I'll be moving out to the Wild West shortly

Our sin condemns us, but He gives us a way out of that condemnation.

I will be joining our Founding Fathers, Lincoln, Edison, Einstein, Hawkins, Gandhi, The Dalai Lama and many other wonderful people. I live a good moral life.

And many people I admire too.

Living a moral life doesnt cut it though. At one point you have sinned and that sin condemns you. Jesus offers life.

Hitler goes to Heaven, while our Fouding Fathers go to Hell. America was born out of deistic principles and freedom of religion. Why does Christianity have a monopoly over religion?

It seems arrogant of Jesus to claim that you must accept me into my heart or suffer enternal damnation.

Cool Im in Arizona. Land of cactus, cowboys, Indians, tumbleweed and dust storms.

What makes you think hitler is in heaven?

Christianity doesnt have a monopoly over religion. Christianity is the one that follows the Lord. No other religion follows Him at this time.

He is Lord. He is not arrogant. He came to pay the price so you dont have to. He is offering you life.

Hi there, Gettin' In Tune!

I am an atheist. I hope you don't mind if I reply to your post. I have great respect for Thomas Paine. I agree with you that he is "America's unsung patriot." I've read "The Age of Reason" at least 3 times and I gain more respect for his insight each time I read it. I'm looking forward to reading replies also from anyone who is familiar with his work (not just his writing, but all that he did)

It's interesting that one poster said:

Have you read any C.S. Lewis perhaps? He went from atheist, to deist, to Christian, and makes the logical case for his transition.

This is especially interesting to me because from my readings and research I did just the opposite. I went from christian to deist to atheist. I will have to read about C.S. Lewis. I've read the "Narnia" series but that doesn't give much insight into the writer's journey.

Glad to see a fellow questioner on the site. Going against the grain is hard to do.

Hello disEnchanted.

Jump right in and join the fun.

I am a "non-theist-agnostic-deist". I am still in my cultivating process, but it seems that I am generally graviting towards a "fence leaner".

I am curious about your conversion from deism to atheism. Did you cultivate your deism? What were the reasons you left deism to become an athiest?

I'll begoing to NM.

Christianity doesnt have a monopoly over religion. Christianity is the one that follows the Lord. No other religion follows Him at this time.

In this country it does and in the world it is an oligoply power along with Muslims and Hindus.

A religion is a set of common beliefs and practices generally held by a group of people, often codified as prayer, ritual, and religious law. I share many christian ethics and morals, but why do I have to follow the Lord? Who's Lord am I supposed to follow since their are various interpretations of the Lord. Why do I have to belief in him in order to go to heaven?

Think that he is a christian or go to heaven?

It is a moot point. Hitler's faith is arguable; whether he remained a christian throughout his life or abandoned his christianity. I was using him to make a statement that people commit atrocities but can still go to heaven if they repent and take Jesus as their Savior. To me this is perverse.

Again christianity has a monopoly on religion in America. The United States was not founded to be an officially christian nation or to espouse any official religion. Chrisianity leaks into our politics and schools. If you live in certain places, some people are afraid to come of the

If life was fair, all of us would go to hell. But God in His love and mercy offers us a way out, if we repent and turn to Jesus, we can be saved. You have that chance as much as anyone else does.

I think we just disagree here. My "god" will not send me to hell.

Here are a couple of scenarios at want to propose.

1. I live my whole life not taking jesus into my heart and at the last minute before my death accept jesus and go to heaven?

Yes, I do believe that the heart of mankind is good. It is usually a few bad apples in any groups that give the rest a bad name.

Romans 3:Rom 3:9 What then? Do we excel? No, in no way; for we have before charged both Jews and Greeks all with being under sin,

Rom 3:10 as it is written: "There is none righteous, no not one;

Rom 3:11 there is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God."

Rom 3:12 "They are all gone out of the way, they have together become unprofitable, there is none that does good, no, not one."

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
