Someone collecting news items in Israel came up with the following:-

"Thou Shalt not kill fleas on Saturday"

(Shmuel Elyahu - head Rabbi of Zfat)

Rabi Shlomo Aviner: " If a religious medic sees two heavily wounded people, a woman and a man, he must first attend to the man in order to save his MITZVOT (religious duties)"

Rabi Yaacov Yosef says that soldiers in the IDF should NOT eat Russion cooked food. He goes on to explain that as most Russian immigrants are not Jewish, their food is most likely not Kosher.

Rabi Ovadya Yosef declares that it is forbidden to read Hebrew news papers in the toilet. Although the papers are not holy, the hebrew language IS, but it's ok to read English news papers there.

The Rabi Mordechai Eliyahu makes a special case for dangerous live electrical wires found on the ground on Saturday. You may then phone the elctric company but must do the dialing with a pencil or some other object.

The Rabi goes on to remind us we are NOT to use an umbrela on Saturday, even it has been opened on Friday before the Shabat came in.

The Rabbinic courts in Haifa recomended to a woman not to vote in elections so that peace at home should be retained.

Ovadia Yosef, the head Rabbi of the largest religious poitical party says one must not talk on the phone in the toilet or speak to someone on the other side of the door.

Palm computers are used as praying books these days and so Rabi Efraim Zalmanovitz says that ifyou drop a palm computer, you must pick it up and kiss it.

Living in this country for many years, I look in the mirror in the morning and ask myself "Are you sane?" - and I don't know the answer...............

I guess that's what you call going to extreme extremes.

As for "are you sane?" - don't worry about it, that just means that fit in perfectly here. We all wonder about our sanity at times.

That's why we need Jesus to keep us on the straight and narrow.

Hay!

What Am I Laughing At!

We Have A Politician In The USA Who Would Be In Much Better Shape If He Have Just Followed This Admonition!

Ovadia Yosef, the head Rabbi of the largest religious political party says one must not talk on the phone in the toilet or speak to someone on the other side of the door.

Then Again

Maybe Our Man Would Have Found Another Way.

Please consider this seriously:

Luk 21:25 ... upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Luk 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear,...

I believe from the Scriptures that the wrath of God is increasing and judgment { e.g. Jeremiah 9:24} on His Word [=His beloved Son Jesus Christ] being ignored/mocked/trivialized/taken lightly/treated as entertainment should be taught. The possibility of a "reprobate" mind state in Romans 1 is, to me, terrifying and should be.

Shalom ajesuschrist_mathetes,

I am at a loss as to the connection of your post to the thread.

Could you please enlighten me?

This is what I have for Jer 9:24

but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD."

Thanks and blessings :th_praying:

Dear Hupo:

Thank you so much for asking. Been studying Last Days/Holy Bible since 1981. Anyway:

1. "distress of nations"-to me, maybe especially Israel [been at war since 1948 with surrounding Islamic nations, right?]. By the way, how awful is it there? Sort of heard living within a security fence with rockets coming in from Gaza and Iran threats to wipe Israel out and and and puts one in a surreal/crazy?/nightmare state.

2. Re "judgment"/Jeremiah 9:24:so many Scriptures describe what The LORD hates {e.g. Proverbs 6-"these six things does the LORD hate, yea seven are an abomination unto him}. Shown to me especially the murder of the unborn-over 1.3 BILLION worldwide since the USA's 1973 Roe v Wade. To me, "days of Noah"-Genesis 6:1-.Think about how the USA and much of world is like living in Sodom as The Holy Bible describes it. Ravenhill's book {from the 1970s} titled "Sodom had no Bible". "Judgment" on the world- a few of the Scriptures:

1Ch 16:33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.

Psa 96:13 Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

Psa 98:9 Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

3. "sea and waves roaring"-to me, both literal {global warming-rising sea level, Katrina/other hurricans, cyclones Bangledesh(sp.?), flooding in Mexico's state last couple of days} and the use of figure of speech for "nations" as roaring seas/waves elsewhere in The Holy Bible. Look at the nations worldwide!-rebel groups, separatists,... [consider Satan/devil trying to prevent fulfilling of Matthew 24:14-outlaw Christianity in just ONE nation which especially Islam is trying to do. The Holocaust/"final solution" failed to defeat The Lord God in the 1940s-no Jews, therefore no ingathering of Israel in "last days".

But Israel 1948-ingathering which has happened to a degree, correct?].

4. Your original post re Rabbis. To me, sounds so much like what Jesus was LIVID at the Pharisees for-adding to The Law/His Word:

Shalom ajesuschrist_mathetes,

I'll try answering your post in the order you used.....

Living in Israel sounds as bad (or as good) as the media paint it. I've been living here since the age of 5 and believe me I wouldn't be here today if I saw it as black as the media sometimes paint it.

Don't forget the blessings. The state of Israel is in itself a kind of miracle! All the odds were against it existing for more than a few hours, back in 1948, and today, 60 years later, we are still around and prospering.

Yes, some things are awful, like wars and terrorist attacks etc...... but then so are road accidents and death from drugs, smoking, heart attacks and 9/11 type of attacks.

But then, even if I couldn't stand living here, where would I go to?

There is no shortage of wrong doings. What we do to each other on the roads, in night clubs, in families, robbing old people, practicly putting obstecals in front of the blind and many more that I'm sure God doesn't aproove of. Yet don't forget God was willing to by pass Sdom's distruction, for just 10 rightious people!!

The fact that God will judge everyone is a given (for me at least) and I will have to answer for everything in my life. As we all sin, and I'm part of it, there is no hope for me doing anything to be saved. It is only by God's grace that we are saved in the first place. There is nothing we can do about it except one thing....... have faith in Him. Everything else will stem from that, even God's request to love Him with all our hearts minds and souls, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Can anyone achieve this without haveing the basic faith in God?!

Not sure what you mean by "ingathering"

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
