Dear sw,

Do you know why the people hated Jesus and wanted to kill Him?

It's clarified in His Word.

In His Love,

Suzanne

I gave it my best shot to enter into a reasonable discussion with you about the topic, but I guess it is not to be.

Then why the contention toward me? I have principally been posting the Word of God and encouraging to walk in the Spirit? So, why do people get so stirred when the posting of the Word with regard to "sin" comes up? I find this to be a consistent occurrence.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Me too. People just don't realize that when the Lord Jesus comes in, He frees us from the bondage of sin. Yes, we still sin, but we are free NOT to! That is the difference. Those without Christ can't help but sin, for they have no choice. When we are aptized with power, we can be totally free from the drive to commit these types of deep, soul-scarring sins, such as homosexuality. It's easy-peasy for God to free us.

But the problem with this idea which seems easy enough is it equates sin only with specific acts. That is the heresy of Pelagianism. We may no longer be complete slaves to sin but we still carry our sinful nature so that even our best works are tainted with sin. It is quite easy to acknowledge and confess sin when it is easily identifiable but how many of us are willing to look at our very best works, the best our religious aspirations have to offer and confess those as sins too?

if a homosexual fails to see that their lifestyle is sinful, they are as Christian as any of us.

How can you say that? A homosexual who comes to salvation in Jesus Christ knows instantly that they have been sinning. They cannot fail to know. What do ypu think they asked Jesus to forgive them of?

That is simply not true. It is our nature to try to justify and rationalize our sins. We shut our eyes to the truth in those areas of our lives that we wish to hang on to, even after coming to Jesus. As we grow in faith, and in our relationship to Him, God reveals to us more and more of those things in our life which we never acknowledged as sin.

As we come closer and closer to perfect Holiness, more and more of our sin is revealed to us.

Peace,

Fiosh

Are you not in agreement with the above sw, Fiosh, Scarlet?

Of course, but isn't that the problem and not the solution? The law is not a remedy for sin unless we can keep it as well as you and Jesus. We are never told that our sinfulness is forgiven by keeping the law. If we confess our sins then God promises to forgive them. The good morals and behavior that you seem to believe will please God really do nothing with regard to the problem of sin.

Hi Cobalt 1959, I am a bit troubled about the way this thread is getting to a finger-pointing issue. I can see where tsth is coming from and in no way is she sounding self righteous to me. Nobody is suggesting that homosexuality is worse than any other sin. However is does come into the category of sexual immorality, which gets more coverage in both testaments than any other sin mentioned.

Now in saying that ,I don't expect when anyone accepts Christ as their Lord and saviour, that they automatically stop doing what they were doing immediately, but as floating axe, pointed out the reason for turning to the Lord in the first place, should not be only for saving yourself from the pit of hell, but seek Jesus to help you with a problem. So if homosexuality is a problem, you must know that it is wrong if you have got as far as repenting. From there on in, it's up to the person either to choose whether to follow their own fleshy desires or follow Jesus.

No one is claiming that's not hard, because in most cases it is. I am not talking about the hiccups that we stumble over in our daily christian walk, but deliberately sinning when you have been made clear of the circumstances. Far too much nit picking and hair splitting goes on. No one can argue against the scripture that Suzanne quoted from the bible and no one can say that she is pointing her finger at any specific brethren on this board, unless I have missed it.

eric,

The problem I'm having is that tsth refuses to engage in discussion and prefers to pontificate. Whether or not it is intended, it comes across as self-righteous. She has not answered questions from several posters that were addressed to her. And, she implies that her interpretation of Scripture is the final word, and that anyone who dare disagree with her is "not believing in Scripture" and are "walking in the gray".

Here are some of her posts that reflect what I'm saying:

I don't think you can blame "society", I think it's the love of practicing evil.

***************************************************************8

tsth,

If you believe that a person can lose their salvation through their actions then yes, a person who is a homosexual, or any other sin for that matter, is no longer a Christian until they repent.

(In answer to your question, no, I do not believe what you stated above. I do believe that they were not really saved in the first place, they are false conversions....

*******************************************************************

So, is the general consensus that you do not believe the Scriptures? I always find it interesting when the majority would rather walk in gray than the obvious. Why do you not encourage/promote/teach what is written?

*********************************************************************

So, wouldn't it be more profitable/edifying to teach from the passages I posted? Why walk in gray?

I never understand WHY there is always opposition to these teachings? Why would we want to go any other direction? These things are profitable and good.

*************************************************************************

Many people seemingly misquote those passages regarding Paul.

***********************************************************************

I find it interesting that much of your contention is with the Scriptures

*************************************************************

Then why the contention toward me? I have principally been posting the Word of God and encouraging to walk in the Spirit? So, why do people get so stirred when the posting of the Word with regard to "sin" comes up? I find this to be a consistent occurrence.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
