The world has become such a difficult and dangerous place that I am deeply appreciative of recent amusing events, which seem as if they were written by the Marx Brothers or Monty Python. I have in mind, it should go without saying, Al Gore winning both an Academy Award and the Nobel Peace Prize. The very sentence sounds like a punch line. But I can't quite figure out who is supposed to be the butt of the joke. I rather suspect that he has one more award to come

But carbon offsets are a rather strange concept. Let me use a simple metaphor to explain it: Let's suppose that Al Gore goes to an Italian restaurant and eats a loaf of garlic bread, a plate of lasagna, a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs, an extra-large pizza with seven toppings, a couple bottles of Chianti and a large assortment of pastries. As a result, he puts on 10 pounds. But he is deeply concerned that mankind is getting too fat. So he pays 10 peasants in Asia $10 each to eat nothing for a week.

Although they are already thin, by starving themselves for a week, they each lose a pound. As a result, after a week, mankind is weight neutral. Al Gore weighs 10 pounds more, 10 Asians weigh 10 pounds less

It's such a sad shame that people "think" with their biases instead of their God GIVEN minds. Why don't you people get past relying on Conservative rhetoric, half truths and outright falsehoods and start looking for TRUTH instead of political bias? Whether Al Gore is right or wrong YOU will NEVER know because you won't seek knowledge, you only listen to biased and slanted rhetoric designed to keep you ignorant and complacent, and mostly of the powerful and rich stealing more and more at YOUR expense AND WITH YOUR CONSENT. I don't defend Al Gore so much as deride your biased and prejudiced blindness.. WAKE UP before the earth really does come crashing down on your heads AND BEFORE YOU FIND OUT that GOD REALLY ISN'T ON YOUR SIDE!!! God is on NO ONES SIDE!!! You are either on HIS SIDE or you are with the world (CONSERVATIVE, LIBERAL OR MODERATE), and there is every bit as much evil and ugliness (more in fact) on the conservative side than there is on the other side. I can easily counter the arguments of aethists when talking to unbelievers, but overcoming YOUR IGNORANCE AND HATE IN THE NAME OF CHRIST for the unbeliever is a very hard thing indeed. ARE YOU WITH CHRIST OR ARE YOU ON THE SIDE OF SATAN? AND if you base your beliefs on ignorance and bias and rhetoric, you ARE NOT WITH CHRIST. IF LOVE DOESN'T DEFINE YOUR BELIEFS... YOU ARE NOT ONE OF HIS!!! You can't love and be hatefilled.... You can't seek truth and be a follower of distortions and half truths (or less).

no one said anything about becoming a liberal, or buying into any ideas without facts. I said you should NOT base your 'facts' on political bias and misinformation. And I didn't defend Al Gore either or suggest he is right. I call into question the use of incomplete or bias motivated information as complete truth and fact (which BOTH sides use)

Be a good CHRISTIAN and find your facts in TRUTH and the Love of Christ, not some political rhetoric.

Look....everyone is biased in one way or another. Christians are biased when we say that Jesus is the only way to God. People into politics are biased for politicians who support what they support. But just because I don't believe certain "facts" that are still in dispute, does not make me "blind."
