Thanks Shlomo. Indeed the overuse of antibiotics is high on the list for cause of these virulent strains. We all have a great deal to learn in order to protect our children. And really thankful for your information concerning the use of alcohol which is a main ingredient in the antibacterial wipes and gels which people are using to clean their hands when away from soap and water.

the over use of many things is not good.....

antibiotics being over used is the number one cause of C-DIFF, which can be very dangerous, especially for the elderly and young and is very very contagious through body fluids, which would also include sneezing and caughing....

i feel the same about immunizations being over used..... can cause the body to shut down its own defenses, because we are not making it do its job, where it is not used it will disipated......

some places, it is needed that sanitation be done, if not required, then i feel we ought to let it go.....

for the last 13 years, i have not had any flu shots, and have not had the flu, nor any other cold that would take me out of commisison for even a day..... being around others that have been sick (after taking meds to keep from getting sick)..... being around some of the nastiest environments and not getting a thing... (other then a mild case of food poisoning from long johns....)

mike

How wonderful that you are so healthy and obviously have an active healthy immune system! Some of us are not so blessed. But last year I did take the vitamin D regularly and missed all cold and flu symptons. That is what this topic is about...what can we do to help ourselves miss some of this stuff? I have read that the D gives the body much resistence against many diseases including the flu and virus symptons.

Last Christmas I spent quarantined for two weeks because I had mumps. I was told that I was most likely exposed while I was shopping. I do believe every gland in my entire body was infected and hated me with a passion. Can we say PAIN! I sat in my recliner covered in blankets and propped up with pillows so that I could breathe while I slept. My church family brought food and supplies to me, sat the bags by the door, rang my doorbell, waited to see my face in the window, and then jumped in their cars & drove away as fast as possible. I was not amused! Oh, never drink orange juice when you have the mumps - YEEEOOOWWW! One good thing came from the experience, I should have plenty of antibodies to mumps.

I now use sanitizing wipes on the handle of the grocery cart and sanitizing hand cleaner on my hands. I also do not go shopping if I have something contagious. Every time I see a kig chewing on the handle of the grocery cart I get the urge to thump their parents in the head. What happened to parents who told their kids not to put anything in their mouths that they didn't know where it had been? What happened to parents who used noonies for their kids to suck on instead of grocery cart handles? What happened to parents who used to tell their kids not to run with sticks cause they were going to poke their eye out with them? Oh, sorry, I started getting carried away.

I am not sure what I can add that no one else has said..Shlomo is absolutely correct, Nebula filled with wisdom and everyone else doing their best to take precautions.

Methicillen Resistant Staphlcoccus Aureious better known a MRSA. (pardon the spelling, that is why it gets abbreviated :) ) This bacteria has been around a long time. I first encountered it in 1983. A woman I took care of died of a heart attack. One of her many previously taken cultures returned with MRSA.

Infection Control went nutz.

I, the child of God, the Christian girl never contracted it!!! Praise and Glory belongs to Jesus and his wonderful Staying power of His Blood and Grace.

They kept swabbing me and I kept coming back negative.

Swabbing simple bacitracin inside the nares will prevent it as it is airborne if you do not have it. These bacterias are smart not to mention the viruses and like any other living thing will adapt itself to survive. Pennicillen was so over used that staph decided to mutate, pennicillen was number one to kill staph, not unlike New York city rats became immune to the poisions of the past used to kill them.

It is when it gets into the lung, the Blood that it is dangerous, but this is true of most bacteria and viruses.

Ladies...you put your pocketbook on floors and then walk in your home and put it on the counter. If I told you what you just did and what is now on your counter you will be so grossed out you may never use your pocketbook or counter again!!! lol

My daughter is not allowed to use the schools water fountain and has been taught not to touch water turn on water faucets there either.

handwashing does help with germs but not all cos one really needs to wash for five minutes at least.

We are host to normal bacteria, normal viruses, and such.

We also have authority to command what is foreign to out bodies to die, We have authority over all living things...That is not to say we will not succomb to something but we are to be wise as well.

Our immune systems are overtaxed, stress, not eating properly, toxins in our cleaning stuff, toxins in our water, our air, our homes.. The liver and kidneys are our basic filters. Our lymphatic system is a screen.. Also we also do not get enough rest.

People still die of malaria, pneumonia, staph and strepp infections. Then there is pseudomonis, now we have chicken pox viruses that have mutated as well, and I can keep on going to the point one can get so paranoid ....Jesus does not want us fearful either.

If any antibiotic is needed I always reccommend yogurt with active cultures to keep that "Flora" healthy.

My opinion...my opinion i repeat, is that we have a great Physician and a Great high Priest that prays for us day and night.

Ir I told you all that is actually out there you actually should be Praising Jesus that He has kept you.

Mumps...oh my...mumps? Dangerous to have as a adult and even more dangerous for a male to get it.

Orange Juice...Good Lord I pray you remain to have a great lining along your throat. I am glad and happy you came through it. I have had it and will never forget it. I was little though.

If we lived in a germ free environment we will not be able to live...

watch out for over the counter antacids which change your p.h level, we need the acid tokill off harmful things.

I have something fairly new and there is no cure, it is not catagious and it can kill...slowly. But I am still here..Praise the lord. Any other questions or comment just ask... patricia!

Thanks for the clarification! :)

Let me try to explain this. If you sanitize your hands or your cart handle with something that does not kill all the bacteria on the handle, what you have left behind is an open breeding ground to the bacteria that got left behind.

Another point to note is how tough and efficient our immune system is. I can't go into the long details right now, but it is an immense line of defense. Some cells are designed to attack anything foreign, but others are "specialists," which are only activated when you are exposed to a particular bacteria or virus. That is how you develop immunity. With that understood, in general, exposure to a few bacteria can pretty much be taken out by our immune system without us getting sick. However, exposure to a large sum of the bacteria or viruses can break through our defenses quite easily (until the immunity-cells are activated).

So, this is the balance-game you have to play - let yourself be exposed to numerous bacteria and viruses in order to build up your immune system (but risk getting exposed to dense population of one particular bacteria or virus), or avoid such at all costs and weaken your immune system (making yourself more vulnerable to attack - or allergies).

So, that's the perspective I'm seeing this from.

And sure, we can sanitize the shopping cart handle - but don't forget your coins and cash (who knows where those have been), the bottom of your purses (as Patricia mentioned), door handles, the gas pump handle, your kitchen sponge (yes, your kitchen sponge is a bacterial breeding ground  ), . . . .

There are staph infections in one of our local high schools. (I live in Michigan) Different areas of the school are being sanitized tonight. And oddly enough I went to see my family doctor today (I''ve been ill for 4 weeks ) and I have a bacterial infection. I have no idea how I got it but it sure does make one sick.

Kathy

Praying for you now! May you heal quickly and stay healthy this winter.

Thank you for praying for me.

Kathy

There have been 20 cases this school year in Middle Tennessee, right now there is a 5 year old fighting for her life, in critical condition.................... her name is Juliana Cllemons, if you would like to say some prayers for her.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
