Hello everyone,

New here, I wish to pose the question....those who are being tortured in Sudan and other places around the world.....why don't they get to be "raptured"?

sybil

Hi Sybil,

Welcome to the Worthy Boards!

We look forward to getting to know you.

I am not sure that I really understand your question here, but let me give it a shot.

When the rapture happens, Everyone one who is alive and in Christ will be included, including those in Sudan and around the world.

Now those who are in Christ and have died before the rapture happens are those who will be resurrected which happens first according to 1 Thess, and we will meet those brothers and sisters in the air to be with Christ forever! What an awesome thought.

I hope this answers your question, if not please feel free to elaborate.

In Jesus

Kevin

Thank you all,

One more question, what's a 'strawman'? I still feel like those who live in places such as Sudan, probably think they are living through the tribulation. We, here in America have oppurtunities and some of us are blessed to have food and shelter. The Gospel has to seem more (for lack of a better term) current, for those living with the realities of torture and war. I suppose my understanding of 'rapture' is wrong, in that, I thought it meant 'rescue' from the horrors. I refer to Matthew Chap. 24. Verse 45 indicates Jesus will return to find us doing what we will.

Thanks again, sybil

Greetings Sybil,

Generally speaking and for the purposes sought here, a Strawman is an argument that is set up with imaginary or fictitious characters or events that are a "shadow" of the real thing. The ideas involved are supposed to correlate to the reality, but are often knocked down and become irrelevant to making a point. Subjectivity is often used which is not a reliable indicator of the reality.

As for your view of the rapture being one of rescue. In the sense that we might be rescued from tribulations in this world, it is false. Jesus makes it plain that as long as we are in this world there will be tribulation - both small and great. Tribulation consists of small persecutions, but may go so far as starvation and death by even hideous means.

However, the rapture does indeed "rescue" those who are alive and remain after the resurrection, from the wrath of God which must soon follow. For we are not appointed to wrath as Christians.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

:) Hey salt and light

Since you are post trib./pre wrath, here is something you might find interesting. I believe that this "rapture" happens right before Armegheddon {I think I spelled that right},and we will be up in the air with the Lord for about 45 days while the earth is being purged. If you take the 1290 days and subtract it from the 1335 days that are mentioned in Daniel 12:11,12, you have 45 days. We will be here for the tribulation, but get caught up right before Armegheddon, and MAYBE experience the marriage supper and the bema seat judgment, and after the 45 days, we will come back down to rule and reign here on earth. Jude 14 says ,"Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints" {old and new testament saints, saints that died since those times, and martyred saints of the tribulation} and we will be caught up to be with them and the Lord for that 45 day period, before we all come back down. Perhaps, just perhaps that's how it will be. It is interesting.

:t: Have you ever looked at this from this perspective. That the one who is blessed and waits and comes to the 1335 days "Is not you" It's CHRIST. It is CHRIST who is truly blessed and waits and comes to the 1335th day. What do you think?

Thank you Dad Ernie,

My only question now is, why are christians not appointed to wrath? Perhaps innocents, small children, the very old and infirm or people in a profound state of grace and holiness. The rest of us still sin and some of those sins remain unrepented. In the days of Noe, all perished but 8, did they not?

Greetings Sybil,

Have you read the stories of God's wrath in the Bible? Here are several examples that you might want to read about:

All of Pharoah's army drowned in the Red Sea when they attempted to chase the Hebrews.

In Korah's rebellion, the earth opened up and swalled all of the alive.

Sodom & Gomorrah.

Noah's flood.

Annanias & Sapphira in Acts 5.

Take your time, look these up in your Bible, and you will see that God's wrath comes upon the unrepentant and the downright evil. THAT is why Christians are not destined to "wrath".

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
