Thank you Fiosh for explaining where you are coming from regarding tsth's posts.....Well it's perhaps borderline, but as she states that she is more or less repeating scriptual teaching from the bible's scriptures, not claiming that, this is the way she lives her life.

Being self righteousness, to me, is trying to enforce upon others, that you are not a christian unless you live as they themselves live, thereby being further up the ladder of salvation than they are.....if you get my drift. I don't thimk that Suzanne trys to get above anybody else and I have been reading her posts since she first came to worthy.

I appreciate your problem and as you are very special to, me as a sister in Christ, I will withdraw from making any further comments on this particular thread.

You know sis, I'm a real old Teddy bear at heart and I don't like to see christians getting sucked into the adversary's snares, sooo I get a little outspoken at times. :th_praying::whistling:

I have twice given you all my testimony. I am sorry that you do not remember it, perhaps then you would understand the what this thread is about.

It IS about a new life in Christ Jesus, that will bring about great change, because of the Truth in His Word. To dismiss the power of God to change people's lifestyles, is so astounding to me. Especially since I have experienced His deliverance....and come out of darkness to live a "new" life....To promote anything other than that would be so neglectful as a Christian. We should always acknowledge the Power of our God, to be able to deliver us.

Acts 5:20

"Go, stand in the temple courts," he said, "and tell the people the full message of this new life."

Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

1 Cor. 5:7 Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast--as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

Ephesians 4:21 Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. 25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.

Matthew 9:17 Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved."

In His Love,

Suzanne

And once again........................... :emot-hug:

You know tsth, I've agreed with you about so many other things on this board, I'm just not getting "WHY" we can at least understand where the other one is coming from on this one. Maybe its just something the Lord is giving us all to work on.

I would kind of have to agree with Scarletprayer and others on this thread, Suzanne. Your answers tend to be a bit evasive, even if that is not how you intend to come across.

One thing I would point out is that you cannot just throw out verses and expect others to catch or see what you see. It comes across as haughty. Once again, I don't think that is how you mean to be perceived, but on the receiving end, that is others take from it.

There used to be another man who posted on here. Remember DadErnie Suzanne? Someone would ask him a question and quite often his response would be to just pepper them with verses and he would expect them to see his point and it is a very ineffective and somewhat offputting way to make your point. You end up simply frustrating people who are genuinely trying to understand your point of view.

You need to actually start giving intellectually satisfying, DIRECT answers to the questions put to you by others in this thread and insted of the evasise almost cryptic answers you have provided if you want your position to be viewed with any degree of credibility. Otherwise you leave others with no choice but to form their opinions on the both thescant information you have provided and your conspicuous refusal to give direct answers to very simple and direct questions.

Ok, tsth, I've had a good night's sleep; went to Mass and received Holy Communion. Now I will try again, with the help of the Holy Spirit, and Christ in me, to dialogue with you as a sister in Christ, rather than as an adversary.

First, I request that you answer a few questions so I can better understand where you are coming from:

1. Do you ever sin?

2. How often do you repent of sin?

3. Do you believe that an individual with a sinful lifestyle, drug/alcohol addiction for example, can give their life to Christ yet not IMMEDIATELY & completely stop their sinful behavior?

Thank you for your consideration of these questions.

Peace,

Fiosh

If you are in agreement and understand the "Slaves to Righteousness" thread, then there is no further need for argument here.

I humbly withdraw from the back and forth on this thread, as I don't believe ANY amount of MY own opinions matter. If the posting of Scripture cannot be used to contend on this topic, then there is no need to go any further, and I do not intend to argue over the Word of God. Obviously this thread has not been edifying to the majority here, for that I am truly sorry. This thread was not to condone sin, but to encourage the walk in the Spirit, pure and simple. I did not want to discuss the flesh, but rather The Spirit.

In His Love,

Suzanne

It is not that the posting of Scripture cannot be used to contend on this topic; rather is it the posting of Scripture along with the courtesy of explaining to others what you see and the willingness to answer direct questions put to you. It really is a matter of common Christian courtesy, which you seem unwilling to render to your readers. So much for "walking in the Spirit" I guess...

Please note that tsth still refuses to respond to simple, direct questions.

I rest my case.

Flesh and spirit are not separated till death. One can not discuss one without the other.

I, too, am sorry that we can not come to some sort of understanding on this.

and I believe that as a born-again believer, there is NO WAY that I can actively live my previous life.

I think this sums up what I think our sister is trying to relay. One who actively, or with express intent to live according to the manner of the old man. There are still many things that must be dealth with by our Lord in us. And I pray that we allow Him to do His work. God want's to see Christ, thats it. If one continues to willfully live according to a lifestyle contrary to the Life that he/she supposely has in them then...

We will make mistakes and fall, but these things are so that we demand more of the Life of Christ. He is the only One who can properly live out this human life. It has already been proven. Without Christ we can do nothing.

ruck1b, are you willing to discuss this with me? If so, read my 3 questions to tsth about a page or 2 back and respond.

Thanks,

Fiosh

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
