It's like asking:

"Do you have personal Christian Friends who are Adulterers?"

"Do you have personal Christian Friends who are Murderers?"

"Do you have personal Christian Friends who practice Witchcraft?"

"Do you have personal Christian Friends who are Thieves?"

etc.

Light/Dark?

It doesn't jibe.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Sin is sin! and what's the difference between the sins above that OP listed than any other sin? Like lying, self-righteousness, hypocricy, the list goes on and on and no one escapes judgement for any sin. At least the sins that the OP listed are sins that neither the sinner nor the brother is able to ignore, cause they are in the face of everyone day and night....the ones I listed are sins that the sinner is not able to easily recognize because they have decieved themselves and hardened their hearts against God, themselves and their brothers and sisters. And usually continue in them. And I happen to hang out with a whole slew of Christian sinners who commit the very acts that I listed above...few of them are right here at Worthy too!

Matt 23:5 "But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments.

Mat 23:25 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence.*

Jesus said, He didn't come not for the righteous but the unrighteous, He came for the sinner!!

I absolutely hate these threads where people get to look upon the sins of others, yet fail to even recognize their own and say to themselves, I just could never find myself eating at the same table as that nasty old tax collector!! Pa-lease!

light/dark? It doesn't jibe, now does it?

You are denying the Power of God, jackie. There is something to be said for "a new creation" and "righteousness".

This is why Jesus said the following, because the tax collectors and prostitutes DID receive the instruction on righteousness, and were not "offended" by it.

Matthew 21:31..........Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.

NEW CREATIONS!

2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Gal 6:15 Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is a new creation.

DENYING THE POWER OF GOD, TO PERFORM HIS AWESOME WORK OF CHANGE?

2 Tim. 3:5 having a form of godliness but denying its power.

All things are possible with God!!!

In His Love,

Suzanne

I am doing no such thing Suzanne, on the contrary I am magnifying the power of God in His ability to discern the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Those things unseen that cause us to be as leaven to the body of Christ. Including them who view themselves so "righteous" as to sit in a seat of judgment regarding the sinner. I am discrediting those who believe they have the ability to judge and trust their judgment of their own hearts.

Those sinners who wanted Christ, who accepted Him at His word. I do not speak of them Suzanne. I speak of the unrighteous Christian looking upon those obvious sinners as being somehow less than those of self-righteousness.

NEW CREATIONS!

2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Gal 6:15 Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is a new creation.

all fine and good for those who remain humble about themselves, for he who is forgiven much loves much, loving above all Christ. And those in this catagory would remember quite well where they came from and would consider quite carefully casting apsersions on another for their obvious sin.

DENYING THE POWER OF GOD, DENYING THE POWER OF GOD, TO PERFORM HIS AWESOME WORK OF CHANGE?

2 Tim. 3:5 having a form of godliness but denying its power.

I take nothing from the Lord for I of all people know that through Him all things are possible for I was and am the most wretched of sinner. It's funny, the one Man who walked the earth had more problem with the self righteous and hypocirital than He did those who admittedly had sin and shortcomings.

"TO PERFORM HIS AWESOME WORK OF CHANGE?"

Let me start by saying that the awesome work of change will be quite obvious by the fruits of our labor. Let us labor with one another in love. He that knows not love knows not God, for God IS love.

2 Timothy 2

19 Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."

1 John 3

4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. 5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. 6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. 7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. 9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

11 This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous. 13 Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Do you really believe that Jesus leaves us in the condition in which He found us?

Do you think He calls us to be "sanctified" and "set apart" as His, which is not to practice abominable sex and lust of the flesh, any longer.

Or do you really think that a person bought and purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ still lives a homosexual lifestyle? How about a murderous, serial killer? Does he continue to kill?

This should be what we know about Jesus.........He changes a true follower! Unless we're talking about 2 different Jesus's???

The One I know, has the power to change people. That is why I cannot even fathom the title of this thread.

what? Suzanne, sometimes I wonder if people are purposefully obtuse.

The One I know does too...please don't pull the "my God" card on me.

I can't stand these threads because of all of the harsh and unkind opinions people throw around with tones of self righteous indignation. As if that's going to change anything...

Just like the lying thread in Gen Discussion...they all go like this "I'm right"..."no, I'm right" ..."you aren't in alignment with the word of God"..."no you aren't" blah blah blah

I wasn't arguing with you about what you said, I was adding to it.

I would like to hear from your personal experiences if you have Christian Friends who are Gay ? I've often heard in other Worthy Topics where people speak of their "many" gay friends. I was just wondering, if you know someone who lives a homosexual lifestyle (which we're instructed is sexual sin, along with many other types), or if you perhaps attend church with a friend who is a practicing homosexual, do you feel comfortable with your relationship knowing that the Bible forbids it!

1Cor 5:9-13 When I wrote to you before (meaning Paul to Cor.), I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. But I wasn't talking about unbelievers who indulge in suexual sin, or who are greedy or are swindlers or idol worshipers. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. What I meant was that you ar not to associate with anyone who claims to be a Christian, yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy , or worships idols, or is abusive or a drunkard, or a swindler. Don't even eat with such people.

It isn't my responsibility to dudge outsiders, but it certainly is your job to judge those inside the church who are sinning in these ways. God will judge those on the outside, but as the Scriptures say, "you must remove the evil person from among you." (I can only assume that we are not to associate with these type of sinners for fear that it might eventually lend itself to an "accepting" tendency, or even worse!

It is very evident that with all the recent Judicial and Legislative decision making on the "homosexual orientation" agenda, that many are becoming "desensitised" in this area of life, and it's becoming a more acceptable "lifestyle" even though we all know God's views on it.

And I do realize that we are to "LOVE" or neighbors as we love our own, so before you go off defending another scripture/verse here, I would ask that we stay on topic and on "scripture."

Thanks in advance

Any thoughts?

Cajunboy

There is no such thing as a gay Christian. Even though a gay person might consider them self to be a Christan, they are an abomination in the eyes of God.

I agree.

That doesn't mean, though, that they can't be saved from their gay lifestyle.

Absolutely Sweetycakes. The gay lifestyle is a bondage just like the drugging lifestyle and where there is bondage, deliverance is needed.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
