Greetings Salt & Light,

The concept of imminency evolved because we "do not know the day or the hour", and as with the 10 virgins, 5 had their lamps full and anxiously awaited the return of the groom. So we too should anticipate the Lord's coming "at any moment".

But as you know, we are still waiting after about 2,000 years. Also there are many "signs" that portend the Lord's coming and we are to be watchful for them, i.e. "the man of sin being revealed". So the concept of imminency isn't quite what some would have it to mean. I believe we should always be prepared, not having any attachments to this world that would distract us from our goal. We are to run the race to its conclusion, but THEY forget there is a ribbon across the race track down there somewhere and long before we get to it, we shall see the "signs" of it.

I see what you mean. No matter when the rapture takes place,before or after the tribulation,we still don't and won't know the day or hour that it will happen. I believe the man of sin will be revealed within the next couple of years,and yes,we are to run the race. I've been trying to warn people everyday about the coming world ruler and the mark of the beast,and unfortinately,some laugh it off.

Please allow me to reiterate. When Christ returns for his saints, he destroys all the wicked. No one is left alive. It is the Day of the Lord. (So much for another question...) And the millennium takes place in heaven (John 14:1-3), not on earth, but that is beyond this post.

As with many others, you have taken some verses "out of context" and developed a whole scenario to fit your beliefs and have ignored ALL the rest of the scriptures. Revelation makes it clear that Christ and His Saints will rule ON THIS EARTH for 1,000 years, AND there will be others who have not "been changed" who will be required to pay homage to Christ during that time. But not only the NT reveals this, but also the OT.

Much of the confusion in "Christianity", including confusion re. rapture/2nd coming, stems from failure to rightly divide the word of truth(2 Tim. 2:15), mainly in not distinguishing in the divisions in the Bible, the most important being the 2 following main divisions:

The Saints Reign with Christ 1000 Years

Satanic Rebellion Crushed

(1) 7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Can you see that the camp of the saints is not in heaven at the end of the 1000 years, but is on earth for the final satanic rebellion in is crushed when they surround the beloved city and the camp of the saints. If all the saints are in heaven during the 1000 years then there would be no camp of the saints.
