The ten toes in Daniel's vision.

I ask this question for I believe the toes do apply to a reunited Europe who fight against Christ in the last days?

Is this correct or is there another intepretation of these toes(10 kingdoms) that are to be smashed?

Well rolling thunder points to the 10 members of the WEA military wing of the EEC as the 10 toes of the image that daniel saw. The 10 members are

I think there is also talk of the united actions security council expanding from its current 5 memebers to 10 memebers to add nations like india, brazil and germany?

But in the end this is all speculation. Time and time again throughout history people have speculated on this and they tend to come up with the most likely candidate in the world at their time in history. There has been a few cries of wolf on this subject because i think deep down people want to see an end to the corrupt world as it is. Hi Russell,

Actually, it was King Neb's dream of the statue that had the ten toes. In Daniel's dream with visions, he saw the fourth beast with ten horns, in which another little horn shall spring up among them and subdue three of the ten horns. The WEU (Western European Union) is the defense arm of the EU, which consists of ten nations that I believe we should be keeping our eyes on.

Daniel 7:7-8 - "After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

(8) I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Revelation 17:12-14 - "And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

(13) These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

(14) These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful."

If Daniel's 4th beast is the Revived Roman Empire that most prophecy students believe it is, then there will be ten horns that rise up in the EU, then the little horn (son of perdition) will rise among them and take charge.

The little horn will rise to power and deceive many with peace. And he will become strong with small group of people.

Daniel 11:21-23 - "And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

(22) And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

Thanks Adstar and Rollin T. that clarifies things a bit better... for I was wondering about a reunited Europe with so many members and how this could make 10 when in fact there are well over 15.

So if in fact this military wing of WEU is the ten toes... these ones could be the ones who attack Jerusalem in the final days before the return of Christ...is that so.

I understand about the horns etc, adstar. Just trying to establish if the WEU will be the one to attack Jerusalem as spoken of in the Old Testament prophecies for the last days.

Russel, I am not sure given the current political climate that England would agree to an attack on Israel...

But every time I think I have something figured out I realize that I am only assuming based upon current information that I have and not what is actually occuring. I think the attack on Israel will come from somewhere unexpected but were that maybe I don't wish to speculate.

These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. It says the kings of the earth and their armies it could mean all the kings of the earth and all their armies. I believe the antichrist will be the ruler of the beast empire that will be his source of power but a also believe He will eventually control all the kingdoms of the earth either directly or through puppet kings/leaders.

As for the EEC i cannot answer that because i do not know if the EEC is the beast. All i can say is at the preasent time in history The EEC seems to be the best candidate for being the beast. In another 20 years there many be an Islamic equivalent to the EEC or an Asian one?? who knows?

Some are strong, some are weak and not all agree with one another...which again agrees with Scripture that as iron and clay does not hold together...so these nations will not hold together as one, so easily...interesting.

Also being the toes of the statue they are the weakest Kindgom of the statue and their rule does not last long, which again lines up with Scripture....what do you think?

Well nothing wrong with your thinking. I might add that the iron and clay cannot be molded into one they cannot fully combine. There is a dream in the minds of many people of europe that one day all the european nations will be united into one nation with a parliament and a president. i don't see that happening because there are too many forces/interest groups that are against that final union.

So the clay and iron might have two symbolic meanings being strength and weakness and the inability to fully integrate and unite.

One interesting fact about the 10 horned beast referred to in Daniel is that an eleventh horn will rise up out of the beast and cause 3 off the other horns to be subdued. this 11th horn i believe in the antichrist himself i'm not sure if he will take over direct control of 3 nations and make them become one. But the final beast may only have 7 leaders and the antichrist?

Well it will be a very brief empire i'm sure but it will still have enough power to "devour the whole earth"
