Well since I'm also from the UK, guns aren't exactly the norm here. The only "guns" I've ever owned are BB guns! :emot-highfive: Other than that, I fired semi-automatic rifle when we did shooting practise in army cadets at a camp thing we went to for a weekend. I have a very good natural aim it turns out!

That aside though, I wouldn't by a gun nor own one. If someone attacked me or broke into my house I would defend myself and possibly beat them with something if need be. I wouldn't let someone try to harm my family if I could help it. If someone tried to attack with a gun and I somehow managed to disarm them, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot them in the legs or something to protect myself or those I'm with, I couldn't kill though.

But with such possibly extreme examples aside, I don't put my trust in weapons to protect and keep me safe. Since I, and all of you too, have something much more powerful - we have the LORD!

Psalm 91:

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling

Couple things.

All those folks that listed thier firearms on this thread, you do realize you just left a record thta will make it much easier for the government to relieve you of your firearms when the time comes that they get scared enough of the people to disarm them.

Secondly some of yall say you have to register your gun. where do yall live?? I have never, and will never register any gun i own. Why make it easier for the Govt to find them?? Talk about blatant violation of the 2nd amendment!! sheesh

Like Chuck Heston said..."out of my cold, dead hands."

People in the US will not just turn over their arms like others have, its silly to think they would. :emot-highfive:

:emot-highfive: I totally agree with both these posts :emot-highfive::emot-highfive:

As an interesting side note, my Paw Paw was shot 3 times on two separate occasions while turkey hunting. The first time they shot him, he yelled, and they shot him again

The turkeys shot your Paw Paw?? Amazing birds!

Haha, no, but the third time he was shot, he was shot by the guy he was hunting with. Turkey hunting is dangerous. He lived though. He was known for being pretty much indestructible. He was shot 3 times, snake bit twice, had fingers cut off in a chain saw accident, had a heart attack, and finally at age 74, a stroke is what finally did him in.

With that kind of constitution, he must have been a Republican.:emot-highfive:

Register?? No way, Jose.

I'm wondering how many respondents here are members of the NRA? I'm a lifetime member.

If the law requires me to register my guns, I will register them. Actually, having grown up on military installations, most of them have already been registered.

If the law requires me to turn them in, I will turn them in... even if I am reluctant to do so. I am not going to live outside the law on the issue of gun ownership.

Regardless, there is not much chance of that happening in the United States considering that it would require overturning the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution... and that is highly unlikely.

NO...I do not belong to the NRA due to their stance on many issues. Personally, I do not support the private ownership of assault rifles and fully automatic weapons. I think the NRA is too extreme.

Funny thing? My parents never let me own a BB gun or a pellet gun. My first gun was an over/under .22 caliber rifle/20 guage shotgun single shot. It is a neat collector's piece. I was given it by my father when I was 6 years old!!!

The logic? My parents believed that a firearm in the hands of a child should be closely supervised regardless of caliber. My father (a cowboy from Montana) also believed it important that his children know how to properly handle and use a firearm. I was raised in the woods and on the rivers hunting and fishing most every weekend. Regardless, BB guns and pellet guns were deemed too dangerous since most children and youngsters "played" with them... and no weapon should be "played" with.

Haha no, FDR Southern Democrat, I don't think he ever voted Republican in his entire life. However, I do know that even though he never voted Republican, they said that if they ever were to, they probably would have voted for Goldwater. He also only had like 4 sick days in his over 40 years at Reynolds Metals.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
