israelis and Palestinians, however much they may dislike each other know and expect this too.

Let's make it clear then I do not wish to see the destruction of Israel, but neither do I wish to see the continued suffering and oppresion of the Palestinians continue.

As I have said to you in the past, if you think what I'm saying is not true, look at my old posts and prove me wrong. Here they are. You won't be able to of course, so you'll make some feeble excuse.

Sadly I think your approach to debate at times takes cue from that old Goebbels quote

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.

No one is fortune telling here amor. Much of the bible consists of prophecy. Prophecy was used to demonstrate God's omniscience, omnipresence and omnipotence.

False prophets were dealt with harshlywhen they would make untrue claims. This had to be done in order to preserve the credibility of God's true prophets.

It is true we do not know when all these events will take place, but there are many passages that guide us along the way.

We are told to be vigilant and to always look up. God wants us to pay attention to world events so that we can prepare ourselves and our loved ones for His return. He doesn't want us caught off guard. I believe in pre-millennialism and a pre-tribulation rapture. That is my eschatological belief. Depending on how you interpret the bible or who you allow to interpret the bible, there are many differnt beliefs that people share. Ridiculing your brethren because of their beliefs is wrong and you will not gain any friends in doing that.

Now, Shiloh posted some very interesting facts and you didn't even acknowledge them. This tells me that you have a preconceived notion of how you want things to be and no matter what facts are submitted before you, you will overlook them and continue trying to defend your position.

Whatever, dude. Since you got nothing else to contribute to the debate, then cede your position and let others actually have a conversation and when you can bring proof to strengthen your position and facts that may actually have a substantial impact on the debate, then feel free to chime in.

Eschatology is a touchy subject and if we can actually have an open discussion about our POV on things, then maybe we can all find something we can agree upon. As it is, you got the replacements, the premilennialists, milennialists, pre-trib, mid-trib, post-trib, etc.

But, I think most of us at least have the bible as the foundation of our views. Now, we should all use the bible more, to strengthen our arguments. Why are we at worthyboards? To see how many barbs we can throw at each other? Does our pride bring us back here post after post after post, to fight and bicker amongst ourselves?

I came to worthyboards to lean more about Christ, but to also become more informed of what the world is going through.

I am here because I am desperate. It feels like the world is spinning out of control and that the enemy is winning. I'm not afraid of defeat, because I know the final score, but we have to muddle through life together and constantly battle the forces of evil working against us. What is our purpose in life here? As a Christian, our purpose is to bring as many people to Christ as possible, because we believe He is the only one who can help us.

I feel like we are failing, more people are turning against us, they're corrupting our churches, our Bible and in some places our hearts. Wide is the road to Hell and narrow is the path to Heaven. Now I know why. There's 6 billion people living today, not 1/3 of them will make it to Heaven.

Are we failing God? Or is the heart of man so wicked that there is nothing we, or even God can do to change that?

Fortune telling? Amor, you are seriously scraping the barrel with this one.

Ah so you did listen to him once!

And I was nine years old or so when I read that book. I've learned a lot since then . . . like the tooth fairy isn't real.

More seriously, all these false prophets are proved wrong and have been over the past 2000 years. That's why I there is no virtue in taking them seriously.

How many times do I have to ask you to quit assuming. Just because I am trying to engage in a discussion rather than a debate does not mean I have unreliable or shady resources to draw from.

I'm done trying to reason with you. If you cannot respect my need to not engage in debating, then there is no use in my futher communicating with you.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
