Everybody where was dead? Columbia University? The man's said plenty of stupid things, particularly about the Holocaust or his desire to see Israel wiped from the map, that you can challenge very easily, without inventing things he hasn't said. Also, I really doubt that the policies of Columbia University would make the president of Iran, think twice about his statements

As to "Liberal" universities hating America, surely the freedom to speak and as in this case the right to challenge those who speak foolishly are core "American" values. Anyway I'm sure this Iranian Conservative will find plenty of peoplebe they American Conservatives, Liberals, Libertarians or genuine Lefties to challenge him and his statements

Freedom of speech has to mean freedom of speech for all, including those you find abhorent. It also means you have the tools to counter their arguments

well this same freedom of speech was denied to our military on this same campus.

The only "tools" i would use to counter his and (others like him) arguments would be to move the United Nations to another country.

Update:

University President Lee Bollinger has resisted requests to cancel Ahmadinejad's speech this year but promised to introduce the talk himself with a series of tough questions on topics including the Iranian leader's views on the Holocaust, his call for the destruction of the state of Israel and his government's alleged support of terrorism.
