In the survey, I voted that abortion was my top issue because I see it as our greatest moral failure. We are defiling our land by shedding innocent blood at the rate of approximately 1.3 million babies per year. God will not stand for that, and judgement will surely come. When that does occur, the citizens likely won't understand it is judgement, but will simply think our nation simply collapsed or was defeated militarily, but it will be the hand of God. I believe God has been sending warning signs already, through natural dissasters like the earthquakes we have been encountering, and the storm that destroyed much of New Orleans. I also believe he allowed the 9-11 attack to occur because of our sins. I'm not saying God led the terrorists to attack us, though based on Biblical precident it is possible, but that he removed his hand of protection from us to get our attention. Having God on our side is greater protection than the mightiest of military forces. It is having a literal army of angels fighting along side of our soldiers. If God is our enemy and has turned his face against us, it doesn't matter how many bombs we have, or how great our armies. We will go down in defeat.

By the way, the government makes moral policies all the time. When they have laws against murder, theft, rape, prostitution, drug use, slander, etc., they are making laws based on morality. People just like to make distinctions with regard to what a moral law is. They claim you can't legislate morality, yet they do all the time.

First, since we are living under a dispensation of Grace, G-d is not exercising judgment on anybody or any nation at this time. Earthquakes, terrorist attacks, famine, etc. are all the results in living in a sin-cursed world which is, I believe, in decline. And also the result of a sin nature that is, in so many cases, allowed to run unchecked in people's lives. The time of G-d's judgment is yet to come. I think the preponderance of NT teaching leads in that direction.

Second, loosely stated, I guess we could say all laws are laws of morality. Very loosely. As I mentioned before, the only just laws are laws that protect us from bad people; protect us from bad people taking our property--our tangible property, our intellectual property and our life, which natural law says is the essence of "private property. As far as legislating morality, again I say NO WAY would I trust anybody in power to tell us right from wrong when they themselves don't know right from wrong. How nuts is that??

I just got to vote here. I had my ten posts. Was so excited.

I voted for Israel. I think if our country has a right relation

with Israel, then alot of other problems will be solved. Also,

I think God blesses those who bless Israel.

Since you did say public policy, I chose Defense. I don't think government should meddle in morality or ethics. Since most of our elected officials are liars, adulterers, hooligans, and charlatans, I wouldn't want them to be our moral arbiters. I mean, would you trust them to come down on the right side of a moral issue?

I say let the government do what the Constitution dictates they should do, starting with defending these Unites States.

Well said by a true Christian "Washington Insider" :whistling:

Although outlawing things like Porn or other Sociatal Vices that "Don't hurt anyone" is a good idea. :emot-questioned:

I couldn't vote, because my issue isn't there. It's illegal immigration, followed closely, maybe evenly, by taxes, which is there.

Definately. This should be in everyone's top three. :emot-questioned:

I voted Moral Issues although I feel Abortion is a Moral Issue that should be made a Criminal Issue.

That's me though.

Marnie I agree that government should in no way be a "moral judge" but I do think Laws reflecting Judao-Christian Values is going to benefit everyone. You wouldn't legalize drugs would you. Those laws could be considered "blue". :emot-questioned:

I would decriminalize certain "softer" drugs, and impose harsh punishments when they are abused, much like what happens with alcohol now. I would not legalize any, though.

The Laws of Moses I do not consider morality laws; they were laws given to maintain an orderly society.

Porn, in theory, hurts those involved in the industry; women especially are routinely taken advantage of. However, as much as I detest it, I wouldn't outlaw it. I'm not sure what other societal vices you are referring to.

Marnie: 85% of all child molesters view the junk. It will permenately change the way a young man views a woman (outside of Christ's redemptive work). She's reduced in his eyes and that reduction is taken into a marrage. You've got to admit that the erosion of the nuclear family is the primary factor in our growing crime rate.

Yep, I can't disagree with that. It's on the parent's head to raise that young man right so he'll walk past the dirty magazine rack and install filters on the home computer. Freedom of speech and censorship cuts both ways. We take theirs away, they take ours away; it's the curse of living in a pluralistic society. If parents and the local Church did their jobs and stopped abdicating their child-raising responsibilities, many of our "societal ills" would vanish. But far too many parents are pursuing the "American dream" at the expense of their children, preferring to pawn them off on tired grandparents, hey, what else do they have to do, right, and it's free!, or daycare where the kids are exposed to who-knows-what. That irks me...if you can't afford to raise them, don't have them.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
