The more I read about the demonic, the more questions I have! :)

OK...do you believe that there are certain demons for sicknesses and afflictions? Like the demon of cancer, or the demon of flu, or even something like the demon of drugs and alcohol? Or a demon of divorce?

I see a lot of pastors on TV who cast out such thing.....is this possible?

I do not think that it matters. Jesus cast out demons. Therefore there are demons. He cast out demons of affliction as illustrated by the "legion" that he cast from the demoniac who lived among the tombs. The interesting thing to me is that we should be denying the evil one a place in out lives. The verse that says "by the stripes of Jesus you were healed" is in the context of dealing with sin and NOT the healing of our bodies. It is interesting that one verse says "Even as you have received Him, so walk in Him." In 1 John 1 it says "if we walk in the light as He is in the Light, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin." III John says "I pray that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers."

Thus, we have a chain of work done by The Holy Spirit in the believer that produces cleansing from sin, fellowship with God and fellow believers, understanding of the Word of God and guidance in this world for the path we should take, and healing for our bodies. This process reduces the hold of the enemy on our lives because the sin and flesh are dealt with as we go through life. The places in our lives that the enemy uses can get smaller very quickly.

So, let's emphasize the positive about our savior and the work of His Spirit, and the wonderful benefits there are for us as a result of His Work.

God bless you and Have a nice day.

I liked reading your answer....but that's not quite what I was looking for. It really doesn't tell me if there are specific demons for sicknesses and afflictions.

Yes, there are specific demons of affliction and disease, drug use and such. I doubt divorce. But there are generational curses that include divorce and broken relationships, drug use and alcoholism in families.

You cannot, however, go looking for a demon around every corner and behind every trouble. Trouble comes from plain old sin. Humans are unspeakably evil also!

Depends which denomination you attend. I belong to none and I do not believe that there are demons of clinical illnesses. My teeth have gone, my eyesight is dimming and my hearing is dodgy, but that's because they were neglected. When I was in the working force, their was no safety wear like ear muffs and galsses (unless you were in the engineering trade) not to mention I am aging. Now after saying that, I don't question the healing power of the Lord, but chasing demons is not what He died for. I'll say again, demons cannot cross the blood of the Lamb and cannot invade the temple, which is the abode of the Holy Spirit, which we are told is the christian's body. You got demons, you haven't got Christ.

If I take my focus off the Lord and step outside the protection of the temple, I get what I deserve.........and I have had plenty...........that is until I really got stuck into the word. Now no demon can get through my armour.

Indeed. Without Christ we are all filthy with sin...

Yes there is a spirit of infirmity... it has nothing to do with sin and sometimes it does. Do me a favor. Look up sickness and diseases of the bible. You will see. The Holy Spirit will show you. The wwoman with the issue of blood, the woman of God in the synagouge . Whatever. We have authority over all things in His Name..Jesus. It is the wisdom and knowledge to know who, what, where, and when according to the will of the father. patricia and

eric it does depend on denomination to what one believes but thank the Lord Jesus it Doesn't matter to Him... love patricia

Ware Sis,

Something Is Turning Your Mind And Eyes Away From The LORD Jesus.

Jesus Will Whip Them Demonic Critters...

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:8

And He Commands Us To Keep Ourselves In Him...

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

John 15:3-6

And To Watch Our Thoughts...

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:8

Because He Knows Best.

Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.

Numbers 6:24-27

Love, Your Brother Joe

I believe today I am being tormented by a demon of laziness, cause I sure don't feel like workin'.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
