From Cajon,

Just wondering eric, but you noted that you were "far from being happy." and yet you've been retired for quite some time now. Could you shed more light on the "discontentment?" Or are you saying that you are unhappy with people you know that and the world today and the direction that they are heading....etc...etc...?? The reason I ask is because in about 7 years I will be looking at retirement, in a sense and I'm surprised to hear someone already retired might be "unhappy" about retirement. I'm guessing that the Unhappy comment might be from another source? No?

I'm going to hit the sack now,but I will get back to you. It's no big deal, really. The past is dead and gone, but I have a marvellous future ahead of me.

c/ya for now.

No worries eric, God's got your back! I was just concerned for a bit when you noted to Nebula that you might be STILL far from being happy?

Sorry for being so long, had to give the matter some thought.

I don't think there is any one in the world to, who can say they are happy 24/7

.

Happiness is a fleeting moment that occurs for a time then fades back into the reality of getting on with life. I worked many years in the liqor trade and served in every type of bar serving the working class and the posh bars. I observed people and their behaviour.

I've watched them walk in through the door their faces lit up with the anticipation of having fun and being happy and I've seen their faces when they step back through the door, going back to the family and the mortgage and the bills.

Mind you, that's only one section of society. You don't see many smiling faces as you pass through the malls and supermarkets. Who could be happy in a world spiralling out of control. Even those who are wealthy and have evrything, want more, they are not happy with what they have.

No I'm not what you call happy, but I am satisfied with what I do have and want for nothing financialy or physically. We manage on our pension quite comfortably, and most of all we have Jesus, who be both love, trust and have 100% faith in.

Happy?..nah. Contented with out lot?.. yeah and resigned to the fact things wont improve until the Lord takes us home........Then we will know happiness. Mean while we have the Lord's work to consider, which occupies my days. I may not be what you could call happy, but full of the joy in the Lord.

Hope you enjoy your coming retirement.

Thanks for sharing that eric! I can relate on some occassions, as I work at the local Airport for the government and we are taxed and overworked beyond our capabilities at times. and being 55 in a job force that requires one to be young and healthy, I have to maintain a regimine' of exercise even though I am in constant pain in my shoulder most of the day. But God told me a while back that HE would show me happiness again, and after going through a bout with the female menopause that my wife experienced and my aging process as well, we almost didn't survive our marriage. But I remembered what God said about divorce and I hung in there, and bared all that I didn't understand, because the Lord was speaking loudly to me at that time and I was not going to disappoint HIM. HE got us through 35 years of marriage and I promised that I vowed I would not leave her side through sickenss and health. And this felt very much like Life's sickenss to me as I experienced it. And the thought of not being with my wife and breaking up the family and life staggered and freightened me tremendously....I'm just so glad that part of our life is over . And as of a few months ago the "nest" has been abandoned for the last time and the fun's about to begin......again......lololol

God Bless and thanks brother

When you read the Scriptures, have you ever payed attention to how many commands and words of instruction are given to us on how we are to conduct our lives? Why? So we can go about our business and just "trust that the Lord will work in our lives?" Or are we supposed to "find out what pleases the Lord" (Eph. 5:10) and make active decisions to do these things, even when they are contrary to what we want to do at the time?

Psalm 119:9-11

9 How can a young man keep his way pure?

By living according to your word.

10 I seek you with all my heart;

do not let me stray from your commands.

11 I have hidden your word in my heart

that I might not sin against you.

1 Peter 5:8-11

8Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

10And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
